Strange knows just how worried Lambert must be. After all, he remembers having the same type of worry when the thing that he thought was Arabella lay dying in her bed. Very gingerly, Strange pulls back somewhat so he can actually look Lambert in the eye.

"He'll pull through this. Childermass has been in worse scrapes before," that's debatable but that's what Strange is sticking with, "and I suspect the Ringmaster would have already taken his soul if he was in danger of dying."
