[CARLY PROMPT | D:28 - 29]

She comes back from the concert, and immediately falls asleep. Holding her pokemon close, curling into her bed and drowning everything she can out with her pillows and the light flooding her trailer. And her first morning back is no different. She acts as though nothing has changed-she gets the schedules together, she looks over what needs to be done, what was left behind in her swift retreat to the void, and within a span of hours she's already got sewing machines churning and a pot of coffee on hand. Her tongue sucks in as much of the drink as possible as she goes, and she moves like a woman possessed, dedicated to her work.

It isn't as though it was something that would make her cry. She never hurt anyone, not physically, and if anything most of the sharper blows came back to her.

But somehow she can't bring herself to think about it because at the end of the day she gave in she gave up and while it was supernaturally impossible to avoid in the long run it's still just SO-!

"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuugghhh....I can't believe I did thaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt..."

[WARDROBE - CARLY & YUUSEI (or others, even!) | D30 (Evening) - D32]

The Wardrobe tent hasn't changed much in the last week, and by changed that means 'properly tidied'. Julien has been doing a pretty incredible job of upkeep, but nothing can save it from the chaos between worlds, a chaos that stretches in through the first bit of Performance week.

Naturally this means Carly is there, hard at work-but she's also not alone. A young teen-dressed to fit more with engineering if anything, given oil and grease stains on his gloves and jacket- seems to shadow Carly for a few days, and every now and then she pokes her head from her work to ask 'Yuusei' how he's doing. The teen looks somewhat distant from it all, not through disinterest but instead sheer unfamiliarity that Carly seems absolutely dedicated to 'solving'. She flits back and forth, occasionally a bird, occasionally not, and finally eventually settles on tasking him with a few things to dust up what was woefully abandoned during their last location. 'Don't worry about it!~' is what she insists when he asks why nothing was done beyond bare minimum for the last week, and instead she gets to work at sewing various fabrics, piecing together any updated costumes and things.

The mannequin as usual stands where it is, and far in the back the recycler bubbles. It's time to start the work-week once again, and with aliens to entertain the sky is truly the limit! But then, are you here for someone to fit you, or are you here for work?

Did you sign on for the space olympics? Well regardless of if you end up placing or not, Carly's job is to make people shine on stage-and that could include you! Come over and get yourself a costume for such thrilling events as Space Swords, Space Wrestling, or even Space Competitve Eating! GO FOR GOLD-!

And try not to come in at the last minute, she's busy enough as it is!

[And boy. That's some damage.] HHEEEEHHHH!!! YUUGO WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOURSELF..!!

You see I just thought that for one of my stunts, I should jump through a ring of fire that I lit myself! [Which explains the touch of ozone alongside the licks of charring on his suit.]

So that's what I did! And landed it! Mostly. Like it wasn't quite through the exact center, but I didn't screw up the trick.

YOUR ENTIRE COSTUME IS LITERALLY SMOKING STILL..!! [She yelps, hands on her head.] What on earth were you thinking, you're supposed to practice those things!!

Well practice is important sure, but when you're doing the real thing it's still a bit different you know?

[He's still making excuses though. There's definitely no way to defuse Carly's panic at this point. Yugo's aware of this and still tries anyhow.]

Practice still helps the real thing work properly..! [she scolds, hands on her hips.

And then one hand just goes straight for the ear to pull him over, actually.] Over here..! I need to find out what needs replacing....

[This is probably reminding Yuusei of...Something.]

It is, admittedly, quite a sight to behold, what Yuusei is witnessing here. Enough, actually, to bring him out of his corner and follow the pair as they move across the tent. Mostly, though, it's because he recognises that name, and it takes him a moment to realise why.

He opens his mouth to say something, but at first he chokes up. He doesn't want to interrupt, this isn't his place (and furthermore he's stuck marvelling at Yuugo's everything). But it's going to be his place, he tells himself, so he may as well take a step to make himself more comfortable. That's why he's shadowing in the first place, isn't it?

And yet all he manages to say to the kid once Carly's a little more focused on her work...

"...nice tail," he comments to him. "It's... really cool."

And does Yugo notice the young man trailing after them at all as he whines about Carly yanking one of the reptilian fins that are his ears? Nope.

But he's not deaf. So by the time the displeased and fretting bird 'mom' releases him, Yugo jumps in surprise when Yusei says that. His tail is cool? Well after a pause that includes instinctively flicking his sharp tail tip against the ground, the teen manages to figure out what he should probably respond with in turn.

"Uh. Thanks, yeah! It's uh, my dragon's tail." For a moment Yugo peers back at Carly, then to the stranger before him again, confused. "... Who are you anyway?" he then asks.

"Your dragon's? Like your ace monster?" There we go, that's a little more natural-sounding.

...and then it goes right back to being somewhat stilted, realising how absolutely awkward he must've sounded just a second ago (he knew it was a little weird But Still), and he tilts his head down. "Ah... My name is Yuusei," he greets, slipping off one of his gloves and extending a bared hand to shake ~~(gotta keep that ever-lingering grease from getting everywhere, man)~~. "I'm from the same place as Carly. She told me about you earlier."

He shoots a quick glance to the birb, admittedly unsure if she'll answer him. "This is the Yuugo you told me about, right?" Boy if he's just made a fool of himself...

"Ah-" Well, Yuusei has certainly taken notice of things. For a few moments, Carly stays silent, watching the exchange-eventually however, both are asking questions, and she jumps. "Mn! It is!" she replies, looking to Yuugo. "Yuugo, this is Yuusei! He's from my world...so I'm showing him around a little before he makes a contract, neh?"

Looking back to Yuusei then, she continues. "Yuugo here, is one of the Daredevils in the big top; he uses a D-Wheel in his stunts~" It's great~

Except when he sets himself ablaze, naturally.

The question about the dragon gets a nod. But soon enough comes the proper introductions being exchanged with Carly's help and it gets Yugo grinning again, back to his usual sort of bold confidence.

"So you came from the same place huh? But yeah that's right!" is what Yugo says while taking Yusei's hand for the offered shake.

One might quickly observe they're almost opposites in demeanor; this kid seems to hold himself about as proudly as a certain dragon of his would, but the two adults in the room might choose a different and more familiar comparison. Yugo also has a feeling that since this guy knows what having an ace monster means-

"Do you duel too, Yusei?" Because look who's raring to go for a good challenge ASAP.

"It's good to meet you, then." Now that the anxiety of having potentially spoken very awkwardly to the wrong person have dissipated, Yuusei offers a smile. Indeed, his mind does wander to think of how similar this kid is to Jack, but the particular kind of energy is something that Jack somewhat lacks nowadays. Jack isn't as cheery anymore, he doesn't think.

But Jack isn't here right now, so there's no sense in dwelling on him. "I do duel," he responds, a glimmer seeming to come into his lightly-narrowed eyes. "Carly told me you built a d-wheel yourself as well; is it the same one you use in your stunts?"

The duel drive is spot on Jack. The cheer.... ..well if Yuusei were to mention Jack, the cheer and 'fanboying' would be spot on Rua, frankly. Not that Carly realizes. She just watches and contemplates stepping aside to let the boys chat away.

...Contemplates, and then remembers why they are here. "...Yuugo, before you get into that, I do need your top so that I can look over this..." she notes dryly, pursing her lips at what she already sees.

"Oh... right, that." Yugo answers lamely at Carly, since he definitely would've kept going with Yusei and forget one of the reasons he stopped by. With practiced meticulousness he unzips the jacket and strips it off despite the large almost wing-like crystal growths on his back.

.... On the thought of why else wanted to come Yugo finally remembers whatever else was originally on his mind as he's handing her the jacket.

"And if you're still gonna be busy for a while Carly, could we still find time later for just the two of us to talk? I'm not in a hurry for that to be fixed either way."

Yes, That. She watches with crossed arms as the jacket is removed, before uncrossing them to take them. And-

"Heh?" Oh? She blinks, and then nods. "...We could after I'm done working, yeah..."

It's more than good enough for Yugo. With that confirmed, he just smiles and nods back in return.

"Anyway I heard there's some kind of party going on by the lake. So I'll be checking that out if it's still going by the time I change out of these." the teen looks between the two.

"You both gonna be there?"

Yuusei's the one who answers for the two of them. "We're planning on going." He shoots Carly a glance, a very 'I'm surprised he will be as well' sort of look that questions Yuugo's age at the same time. He remembers some of the words spoken over Carly's radio earlier on, and in particular he recalls the mention of alcohol and how it isn't a party (even though Carly certainly treated it that way).

He remembers some other things as well... "Although I'm not sure how long I'll be there," he adds in admittance. If Carly's going to spend some alone time with a friend of hers (more than a friend? he didn't bother asking), he isn't confident he'll be as well-received should he be caught without her. But they'll just have to see.

"I guess we're bringing snacks of some sort."

You can make Yuugo as tall and late-teen looking as you want, but he'll always be obviously 14 in the end.

Carly for her part just shrugs. She can't control this menace look at him. "We're going for sure! Yuusei and I set some poke-beans in the oven even~ They're basically roasted soybeans like that, so they're good with salt." she remarks, beaming. "I thought it would be a good way for him to meet others here~"

Yes, a great idea.

This kid wouldn't deny being the same strong-willed and bull-headed youth that first joined the carnival. It's just lucky for him that Carly wanted to be his newest someone to help keep his head on straight, to make sure he doesn't run into as much trouble as he would have without that sort of supervision. Which has had mixed results. Some things about people just don't change.

"I don't see a problem with that...!"

And then with a friendly nudge with his balled up fist bumping Yusei's shoulder Yugo adds, "So I guess by then we can talk more later yeah?"

Because he'll be more than happy to ramble about D-Wheels and his dragon, the best duel partner he's ever had. And talk about his home with the help of his really cool and convenient magic memory album.

People can change to some degree, but there'll always be those things about them that remain static and refuse to die out. Sometimes that's for the better.

Yuusei blinks from the nudge but nods and flashes a broadening smile - a grin, maybe, even. "Yeah, definitely. I'll try to come find you. We're both pretty hard to miss, I imagine." Even if Yuusei hasn't undergone any changes of any sort, he does admittedly stand out in a crowd.

He's visibly more relaxed than before. He's starting to feel sort of... at home in this bizarre carnival. It's certainly more welcoming than Neo Domino.

...looking the boy before him over again, his eyes seem to soften. Yuugo would probably like Neo Domino City. He just has a feeling.

"Of course, of course!" Carly encourages, beaming. And then, with a frown. "...But if you ruin your next costume this quickly, I'm not going to be the one fitting you... ...I'll have Nui do that, directly," she warns.

If people think Carly is excitable in the tent after all...well. Nui lives for fashion. "And I'll tell her why..!" Ah, there's the threat, then. "...We'll see you at the party though, ok?"

Yugo isn't entirely aware of how much of a serious warning that is, but he still has a feeling that it would probably be for the better if he doesn't find out.

"Sure. Got it. Definitely... see you there, yep...!"

Yugo briefly waves goodbye to the both of them as he goes off toward the direction of the trailers to eventually change clothes like said he would.
