It's been a few days since the cat incident (also known in Strange's mind as absolute hell) and Strange has resigned himself to the fact that he's not getting his notes back from Lambert. So, what he has to do is get them back himself. It's a combination of scrying and google that lets him figure out Lambert's address...which oddly enough, is the same as Peridot's address. It's then that the pieces click together, the penny drops, and really Peridot, you can do better than someone like Lambert, he's not even your type to begin with.
So, it's one evening, right before dusk, that Strange decides to pay Lambert a visit. He's parked his car outside of Lambert's apartment and, one tracking spell later, has confirmed that the man's actually inside. Now to confront him...and hope that Lambert wouldn't question the fact that Strange looks a bit like he's going to collapse at at any moment.
Walking up to the door, he rings the doorbell. "Lambert, I know you're in there," he calls out, loud enough that it can be heard in the apartment. "Open up."
