[CLOSED TO YUUYA | D72]
In some ways, it was an easy decision. Even with the liklihood of the Ringmaster agreeing to refit the armor for Reiji, the man was himself a form of 'liability'. Despite being older, and presumably more mature in some ways than a few people there, he had also signed on for a 'surprise', and had absolutely zero understanding of just what he was getting into. He could not fight.
In fact, a run in with Coco later on after he'd signed a contract proved it perhaps even worse when he thought he could fight at all.
But then in so many other ways, it was the most difficult decision yet. Reira herself refused to leave. Not to go back to his mother, not to go back to that world, when she found so many new things, so many meaningful things, in this one. It felt more as though if anywhere could be home...this was it. She called it such, in fact.
Not even war would change that, and she insisted until the bitter end that she could handle it. She had a shield. She had a horn, to call for help. And she knew how to stay out of trouble, she knew...
Reiji did not argue with her.
It did not stop him from leaving the Carnival for 'until things were better' however.
After they finished camping, he went to the Ringmaster and arranged for the 'pause' on his contract- leaving behind what few belongings he had gathered in the trailer (including, rather ironically, the armor and helm that were still sized to a young teenaged girl), and giving one final awkward hug before passing through the gates.
He was gone. For how long, Reira didn't know. She told herself it wouldn't be too long, but...
The girl opens her trailer door with a click, and lets it swing softly closed. Her eagle is already nesting in the cloud bed- her sparrow tucked beside it, the two having gotten along better now that they had Experiences With Mothmen bringing them together.
Reira however simply finds herself moving to the trailer's couch, taking as many stuffed animals in her arms as possible and clutching them close in the dark.
[D73 - 77]
After a bit of brainstorming, it seemed Carly finally chose a particular set of tasks for Reira to handle within the group that was 'Resources'. In the end, her list was rather small; most of her work would be 'prepratory', but without much heavy lifting. In essence, she would be playing Courier. It left plenty of down-time for things like her school work and personal magic practice, and even free-time, but it still took a bit of time for tasks each day.
The job, Carly stressed to her, would be 'On Call'; keep the radio on, and if she called her, she would be required to answer.
From there, she'd worked with Yuusei to jerry-rig some sort of trailer cart to the little one's bike. It'd make it much easier to transport things, they explained.
But so far there hasn't been a whole lot to do. They're just getting started she supposes, so for now she's driving around to familiarize herself with everything- that, and as she pokes her head into whatever tent or trailer or meeting place a particular group has set up, or she can Ask if anyone needs something.
So she's doing that now.
"...Hello," she starts, trying not to feel especially nervous depending on what's been interrupted. "...I'm supposed to ask people what they need to do things, or if they want snacks, or something moved..." She's not really sure how many other things there could be. Probably a lot. Hopefully people can fill in the blanks.
...
"...What are you doing?" She's curious ok-

Yuya gently squeezes her, to pull her from her thoughts. "If it is, you don't have to make yourself look at it yet. He probably has an idea already..."
no subject
"I thought he knew lots of things. I guess he still does, but..." Well.
"..There's lots of things he doesn't know, either..."
no subject
He knew more about the situation than anyone else had, anyway. He'd had some sort of plan, so Yuya can't imagine he's totally ignorant of Reira's history any more than what his mom was doing to her.
"You should worry about when you're ready to look at them instead."
no subject
And he's right about having to look at them first anyway. "...I know there were lots of bad things," she says quietly. "...I don't know what can be worse than bad things I remember though."
no subject
She should put herself first for something like this.
no subject
Bugger. He's right that she shouldn't focus on these photos, but-
"...I still have to get them out of the bag..."
Yes this has been bugging her. Perhaps it wouldn't have been as upsetting without Reiji there-but now? Now it is. He's gone, it'll be a long time before she sees him again, and now there's a bunch of scary pictures in her bag.
no subject
That's easy. If the problem is that she doesn't want to peek at them getting them out, Yuya can manage that.
no subject
She just needs to get this from her little bunk-bed shelf.
no subject
"Do you have a pen? So we can label it." Or maybe she'd rather not, Yuya just figures it can't hurt.

Courtesy of the Space Olympics, so everything has Porgs on it. But she does come down with a folder (also bearing a Large Porg), and a sharpie marker of some sort.
"...It can be this one, since there's a weapon on it." Johann the Porg, Expert Space Marksman-!
no subject
"Sure thing." He grins before uncapping the sharpie, contemplating for a minute. He decides to write down Reira's Old Memories on the folder before crouching by her bag.
"Okay, I'll get your photos in the folder and we'll put them someplace safe." He waits for her confirmation before he unzips the backpack.
no subject
She sits patiently however, looking away.
no subject
He slides them securely into the folder and holds it tightly shut with both hands, rising to his feet and turning to Reira. "Okay, I got them! Where do you want to put it?"
no subject
She eventually points to where some of Reiji's things would've once been stored in a cabinet. It's nice and empty now (not that it was especially full in the first place), so that works. "There?"
no subject
He smiles, gauging Reira's response with that skeleton put back in the closet.
no subject
"..Thanks Yuuya."
no subject
He glances around the trailer once. "Are you hungry?"
no subject
no subject
"What about ice cream?" It's the middle of the day, and he's gonna suggest dessert.
a cute end...
"Y..Yeah..! Ice cream sounds good..!!"
Ice cream it is.
