Who: Yuya and you!
When: S2:D28-32
Where: Carnival Grounds
What: Yuya wakes up with a couple new changes, and general carnival shenanigans
Warnings: Proooobably none?
[Balance Beams]
[Yuya woke on the 28th with no trace of Creation in him—just a little reminder on his face, of tiny stars around his cheeks and eyes that shine in the light gold of his soul color (and his other fae mark looks lighter as well.
He has a new appendage.
He’s not exactly happy about it—a thin, lizard-like tail in iridescent orange scales that’s about as along as he is tall. His tail isn’t big, so it doesn’t shift his center of gravity too much. Still, it’s just enough that Yuya notices it when trying to practice for the upcoming performances. He’s left slightly off center, and that’s not going to do in front of an audience.
So he’s taken to long hours in the big top, using the only inches high balance beams with very thin widths to try and orient himself with his new tail. Sometimes it flails wildly or Yuya teeters one direction or the other with his face pinched in concentration. He makes it to the other side easily, but it’s not as smooth and refined as he’d like it to be. If you’re walking by, try not to get smacked in the face, the legs, the anything.]
[Magic "Practice"]
[Alternatively, now that he no longer has his Guardian abilities, Yuya’s back to fairly typical magic practice. He’s got his staff out by the training area, using the glowing crystal at the end to draw various patterns on the ground.
Smiley faces, that is.
This is absolutely practice. It’s rune drawing practice or. Something.
They don’t last more than a couple minutes, but there is a constantly moving pattern of smiley faces (smiley suns, smiley flowers) going across the open field.]

He probably should have bought those null-gravity tablets on the Moon but honestly, he’d also really wanted that computer, and with all the various purchases he’d made... well, really, both were things he’d just wanted to play with, and he could get air-floating elsewhere more easily than he could get any fun tech. Even if it’s probably better that he doesn’t pull this again, putting this body’s full weight on that poor high wire.

So for the most part he tries to keep his hands free for easy maneuvering, especially with all the flipping around... would just floating down break the illusion for the audience about how daring their tricks are? But Yuya's job isn't 'daredevil' anyway, so does that matter?

He's been weightless for a fair amount of time, far longer than an acrobat might take to float to the floor, and the thought comes that he's low enough now that if his personal gravity returns suddenly it's going to hurt. Reluctantly, Julien flicks a wing and turns over, and raises his wings in just such a way that he bobs gently down, clawed feet splayed and ready. He doesn't have hair but you can tell his gravity is back because of a change in the way he holds his legs, and some subtle difference in how his feathers are held. "Aww. That's fun. A little hard on the body when you've eaten recently, maybe, but fun."

He nods. "Yeah, I'm usually swinging pretty quickly, especially if I want to get off the trapeze bar in time." That meant adapting to this tail fast, and--oh, and then he realizes something.
"My costume!" His fingers dig into his hair in a panic. "I don't think any of them fit a tail!"
He didn't have one until now! He's not prepared for this performance week at all.

He takes a step forwards as the light of realization hits poor Yuya. "Hey, hey! It's gonna be fine. We know how to recut pants for tails." If one of the designers doesn't just up and make new pants designed to accommodate a new limb, which, it's probably going to happen anyway. "It's harder with the more skintight stuff and tails that are really thick at the base, but you should be fine. All else fails and we can't have something that looks good in time, we'll make sure you've got like a tunic or something nice and hip-covering. It's cool."
Julien's familiar with pants retailored to hide tails from back home, but he's been adjusting here. The simple standby of reversed pants, using the fly as a tail-hole, is awkward to pull on in practice and doesn't look great with costumes, but there are plenty of other options. "If you want something with a tail sleeve that'll take a bit longer but, hey, this is exactly the situation we've got a magic mannequin for."
