Who: 9S and Lapis
What: Two people being shitheels to each other :)
When: Backdated to before the final showdown in Wismuth
Where: Out on the Wismuth streets
Warnings: Space racism and general jerkassery
Even as everyone is preparing for the big showdown with CY-Ren, 9S is still on the lookout for the Harbingers and their familiars. He hasn't run into all of them yet, but given the people who've gone missing have generally been seemingly brainwashed -- damn, the Carnival sure has a problem with that, doesn't it? -- 9S has been treating every encounter with some modicrum of caution.
So when he spots Lapis, he jumps down from the nearby building and lands a short distance away from her. Amazingly, his high heels don't break.
"It's you. I suppose Peridot will be happy you're still around."
His familiar, Foster, isn't with him; he'd ordered Foster to keep the Void's creations off of Noa and the other Guardians. So it's just him and Lapis today.
"So, are you going to come back to the Carnival? Or do I have to make you?"
Granted, he hasn't had much success in bringing back anyone who's been in contact with CY-Ren so far, but Lapis doesn't have to know that.

She only spares 9S a quick look, and promptly sticks her tongue out at him. An irate, childish raccoon. "I'm not going anywhere, especially where Peridot is." Peridot burned that bridge when she betrayed her and Steven and Connie, as far as Lapis is concerned! Besides, Lapis is far more confident in her abilities like this, and while she isn't goig to outright attack 9S (She has more important things to do, and creation is Awful), she is going to turn her back on him and try and leave.

"Yeah? Sorry," not sorry, "but you're coming back whether you like it or not. You either come with me, or I make you come with me. I don't care which."

Another reason to end everything, isn't it?
"Why would I want to go back to somewhere like the carnival? It's awful there. I could care less if it leaves without me."

"I thought you and Peridot were friends."
His opinion of the Carnival is far more positive. He can't really see why anyone would hate it, other than the people unwillingly recruited. Sure, the people can drive people batty, but they weren't bad. Besides, didn't Lapis want to go home? How's she going to do that if she's not with the Carnival?
9S gives a snort. "But I guess aliens don't really have those, do they?"
And here he thought that maybe he could understand Lapis, a little.

"I have friends other than Peridot. Ones who understand." Steven... He doesn't quite get it, but Lapis can accept that, as long as they're working for the same side. Connie too, but to a lesser extent.
"So just go away and leave me alone!"
A nearby firehydrant explodes in a torrent of water, and Lapis aims the high powered torrent right towards him.
