GO FOR GOLD (in style)
Who: The Wardrobe Department, AND YOU (and Yuusei, before he signed a contract)
When: Day 28 - Day 34
Where: The WARDROBE TENT
What: FASHION MINGLE...+ Carly tries to get back into the swing of things, and also she's brought A Friend
Warnings: NAH
[CARLY PROMPT | D:28 - 29]
She comes back from the concert, and immediately falls asleep. Holding her pokemon close, curling into her bed and drowning everything she can out with her pillows and the light flooding her trailer. And her first morning back is no different. She acts as though nothing has changed-she gets the schedules together, she looks over what needs to be done, what was left behind in her swift retreat to the void, and within a span of hours she's already got sewing machines churning and a pot of coffee on hand. Her tongue sucks in as much of the drink as possible as she goes, and she moves like a woman possessed, dedicated to her work.
It isn't as though it was something that would make her cry. She never hurt anyone, not physically, and if anything most of the sharper blows came back to her.
But somehow she can't bring herself to think about it because at the end of the day she gave in she gave up and while it was supernaturally impossible to avoid in the long run it's still just SO-!
"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuugghhh....I can't believe I did thaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt..."
EMBARASSING...
[WARDROBE - CARLY & YUUSEI (or others, even!) | D30 (Evening) - D32]
The Wardrobe tent hasn't changed much in the last week, and by changed that means 'properly tidied'. Julien has been doing a pretty incredible job of upkeep, but nothing can save it from the chaos between worlds, a chaos that stretches in through the first bit of Performance week.
Naturally this means Carly is there, hard at work-but she's also not alone. A young teen-dressed to fit more with engineering if anything, given oil and grease stains on his gloves and jacket- seems to shadow Carly for a few days, and every now and then she pokes her head from her work to ask 'Yuusei' how he's doing. The teen looks somewhat distant from it all, not through disinterest but instead sheer unfamiliarity that Carly seems absolutely dedicated to 'solving'. She flits back and forth, occasionally a bird, occasionally not, and finally eventually settles on tasking him with a few things to dust up what was woefully abandoned during their last location. 'Don't worry about it!~' is what she insists when he asks why nothing was done beyond bare minimum for the last week, and instead she gets to work at sewing various fabrics, piecing together any updated costumes and things.
The mannequin as usual stands where it is, and far in the back the recycler bubbles. It's time to start the work-week once again, and with aliens to entertain the sky is truly the limit! But then, are you here for someone to fit you, or are you here for work?
[BONUS - YOU'RE A WINNER | D33-34]
Did you sign on for the space olympics? Well regardless of if you end up placing or not, Carly's job is to make people shine on stage-and that could include you! Come over and get yourself a costume for such thrilling events as Space Swords, Space Wrestling, or even Space Competitve Eating! GO FOR GOLD-!
And try not to come in at the last minute, she's busy enough as it is!
[[OOC - This is technically a mingle! Carly will be handling most things, but for Day 30-32, there is also the potential to have Yuusei Fudo- who is tailing Carly at that time- tag in instead. Other Wardrobe employees can also tag, but since many of them have noted a heavy tag load at the moment, I'm asking that people not request specific muses! Beyond that, treat the log as Carly's own 'mingle top', and have at! Yuusei should have a unique prompt option below, later.]]

"Eh, you're not too in the way," he says cheerfully, and turns his back to start wiping down some scissors. A couple of spectral eyes open to watch the newbie, round and interested. "Thinking about joining us, or would your skills lie elsewhere?"
no subject
Yuusei's eyes follow the very blue man as he moves around the tent, glancing up to the disembodied eyes and offering them a nod of acknowledgement. "My strengths mostly involve mechanics of some sort." That at least explains the garage smell. "I'd really be in the way if I truly worked here in this division."
He pauses. "My name's Yuusei. You are...?"
no subject
He turns his head, moving the palps out of the way so he can smile broadly without them covering it. "Julien! Julien Delacroix, it's a pleasure to meet you." He pronounces it the French way, Zhulien Delacroi.
no subject
He huffs softly as if to laugh, and then Yuusei nods, his smile broadening. "Nice to meet you too."
no subject
"Wellll, she might if you made it worse. Some of the 'repayment' things are a little..." He shrugs expressively. "Tell you what, I'll just tell you not to bother if it looks too fiddly. So you're not signed at all yet, huh? Thinking about just what you want?"
no subject
He folds his arms across his chest, humming in thought. "That... is fair. I wouldn't want you getting in trouble over it, either." He nods at Julien's next question. "Mhm, Carly's letting me tail her for a few days so I can get a feel for the place while I think it over."
no subject
"Smart choice. Yeah, a sometimes-dangerous year with us that leaves you altered is a pretty big commitment!" He flicks out one of his palps in demonstration at altered. "All right, I'll just roll this back up and then I'll show you."
no subject
Altered indeed. "What did you ask for?" he inquires as his arms return to his sides while he watches. "...if you don't want to answer, you don't have to." He isn't sure exactly how personal of a question that really is, and the last thing he wants to do is make anyone uncomfortable.
no subject
"Heh. It's fine! You're actually the first person to ask me." He's still not sure if there's some kind of general taboo on the question or not, he hasn't asked, himself, but Julien doesn't see any reason not to answer truthfully. "Help against interdimensional invaders. They want something in my reality and that's just not cool."
With a glance back over his shoulder he starts heading towards one of the workstations dominated by a big, imposing sewing machine, with a casing covered in what looks like years of colorful stickers. Along the places where it opens up they've been cut through so it isn't sealed.
comes in thirteen years late with no memory of anything
"I see..." Yuusei nods lightly. 'Inter-dimensional invaders' could mean quite a number of things, and in particular he's reminded of the Dark Signers - while they weren't exactly 'inter-dimensional', they were an otherworldly threat that he gave his all to defeat. And the Dark Signers were defeated! But he starts to wonder, then... "The Ringmaster has that kind of power?" He recalls the Ringmaster having given Carly her memories of being a Dark Signer back to her. What else can she possibly do, then?
As they approach the sewing machine, Yuusei crosses his arms once again, tilting his head as he looks over the device and quietly admires the assortment of stickers. "What exactly is the problem?"
no subject
Even granted that some very bad things have happened to him already, and he's not halfway through yet. Julien pops the case, revealing an almost solid mass of wires and components. "It's working okay for now, but the pitch of it when it's running isn't right, not as even as it should be, and that usually means in a day or so the feed dogs will start getting weird."
no subject
Which leaves him with little development of what he could possibly ask for.
In the meantime, Yuusei focuses on the singer to occupy his thoughts, appearing to scan over the machine's interior as soon as the case is removed. He nods slowly with Julien's explanations, but for the most part he's quiet. He did agree, after all, to simply look at first and not touch in case he should break it and manage to earn debt or a punishment with the Ringmaster before even officially signing on. What a waste that would be!
But eventually he hums to himself with a slight narrowing of the eyes. "...I could look this over a little more if you'd like when you're not working. If-" he shoots a glance to Carly elsewhere in the tent, "-there's a time it definitely won't be used. I don't want to be in anyone's way."
no subject
Some sewing machine issues, Julien knows how to navigate, some he doesn't. He thinks he could figure this out himself given some trial and error. Any fiddling he did that didn't help can get fixed by someone coming in from Repairs, the kind of damage you have to do before it leads to more contracted time is different when you're already in.
"Eh." He shrugs. "It's just good to know what kind of stuff you'll end up doing. The tech level here is kinda all over the place but I think it's usually along this level, not computer-based or that kind of thing."
no subject
He steps back away from the sewing machine, hands propped conclusively on his hips. "It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to fix, in any case." He says little else on the matter; his previous concerns still hold. "Thanks for letting me take a look. It's a good thing to know."
