Day 106: Not So Lucky (?)
Who: Marinette and YOU
What: Being miserable and meeting people.
Where: The Carnival
When: Day 106
1. She's not a happy camper, at first. As she roams around the carnival taking in the sights and sounds without a bunch of other guests around. She was employed now, no, indebted, and all because of her own ridiculous clumsiness. She's clearly feeling down as she finds away around. The only thing really distracting her from her gloomy thoughts the other workers who she at least tries to introduce herself too. Strangely though, they all seem a little weird or at least, not entirely human.
"Are most of the people who work here fae, like the Ringmaster?"
2. Later after a bit of a pep talk she's found her way to the food hall. Her stomach is grumbling. She's clearly hungry, but she just doesn't feel up to eating right now. Still, she knows she should eat something. She walks around grabbing this or that thing to eat, and being sure to snatch a lot of cookies. Cookies were part of her, uh, special diet. Or something. Anyway, she has to try and make the best of it here! Otherwise it was surely going to be a very long year. But, well, how exactly was she going to do that? Maybe just this first day it would be fine to sit by herself and just quietly eat something. Though instead of eating she just ends up moving her fork around on her plate a lot.
3. [CLOSED]
"Trailer 30..." she said softly to herself as she walked down row after row of trailer in search of her new home. They seemed to go in order, so if she just kept walking towards the bigger numbers then... Yes, she found it. She walks up to the door, nerves growing as she came closer and closer until she was standing right in front of it. Her hand gripped the doorknob, she closed her eyes and prayed that there wouldn't be anything horrendous inside, and then she opened the door.
"He-hello?"

3
"Hello?" He stands up to come closer to the front door so he can greet them better. Although that voice is familiar...

"A-are we-?"
Roommates?!!
no subject
"It looks like we're roommates?"
no subject
She reaches out, placing a hand on the wall as her knees go weak.
"We're... Roommates..."
no subject
"Sorry... You'd probably prefer someone else."
no subject
"No... I just, I didn't think boys and girls would be rooming together." She can't even meet his gaze as she says it. It isn't a lie, but it's not the whole truth either. Mostly though, she's embarrassed. He seemed totally fine rooming with her. Was there something wrong with her that it felt strange to room with a boy?

"Uh--I've never asked." He pulls the roll away from his mouth as he rolls his eyes up to think. "I know there's a lot of us from other dimensions who aren't fairies. Or weren't? People probably aren't turning into fairies..." Probably.
Yuya, however, doesn't look particularly inhuman right now at all. Just like he has a weird hair color.

"So... You don't know?"

Like, being arrested worse.
He pauses, considering her question or a moment. It's followed up by a shrug. "Honestly? I have no idea. Some of us probably are, but I've never thought of asking. I'm definitely human though."
Or well, he would be if he looked a little bit more convincing - the fact that he's already had some fae changes, including bioluminescent markings on his skin, fangs and claws, it's not particularly helpful in substantiating his claim.
no subject
"Do all humans have fangs where you're from?"
no subject
He shakes his head. "I didn't have them back in my home world, it's just a thing that happened after joining the carnival. Something about reaction to fae magic, from what I hear."
He'd had a minor Moment when he found that out too, especially since magic wasn't something he was... exposed to, back home.
no subject
"Is that why everyone here looks so we- I mean... So unique?"

Still, he serves her, unconsciously going back to his Sizzle It Up days and, perhaps, being just a bit overly-showy as he does so. He sets the dish before her with a dramatic flourish, grinning broadly at her...
... and then she just kind if pokes at it, and he seems to deflate a bit.
"... you, uh, alright there, pumpkin?"
no subject
"Oh, I guess I'm just a little... Homesick." It felt weird saying it, it wasn't completely accurate either. It wasn't just that she missed her home, but that she was worried about being here. There were a lot of strange things here she didn't understand, lots of magic, and the looming threat of something about her changing outside her control. It was a lot to take in on one day, and so she couldn't help wishing she could just go home.

He turns a bit in his seat to cross his legs, propping his chin in his hand.
"What're you in for?"
no subject
"Well, I tripped. And pushed a cart. And the cart rolled forward and... Knocked over the snack bar."
She groans, hiding her face in her hands. Why was she always such a klutz?

This....This is a disaster...
And Carly, frankly, looks a bit like one. It's been an interesting few days, settling into a new trailer set up and such, and rather than her usual get up she's honestly just opted to come and get dinner in her pj pants and souvenir t-shirt. It's a Lazy Day today, dammit.
She doesn't sit at Marinette's table, but she doesn't sit too far away, half collapsing beside her tray with a sigh. "Hawwwww...they were supposed to make the double chocolate ones too..." Why This...
no subject
"Excuse me, but I think I may have taken too many cookies. Would you help me out? I really don't want to end up wasting any of them."
no subject
So no hard feelings? "Ahhhhh thank you so much..~! ...Ah, how many though..." Is it a one or two deal, or did you take a lot of cookies Marinette, because that's suddenly occurred to her as being an option (and not because she wants the cookies, she swears. She's just wondering what state they'll be in).
no subject
"Take as many as you want! I think this time my appetite was bigger than my stomach."
no subject
"I-In that case, if it's fine by you..." Those Three Are Hers Now. Carly takes the three cookies with a wide smile, and bows her head in relief. "Thank you so much... ...handling wardrobe without a snack is horrible, especially right now..!"
