Bored as always.

Who: Lucifer and OPEN
What: Exploring the carnival and probably annoying strangers.
When: Day 95
Where: Gamer's Circle, and anywhere you want him to bump into you
Warnings: None yet.

After a brief mishap with a malfunctioning Ferris wheel, Lucifer found himself flying away from the contraption and landing by the entrance of the circus. He folded his wings firmly behind his back, checking around him to make sure he wouldn't get into trouble for exiting a ride in what was probably considered an "unsafe way."

Granted, to him, staying on a rickety, broken-down Ferris wheel was far more unsafe than flying away from it before it collapsed.

Being interested in what was going on around him was a bit new to him. What was even worse was the fact he was actually a little overwhelmed by all the sights to be seen. The demon world didn't have anything like this, and angels would have turned up their noses at such mindless...fun. And the human world? Lucifer had gotten to see very little of that.

He wandered around Gamer's Circle, not participating in any of the games himself, but watching others do so and wondering if this was truly supposed to be more entertaining than video games.

That flash in Lucifer's eyes gave Allen pause. Did he see what he thought he saw? What was that? It didn't seem dangerous, but it was certainly curious.

So he liked having a mysterious air. Or maybe he was being cautious, keeping his hand close to his chest. Allen could play the game, but unless it was poker, he didn't like to.

"Ah . . ." Allen shook himself of the silence and smiled lightly, scratching his cheek awkwardly. "What's your job, then?"

Allen snatched up a beaver tail, too, as if just now realizing that fact. From around the pastry, he said, "No, I'm a clown."

Gulping the beaver tail down faster than any human had any right to, he continued, "That makes us in the same division, doesn't it?"

"No one wants to see that." He rubbed the back of his neck, amused and bewildered at the thought. "And I can't do any magic tricks. Besides, there's nothing wrong with clowns."

EQUAL CLOWN RIGHTS!
showmystar: (so be it cold blooded freaks)

"I don't have a red, honking nose. That's ridiculous." Allen pulled away some of his silken-spun cotton candy and popped it on his tongue. "But what does creepy pasta have to do with anything?"

"That's . . . a little concerning." Allen hoped the carnival-goers here wouldn't find him creepy. An unhappy crowd could be a cruel one. He'd be wearing overripe tomatoes for a week. "I used to hate clowns, myself, but I didn't think they were creepy. Just . . . fake."

As a child, Allen could spot the fake smiles, and he didn't find that particularly entertaining.

Allen picked at his fairy floss thoughtfully. "I don't know if that's true. Friends, at least, can be themselves around each other. Just a little bit."

He had to hope that was the case. "It's lonely otherwise, isn't it?"
showmystar: so shut your mouth! (we're the fools we lose our cool)

"Is your home a lot like this, then?" Allen was intrigued. Lucifer said "places" much more vaguely than someone might when speaking about moving from London to Manchester. Vague terms seemed to be a theme for him.

"World-hopping . . ." Allen repeated the word thoughtfully, a tad more excepting of it than when he arrived. He cast his eyes skywards, seemingly paying no mind to Lucifer's gaze. The guy didn't intimidate him. "The carnival does that. So I'm not sure what you'd call this place . . . I suppose the carnival is like a ship, and it travels inter-dimensional waters."

That sounded right. He was really just combining terms Yuya used with concepts he had already experienced with the Ark back home.

"Ah, not very long, actually. A couple weeks, I think." The fact that Allen felt at home in the circus may have aided in putting across a well-adjusted front. He was taking everything in stride. "But if you ever need help from a simple clown, I'm here."

There was a joke in there somewhere, lying quietly beneath his tone. He wasn't just an ordinary clown.

The question pulled Allen's attention away from his curious stare at Lucifer preening himself.

"Tim??" He couldn't imagine ever involving Timcanpy in the show. It would be a disaster. "No way. I can't order him to do anything."

Allen scowled as he continued, his tone a judge committing a criminal to life, "He's untrainable."
