OPEN

Who: Rita and YOU!
When: Day 28-29
Where: Around Rita's trailer.
What: Someone left catnip at Rita's trailer, cuteness commences, also general in-between-event stuff for anyone who wants it!

[home videos / open]

Passing through the trailer yard, one might find Rita crouched outside Trailer 19. Her wings seem to be missing several feathers, but beyond that, she appears to be unharmed and in good health despite all the recent chaos.

In fact, she's actually... having... fun?

The space just outside the trailer door appears to be heavily sprinkled with catnip and mint, and her Litten, Francis, purrs up a storm as he rolls around in it. Rita appears to be filming his adorable antics with a handheld video camera, grinning all the while. She doesn't immediately notice if someone else happens to be nearby.

[wildcard!]

Alternatively, Rita might be seen around the carnival, reading a book she picked up in Wismuth, putting the finishing touches on a thick manuscript she's been writing, or just hanging around the training grounds, trailer park, or cookhouse. If you want to do something else with Rita, feel free to tag with a different starter, or hit me up on plurk ([plurk.com profile] pzue) to plot!

Unfortunately, Lambert's like static: he tends to stick to you when you'd least like him to.

"Did Foster actually let you see that book?" He raises a brow. "What'd you think of it?"

Foster is a creep, no getting around that. But though Rita doesn't seem to have particularly enjoyed working with him, she's also not recoiling with disgust or freaking out ... neither of which she's proven to be shy about in the past. Though if Lambert hadn't ordered Foster, he wonders if he would have cooperated at all.

"You could probably use him as a book rest if you had to," he says dryly. He's only half-joking.

At any rate, he reaches into a pocket, tugging forth a piece of paper covered in Foster's handwriting, which Rita may or may not be familiar with. "When I asked him for a summary, he gave me this. Not exactly convenient, obviously -- but if nothing else, it gives you an idea of what's in the book." He pauses, grimacing. "I don't know if it's any use beyond what we already know -- that the fae are pretty damn powerful."

“I told him to give me a summary, but keep it short so I could understand it.” Lambert shrugs. “Guess he took that a bit too seriously.”

Hence where Rita comes in. “He only brought it up because he thought the part about Creation was important. Obviously, considering who we’ve run into, I’m more interested in the fae ... but I’m not a mage and I have better things to do than read books all day.”

“Why should I, when I’ve got you and Strange to do it for me?” Lambert returns, raising a brow and grinning at her. He knows where his strengths are, and speed reading most certainly isn’t one of them. “Too bad you don’t have that book anymore. It was handy.”

When Rita goes on, though, his expression grows more thoughtful to match.

“Write it down,” he tells her. “I know Strange is working on a book, but we can’t just count on that. One person having all the pieces isn’t going to work.” If something happens to one of them... goes implied. He’s sure she can fill in that blank herself.

"Just give me something that's easier to understand than Foster's," Lambert snorts. Surely that should be a low enough bar for Rita to clear, right? But on the subject of Strange writing a book about fae, her apparent lack of awareness about that fact makes him blink.

"You didn't know? Would've thought you'd be one of the first people he'd go running to." Both of them being far too attached to reading and all the rest.

"He's writing a memoir about being in a fae carnival. Can't avoid talking about the fae in something like that." There's a bit of a frown on his face, just thinking about it, but he shakes it off.
