[OPEN] we were strangers on a crazy adventure
Who: Lambert and YOU
When: In the time the Ringmaster gives them to make up their minds.
Where: In the newly-reformed Carnival.
What: Bother him about recent events and about the choices ahead.
Warnings: Lambert's potty mouth, references to past violence, etc.
The Carnival has really seen better days.
That's Lambert's first thought, at least, surveying what's left of his material possessions. Now that it isn't stuffed away in drawers or hidden in boxes, it mostly amounts to a not-inconsiderable amount of jewelry and various novelty clothing, as well as some of the Solstice presents he received with less military applications. Pig and Butcher have been left free to wander around as they please in the stripped-down Carnival while Lambert lazily flicks through his belongings -- a book here, a necklace there -- and sorts through it all. Perhaps surprisingly, for the amount of time they've been with the Carnival, there isn't too much.
When he hears someone else come up to him, he speaks without looking over his shoulder, the flat joke varying:
"What do you think the chances are of her bringing back the springs right now?"
"Seems like a good time for a nap, doesn't it?"
"So, you made up your mind about becoming a god or not yet?"

Well he acknowledged the whole immortal thing and all, but now Yuya's second guessing it. Who will he have if Yuya dies, too? Is he really prepared for that? What about them as an item, what happens to that when he dies?
Yuya they talked about it, they just didn't think about fifty years down the road.
"I. Thought he has to know what he's doing..." But he doesn't look so certain. Maybe he should talk to him again, before he takes it--just in case.
"What about you?"

He’s being pretty blasé about it, but then again, they’re talking power on a scale he doesn’t really comprehend. It could be possible. Who the hell knows with these things. As for Yuya’s question, the answer is straightforward enough.
“I’m taking it.”

Yuya shakes his head, looking at Lambert with an imploring expression. "Why"
He wants to hear all his thinking, because now he thinks he didn't hear enough of Gon's.

“For starters,” Lambert says, matter of fact, “We’re probably going to need this power if we’re heading into the Winter Court. I don’t know how much of a fight we’re looking at, but I don’t think she’s letting us in with open arms.”
His tail lashes, and he glances over his shoulder. “Second, I’m pretty sure that it’ll make me prettier.” Because like, has Yuya seen the fae? Seriously.
“And third ... well, Childermass is a faeblood now. That makes him immortal. So I’ve got a good reason to stick around.”
no subject
"You really want forever with him, right?" Yuya brings his gaze back up. Yuya's pretty sure that's what he wants too, he doesn't know why he feels so uncertain about the choice he should make.
no subject
“Yeah,” Lambert affirms. “Haven’t talked to him about it yet, though. He’s probably going to say something like ‘you haven’t thought this through’ or ‘you don’t know if you’ll change your mind,’ though. He thinks like you. He cares about all this not having powers you shouldn’t stuff.”
no subject
He worries over his lip, his shoulders sinking just a little. Lambert has absolutely no qualms about the power boost, and it doesn't surprise Yuya.
"... You wouldn't hesitate to be immortal to be with him, no matter what else it's like. Would you?"
Yuya's sure he's made the right choice on the basis of not taking that power. He's suddenly less certain about not following Gongenzaka into a life of it.

"I'll talk to him again. If it's really what he wants..." If it is, and this is Yuya's only chance to join him, he should. Shouldn't he? He has to have confidence in his feelings somewhere.
no subject
“If it wasn’t him making the decision, what would you do, anyway?”
no subject
"I think I wouldn't take it, all that power. Not unless nobody else was, and I had to." But so far quite a few people he's talked to have confirmed their intention to go for it, so he doesn't think it's necessary.
