RETURNING HOME↴![]() About 45 minutes after the conflict with the vampires begins, the Ringmaster will finally show her face at the Masquerade - and immediately be mortified by what she sees. Though initially mostly confused by the fact that there's been problems over the week, and characteristically obtuse about what's going on, as soon as she realizes the severity of the threat she will launch into action. If the Host managed to miss the combat already going on, they won't be able to miss the Ringmaster tearing up the joint and looking for her people. She's quick to scoop up those that have managed to gather in the dining hall - but unfortunately her arrival seems to be the vampire's cue to retreat. Her attempt to challenge the Host about this will result in the being finally losing their patience and banishing all the vampires and all of the carnival workers from the premises, forcing them back to the portals they arrived from and launching their remaining belongings out with them. The Ringmaster will be pretty fucking pissed off when they return (once again) and will tell everyone to take the time they need to recover, but to stick together and stay safe for the time being. She has a plan to chase down the carnival members that have been stolen, but it will take time. ► BEER PONG: Apparently the Ringmaster spent the entire week playing a nonstop game of beer pong, against several dozen of the Host's bodies. She hadn't quite won yet when the Masquerade began, so she was late. Whether or not she was caught up in the same spell as everyone else is up to interpretation, but the answer "definitely probably." She won, for the record. ► MISSING: Upon doing headcounts, it will turn out that all the supervisors are missing, as well as several regular workers - a few of which will have been spotted as freshly turned vampires during the fighting. Whether that was the point of the attack or not is unclear, but it's pretty clear that the Ringmaster is a little bit devastated about it - particularly about the supervisors. However, she will refuse to talk to anyone long enough to get into too many details. ► THE PLAN: The Ringmaster will announce that she intends to get everyone back - it's just a matter of figuring out their way back to the dimension they've been stolen off to. She guarantees that she will find it, but that it may take some time. In the end, the workers will have a total of two days to recover and plan - during the evening of Day 67, she will be leading a rescue mission to get them all back. You don't have to come, but lives do depend on its success. |
Papyrus | ota
It just figures that Papyrus' feet have changed to be longer and cat-like... when Sans isn't there to laugh with him about it. Just like it figured that Papyrus gained all the prestige and popularity he wanted... when Undyne wasn't there to appreciate it with him.
If he wasn't the sort to work hard at always looking on the bright side of things, then he'd think some kind of terrible misfortune was following him.
After that week of delirious distraction interspersed with arguments with people who didn't get swept away, and the sight of a vampire hauling a chained Sans away faster than even Papyrus could run...
Well, it sounds like a good time to clean the entire park single-handed. Even if the cinder spirits have handled things just fine in their absence, with the utter lack of guests or workers messing the place up. Excessive cleaning gives him something to do.
At the sight of one of the bone dogs, though, all work is on hold so he can go pet the dog and see if, just maybe, his brother had come back after all?
► PLANNING FOR DANGER
There's no question that Papyrus is going on the rescue mission. None at all.
The question is, what does everybody know about vampires? What could he do to better keep them from hurting people?
Any remaining senior members, or people who got hurt in the fighting, expect a skeleton to come to you with questions.

That changed a few hours ago. Since then, all they've been doing is tearing up the treeline of that carnival, howling and baying for attention, as they searched to find out here their master had gone. When people start returning it only becomes more frantic. Others are here, but Sans isn't here.
As soon as they smell Papyrus, they recognize the similarity. Roman bounds in his direction while the other two follow a little more cautiously - watching as their sibling starts jumping at Papyrus's feet, whining pitifully.

"Oh. He's... not back, then," Papyrus realizes, closing his eyesockets for a second to try to hold back a sudden wet feeling in them. But the whining's demanding, and the more distant slight clatter sounds tell him the others are lurking around, too.
If he had a throat, he'd be plagued by the feeling of something in it as he swallowed. Instead, he just shivers and sits down to pet Roman. "Sorry, dog friend. I'm not my brother. We'll all... just have to work extra hard, to get him back here. Whenever the Ringmaster finishes her idea."

Papyrus's friendly behaviour lures in Times, too, who comes to flop down by his side and make plaintive half howls - its the only way they really know to explain what they're missing. New still hangs off at a distance, looking at Papyrus suspiciously, as if he's an impostor.
Roman listens to what Papyrus says, and then dashes a short distance away from him - only to look back expectantly, as if they'er expecting the skeleton to follow. They have someone to go right?
They come back a few moments later when Papyrus doesn't immediately follow, bouncing on their paws as if they're trying to encourage Papyrus to get going. He knows where Sans is, right? Is that what he was saying? It's harder to communicate with people that aren't Sans - he always knows what they mean.
Missing people
Sans the goat aspects.
He had been avoiding his trailer, had been avoiding going to Viktor's just to make sure it hadn't all been a dream or something and had just been trying to distract himself. Like Papyrus, cleaning had sounded like a good option to Yuuri.
In the midst of the first break he'd taken since starting this little project, Yuuri is startled out of his thoughts by the sound of someone close by. He blinks, eyes which are now far more goat-like than they had been prior to the carnival party focusing on Papyrus.
"...Need some help?" he offered, forcing himself to get up from his seat. May as well combine their forces, right? Yeah..

Being a skeleton from a world of monsters, peoples' changes are never very alarming to Papyrus. If anything, a lot of the time the fur and scales and horns are comforting reminders of home. The plants are a little bit weird, though.
"If you want to clean, I won't refuse you! The task is never finished, and I have only two hands." Papyrus looks down at his hands and shivers. "N-not that I need more than two hands. Or want them. Two is fine."

"I know what you mean," Yuuri said softly, giving the other a faint smile before he started to push his jacket sleeves up. "The more helping, the faster it'll get done. And then it'll...it'll be ready for when everyone else comes back." It was said with a bit of force optimism, Yuuri honestly dreading news that there wasn't going to be any way to get the missing carnival members back.
But he was doing his best not to think about that.
"...I'm Yuuri, by the way. I don't think we've met before."

As he rambles, he considers Yuuri's face and hair decorations, looking for something he recognizes. But there's nothing obviously outstanding about him, and that's a wash. Just the recognition of the shared quandary of things just slowly growing out of their heads. Rocks out of bone, vines out of fleshy stuff... They should all really pester the doctor for itch lotions when she's back.
"Well, I don't remember meeting. If you don't recognize me... There's too few skeletons to mistake me for anybody." Most of those have already left the carnival, too, just leaving his brother. And surely no one would mistake them for each other. "I am Papyrus!"
