[OPEN] In Rides the King: Day 103+
Who: Jack and YOU!
What: Jack's come here on a mission and he really doesn't care about socializing, but bug him anyway! Just an intro log to get him assimilated before the AU event.
Where: The Carnival, the lake, wherever.
When: Day 103~105
a; arrival, gamer's circle - 103
[It was performance week, but Jack's late arrival meant he didn't actually have to work yet. He wasn't exactly thrilled with the job he'd been assigned either, but he had full confidence he would excel at it. He was supposed to be a Talker, so all he needs to do was learn more about the attractions he was supposed to talk about.
He thinks.
Unfortunately, Jack has no plans to make himself useful until he's asked. While he walks himself and his bike--which is essentially just a motor on a giant wheel--through the park with the sole intent of getting to his trailer and staying there, he has to walk through the gamer's circle first. The flashing lights and noise just make him look more sour than usual, at least, until he comes across a stand where you shoot down strafing, cut-out clowns with a water gun.]
Hmph... [That annoying smile. The make-up. Those two, tufts of hair on either side of its head. It reminds him of someone irritating.
Just for that, Jack steps up to the plate, grabbing the water gun with bravado.] Is that the best you can do?!
[He's really taking his aggression out on those clowns.]
b; by the lake - 105
[The carnival itself didn't really interest him. Jack wasn't here to have fun; he was here with a goal in mind, and because of that he didn't feel inclined to "goof off". It's only been two days, and while his conviction hasn't wavered, he'd much rather be somewhere quiet and alone. Meeting Carly here was an unexpected twist.
He's taken to sitting on one of the rocks far off to the wayside of the lake, tossing smaller ones into the water. It's just something to do while he thinks.
Why not ruin it for him?]
c; wildcard - 103~105
[Jack is probably in the way or being loud, somewhere, somehow. We can hash out an idea on my plurk
danderly or just wing it!]

[The lizard is being snatched away, and boy howdy it is STILL FLAILING.] Mnnnnhhhh-!!! He's not stealing things, don't do that..!!
WAK!
Jack- Are you alright? How hard did she get you..?
no subject
He crosses his legs.]
no subject
Ice, some cloth, and here they are, she can bring it over for-] ...Jack, I need you to uncross those...
no subject
I'm fine.

[Here, she's set up a footstool and everything, and once the leg is resting there, ice is going on the shin.] There. If you leave it for a bit, that should make it feel a bit better...Nuna's got a strong swing after all.
no subject
He's already looking antsy.]
I can't unpack like this!

[He didn't carry Carly's luggage up here just to be nice.
Well, actually.
He kind of did.]

I don't understand how you could possibly need this much stuff to begin with.
no subject
[what]
no subject
There's stuff, and then there's too much stuff!
[This bag is massive. Their trailer was pretty big too, but it was going to get cramped fast if this is how much Carly can collect in...how long has she even been here? Her contract may very well be nearing its own end.]
no subject
[...Ok that's fair.] ....Also, clothes are in there...
[...And a handstitched Atlasbear...]
no subject
I'm not complaining about the coffee maker, as long as you have some coffee to go with it!
[That also wasn't the point, but Jack neither notices nor cares as he reaches over to pluck out the Atlasbear from its pocket near the front.
He stare at it.]
no subject
AtlasBear...] Ah.....................
[Shit] I....might have r...recreated my bear from home....
[Carly that explains nothing.]
no subject
[He squeezes it in his hands.]
This nothing but a poor imitation. It doesn't even look like me!
no subject
Hey be careful!! [she wails, hurriedly reaching for it.] And of course it doesn't, it's supposed to look like the limited edition 'KING OF DUEL' bears they had the year before your last tournament..!!!
[Carly why do you know this
Why did you have this]

Seemingly at a loss for words, or just not feeling up to the effort of conversation as he so often is, Jack reaches up to touch the still-stinging mark on his cheek. The last few hours have been an information and social overload for him, and Carly especially had turned the situation on its head. Now that they'd sat down, and he'd cooled off, it was suddenly bearing down on him.
He needed a little time to think. Staring at the massive bag on the table, at the trailer, at the situation he's found himself in all in the midst of challenging an even greater adversary than the Dark Signers. Jack gets to his feet, favouring one side thanks to Nuna.] I'm taking a walk.

Instead she nods, somewhat anxiously, watching as he heads out. She'll just have to make sure it's...easier when he comes back. Better...more welcome!
PERFECT, EVEN. And she'll do just that-by the time Jack is back, she has all of her things organized and put away...she still hasn't found where the second bed is, but hey, whatever right? There's more important things. Like a ramen cup from a carefully built up stash obtained while in the Interdimensional Shopping Mall, a boiled kettle of water, and the first use of the ~New Coffee Maker~....
Also, she's peeled a phoenix fruit. They're good, he'll probably like them, right? The plant itself sits in the window, now.]

As usual, he doesn't announce his entrance, but his heavy footsteps give her enough of a warning before he opens the door. The scent of fresh coffee assails him, and Jack pauses in the doorway.] Hmm... That aroma...
[He beelines for the coffeemaker.]
no subject
Coffee. And good coffee too, though the man's running in has Carly shouting-] AAHHH!! T-The boots!! At least take your boots off..!!
[Too late. Mug of steamed delicious coffee....is there.] Hmmnnnn... ...well, at least you're here in time for that...
[She definitely waited until she could hear you coming to make it.]
no subject
These are high quality coffee beans... They have a rich aroma!
[Jack steps over to the table and takes a seat, closing his eyes as he sips his drink and savours it.]
