Well, the tease are certainly there, but that first spear is finally coming back down as a big distant speck-

And now it's coming down with a lot more force than one would expect. For all that the hippo's ~master plan~ is apparently in play however, the presence of the tease seems to unnerve them. Taking a half step back, they ponder something..before attempting to weigh down the tease.

The key word is attempting- there's a reason they haven't just made the 'heretics' a bunch of pancakes.
