[Being a ghost was odd. Ghosts by nature had something unfinished about them, but another thing that seemed to come up was wanting things in general. Or just over all focusing on even the smallest slight.

This was what the ghost of Reina's former boyfriend seemed to do, not long after his own death. One would think he would hinge on the angel that failed to spare him and spared her instead. Or perhaps her being alive prevented that. But what he DID focus on as a subject of rage (while unfortunately being quite invisible) was the one draining his body in the morgue.

It was easier, when the body was fresh and untarnished like this, for the mortician to have his vampire friend attach a few tubes to the corpse, and drink up. Bodies had to be drained after all.

Logically that made sense, but 'Jerry' was a little too focused on the treatment of his corpse as a snack.

And he focused-and focused, focused until he could finally make himself visible to his former beloved to tell her just that; to look for the vampire that fed at the hospital he'd died in, and Take Him DOWN.

Reina was happy to oblige.]

[Yuya sulked silently the entire trip. His expression was only broken whenever he'd look over his shoulder at Gon, worried. He seems to look worse and worse the longer it takes to get there.

When they come to a stop he snaps his attention forward and wastes no time bounding out of the car. No time helping get Gon to the entrance, and no time to go find Zecora.]

Thanks. [His voice is tense because, really, this was her fault. And he was still angry, but he was also scared. And Gon's life was more important than his feelings.

He goes running down the halls, and... who. Who is Zecora. How does he find her.]

Hey! Miss Zecora, are you here?! Hello! [That's one way.]

[He doesn't have to go far to find Zecora -- who he'd run straight past on his way in, as she walked past the hospital. She leans in the doors, one hand supporting her against the frame.] Excuse me -- are you looking for me?

[Yuya skids to a halt down the hallway and turns right back around.]

Yes! [He points towards the hospital entrance.] Gongenzaka! Noboru is hurt! He needs help.

[Yuya doesn't even catch the slip of his tongue on Gon's name, instead pointing more emphatically. Let's go!]

[She takes a moment, in no small part because of that slip, to connect the name to the large fellow who took care of her medical waste -- and then she squeezes her eyes shut, even as she motions him back quickly.]

Lead the way. And... [Her voice drops to a low undertone.] We will likely need to go to my clinic. The hospital is likely to find a few things they shouldn't, if they try to treat him.

[Yuya nods, leading her back to where Reina is waiting with Gon. It isn't far, since they hardly made it to the entrance dragging him along. Though that was likely in part Reina's reluctance.]

[It's in every pit her reluctance-the moment Reina spies them coming, she jerks her thumb toward the bushes she's deposited the vampire in, and heads for her car.] We're square now, got it? [she insists, as if she wasn't the cause of the entire situation in the first place.] You'd better not forget that I didn't get this chance for Jerry.

[Patient in the bushes. Woman snarking threats that hint at greater problems and equality. Yeah, this is what Zecora likes to see.]

What happened? [First things first: find out just how injured he is.]

[Yuya just glares at Reina as she leaves... but he won't stop her because he doesn't expect any help. Even if he's sorry for what happened to her boyfriend, it doesn't justify this.

He pulls the pushes back so he can check on Gon himself, hoping he's not starting to succumb to the injuries. Hang in there, buddy.] It was, uh, angelic aura or something? It was holy magic... that's really bad for vampires, isn't it?

[DEFINITELY bad. Gongenzaka didn't exactly have to breathe before, but the lifesign he does have-namely the fact that he isn't a pile of dust-isn't a strong hope to his health. Where his skin is burned it looks like wood from a log-fire, cracked and ashen, splitting apart. He isn't opening his eyes.

...But at least he's there.]

I would say that depends on the vampire, but I think we have our answer already.

We certainly can't take him into the hospital. You can only imagine how many questions that will raise. [She shakes her head, then glances over at Yuya.] Go check the entrances for a wheelchair you can, mm, borrow without too much attention?

[Yuya peels himself away from the bushes, only reluctant for a second before he goes to do as he's told.

He coolness back shortly with a wheelbarrow. It clatters around as he runs with it, but it'll do.]

[Zecora stares.]

[How -- how did he find a wheelbarrow before he found a wheelchair?! That raises -- so many questions!]

[Ugh, whatever. This is not good at all, this is so much less subtle and explainable than a wheelchair, but they clearly can't wait. So she moves to start shifting the corpse into it, before he stops being a corpse and starts being a pile of dust.] If I get arrested, I'm blaming you.

[It's so much harder to sneak off with a wheelchair, hospitals want to keep those! He didn't have a good enough excuse to pawn one off at the time.

Yuya gives Zecora a miserable look, but he's not feeling peppy enough to snap back. Helping Gon into the wheelbarrow makes him far too aware of the damage.]

You can save him... can't you?

I will do all that is within my power.

[No hope for subtlety, only speed. As soon as he's in the wheelbarrow, Zecora hefts its by the handles and takes off at a job, into the back alleys behind her clinic where they're less likely to be spotted.]

Luckily, treatment in this case generally amounts to one thing only.

[Yuya rushes along beside her. He's not terribly concerned about sneaking into back alleys.

He looks between Gon and Zecora. 'Luckily' means it'll be easy?] What's that?

[She isn't so harried and urgent that she can't spare a glance for the boy. Really? What are vampires all about?]

[Yuya is harried and urgent, and while the silence continues his face starts to contort with frustration and desperation.

He gets that she's going to make him think about that one himself, so he finally tears his gaze away. It becomes more of a thought to the back of his head as the back door of the clinic is in view, though, and he goes immediately to try and open it for Zecora.]

[Luckily there is just one step and the door is a little wide -- easy enough for Zecora, with a grunt and some strain, to pull the wheelbarrow up and over.] Can you get him onto an exam table?

[It... takes effort. Yuya isn't strong enough on his own, but heavy objects take a lot more effort to move with telepathy, too. Still, the exam table isn't moving him across the room-- he can probably manage.

So it's a combination of ESP and muscle, but he gets Gon onto the table.]

[Which is fine. Zecora isn't criticizing the means here. Her own are a bit esoteric as well, because when she returns to the room as Yuya gets that large body settled, she's holding a few bags of what is unquestionably blood.]

This is the obvious first treatment. Do you know of any reason I shouldn't try it?

[Yuya pauses to think about that.]

No. [No, he's got no objections if it's going to work.]

[zebrarhyme_everytime]

If you can hold him down, that might be appreciated.

[No time to waste, then. Here goes nothing. Zecora simply twists off the cap that plugs the bag, and lets blood trickle slowly into Gon's mouth.]

[Why do they need to hold him down...?

Yuya does as he's told, though, watching the blood drip out the corner of his eye. It's still a preferable sight to Gon himself.]

[Blood. He doesn't wake, but he does respond-with a wrinkled nose, and the motion of swallowing. He feels too weak to properly move, but he is, at least, drinking. Healing is by no means a miraculous recovery but...it seems at the least that some 'health' returns to his face, even if it doesn't come to the burn areas quite so much. Apparently, despite the fears, he didn't need to be held down-maybe if he was more able to reach for anything (let alone the blood bag) it would have been necessary, but as it is, he gasps for the drink, his fingers twitching every few seconds.]

[If she's wrong, she's wrong, and no harm done -- but better to be cautious, than have Gon suddenly regain strength and hunger enough to start attacking the living sources of blood right here.]

[Emptying the first bag, she tosses it into the biohazard disposal bin, then opens another to begin draining it the same way.]
