RETURNING HOME↴![]() About 45 minutes after the conflict with the vampires begins, the Ringmaster will finally show her face at the Masquerade - and immediately be mortified by what she sees. Though initially mostly confused by the fact that there's been problems over the week, and characteristically obtuse about what's going on, as soon as she realizes the severity of the threat she will launch into action. If the Host managed to miss the combat already going on, they won't be able to miss the Ringmaster tearing up the joint and looking for her people. She's quick to scoop up those that have managed to gather in the dining hall - but unfortunately her arrival seems to be the vampire's cue to retreat. Her attempt to challenge the Host about this will result in the being finally losing their patience and banishing all the vampires and all of the carnival workers from the premises, forcing them back to the portals they arrived from and launching their remaining belongings out with them. The Ringmaster will be pretty fucking pissed off when they return (once again) and will tell everyone to take the time they need to recover, but to stick together and stay safe for the time being. She has a plan to chase down the carnival members that have been stolen, but it will take time. ► BEER PONG: Apparently the Ringmaster spent the entire week playing a nonstop game of beer pong, against several dozen of the Host's bodies. She hadn't quite won yet when the Masquerade began, so she was late. Whether or not she was caught up in the same spell as everyone else is up to interpretation, but the answer "definitely probably." She won, for the record. ► MISSING: Upon doing headcounts, it will turn out that all the supervisors are missing, as well as several regular workers - a few of which will have been spotted as freshly turned vampires during the fighting. Whether that was the point of the attack or not is unclear, but it's pretty clear that the Ringmaster is a little bit devastated about it - particularly about the supervisors. However, she will refuse to talk to anyone long enough to get into too many details. ► THE PLAN: The Ringmaster will announce that she intends to get everyone back - it's just a matter of figuring out their way back to the dimension they've been stolen off to. She guarantees that she will find it, but that it may take some time. In the end, the workers will have a total of two days to recover and plan - during the evening of Day 67, she will be leading a rescue mission to get them all back. You don't have to come, but lives do depend on its success. |
SCOUTING TENT TIME
HHHREHEHEEHHHHAAAAAAA-!! [And now there are papers everywhere.
Carly smells like Demon. As far as her world would be concerned she even looked it; the whites of her eyes as black as her feathers and velvety skin, numerous glowing marks all over the body where her ball dress doesn't cover. She didn't bother changing.
The really wasn't time for that sort of thing. As it is, while her shadow seems to outright draw back from Cas' presence, Carly has no real sense of angels vs demons and all that jazz. Aslla Piscu might recognize the energy of something 'Bad' for him, but Carly doesn't care.
Carly just cares that her poor undead heart just about gave out.] S-SOME WARNING WOULD BE GOOD, THANK YOU..! This is a really BAD time for-
H-Hey! [she continues, clutching her reports.] Who are you anyway?!

[The dark scent in the air is an unpleasant one, but Castiel doesn't show it. He doesn't show much of anything at her fear for that matter. He watches calmly as the tornado of paperwork goes up. One sheet is captured and offered back to her as if that made up for all the rest see-sawing down on them.]
I did say 'hello'. It's appropriate when entering. [The fact that he flat out appears and might startle someone is lost on him. The Winchesters have tried and failed to get that into his memory.]
I am Castiel. The Ring Master knows me. [Being unrecognised has never been a bad thing for the angel.] You appear to be dead. Is this normal for you?
no subject
...M...most people don't catch that right away... [Ah-she shakes her surprise off however, stammering.] I-I was picked up in the Netherrealm though, it's really a long story! [Not to be confused with the Netherworld of ghosts they once visited.] But I guess since I was already dead there, I'm still dead now..?
Apparently I'm about to be revived back home, so it'll be okay~ The Ringmaster is even going to make sure I don't forget everything about that~! [The shadow appears to be grumbling audbily about this, but says nothing that makes actual words.] Ah...
[Carly coughs.] A-Anyway, there's a lot that has to get sorted out, and the Nightrider isn't even here, so I'm still trying to get all these notes together, and-
...Did you come for something?
no subject
[He says that in all seriousness. Humans like to change things, and Castiel is willing to go along with it to a degree. There are limits to what he'll do. The bit about her being dead is left without further comment with her story. None of it makes sense, but he's learned that sometimes it's best to nod and keep going. Maybe it will make sense later.]
[His attention lifts to the shadow, taking a look over it. He often has to remind himself that this is not his world, not playing by the rules he knows. There's enough politeness in him not to mention reminding the Ringmaster so she doesn't forget.]
I was told none of the Supervisors are in the Carnival's boundaries. I thought it best to see for myself and if any vampires were hiding out.

I didn't even hear you come in through the door! So all I heard was you say 'hello', without even any knowledge that you ever came in! It's really scary you know, I almost attacked!!
[Don't worry Carly, you'd have done Zilch.
Still-the mention of the supervisors tones Carly down, and she quickly resumes a more serious stance.] ...It's not just the supervisors, [she admits quietly.] ...We still don't know who exactly is missing, but some of the workers...Sora, and Lauren...they were turned, and we couldn't get all of them away from the vampires either..!
...We got Lauren, at least, but... [Well. It's an issue no matter wha- aaaaaaaaa...] AH!! O-On that note, if you find a vampire, c-check to see if they have leaves in their hair first!! That's Lauren, so don't arrest them or anyth-
[Wait.] ...Hey who are you anyway....
no subject
I didn't use the door. Had you attacked me, I would have deserved it.
[He's not entirely sure this person could have done much damage to him, with or without the demon attached, but there is truth in what he says. Had she struck back, he would have deserved it for scaring her. His unwavering attention meets the rest of what she says even the parts he disagrees with. Should he find any vampires, they will quickly be among the dead with their souls on the way to Purgatory. This girl is too easily upset for him to bring that into the conversation.]
If the vampires took them, I doubt they are here at the Carnival with us. Here, the Ringmaster could - they are not here. [Because here, the Ringmaster controlled things, and she would have already been trapping them or helping them. He doubts there would be much hiding from her on the carnival grounds.]
I am Castiel. What is your estimate of how many of ours they have taken? Turned?
no subject
[It's beginning to become questionable, if she's easily 'upset' or just highly emotive.
It's probably both.] Mnn! I-If you're so sure then... ...S-still, it's probably good for you to know that Lauren was turned at least...
[Ahem. She frowns.] ...I don't know...obviously, all of the supervisors are gone, but...well, Sora is missing, and I know for sure he was turned...there were definitely at least two or three others....
(I'm assuming this is the same character?)
[Which is his polite way of saying that should she approach him, it might be best he knows she's coming. Angels were warriors, and a lifetime beginning long before the first fish flopped on earth and breathed oxygen is not easily denied.]
I do not know a 'Lauren', but I will keep her in mind. [The same is true of anyone named 'Sora'. Seems that he'll have to be careful of any vampires he meets. He kills any of the other Carnival people and the Ringmaster probably won't be pleased.] I knew about the Supervisors. The Ringmaster was pleased to see me. I am the only one remaining. But that may help. I doubt these vampires expect something like me to attack in return.
[Cas doesn't doubt for a moment that they will be raiding the vampire nest to get back their people. From what he knows of the Ringmaster, elusive creature that she is, that she'd let go of what is hers easily.]
lmao yep....
She does at least seem canny to one other thing though-] ...You seem pretty hard to surprise, but I'll be careful! Ah...something like you...though? ...What 'are' you, in that case..?
[The way he puts it, it's obviously something fairly inhuman, but she can't really think of anything off the top of her head. Anything odd could be explained away with 'carnival changes' if it had to be explained at all, so anything other than human or even fae just...doesn't occur to her.]
no subject
[Humans and their oddities. Angels didn't exactly have the same problem, capable of taking a male or female body given what was available. Castiel himself could have just as easily taken over Jimmy or his daughter and had. But he would keep in mind to look for a human with leaves in their hair named 'Lauren'.]
I'm an angel. Are there any of those 'turned' remaining inside the Carnival?
[He doesn't say why, of course. Not exactly something he wants to tell an excitable sort like this that he needs to see if he can exorcise the vampire/demon out or not. Or at least get a good look at one.]
no subject
[Probably a good point to keep in mind. Still, Carly shakes her head.] ...We couldn't get anyone else back, as far as I've heard... Right now we don't even know how many more are still missing, actually..! This list of employees really isn't complete at all, we're stuck on word of mouth..!
[And woaaaaaaaaaaaah-] ....An angel?
Oh!! Like the ones from churches?
[yes....the ones from 'churches'...]
no subject
[The names weren't ones that Castiel would forget. He could recite from memory entire family lines back from Adam and Eve if he had to. Would he look specifically for them? Um, sadly, probably not. Faced with what was before them, Castiel's mind is in other places than finding two humans, but if it comforted this odd one, he is willing to say what is needed.]
From churches. [There's a deadpan as he says that. Sam and Dean would have been rolling on the floor laughing, but all Castiel gives her is a mildly puzzled look.] That would depend on the church. Most do have statues of what they believe we look like. Those stories are wrong more often than they are right.
But yes, an angel from... church.
[He's trying here, Carly. Have mercy.]

[Erm...she blinks, apparently confused now. It depends??? Does it really depend??] They're supposed to be big with large stained glass windows, and lots of seats, and crosses?
They're really different from the temples at home, I know that much!! [ThANKS, JAPAN. But at least she's trying to explain herself as well..?]
