[CLOSED] vampire slap fight

Who: Sans and Amethyst
When: After RM makes her stupid announcement about being mortal.
Where: Supervisor Grove
What: Sans wants to share some valuable Supervisor deets with Amethyst because the Ringmaster is acting hella suspicious and he doesn't trust her to keep the carnival's ass out of the fire.
Warnings: Sans is boozing it up a bit.

It's not really clear what is more absurd: the way that Sans's magical goblet is creating a vague cloud of wine in the water around him, or the fact that he's drinking said wine with a straw. This could be a dangerous habit if it weren't for the fact that he is not generally going to be submerged in water in the future. At the very lest he'll have to go over to the sink to get his fix.

But that isn't the case right now.

So, Sans is enjoying himself, clearly, and both him and Amethyst happen to be hanging out in the metaphorical garage they call their trailer, and at some point it occurs to him that he has something he should probably talk about. Maybe he wouldn't if he was less buzzed, but it doesn't matter. Sober him is just a coward, probably.

"Hey, Ame," he calls over to wherever she is in the trailer, his trilobite body half rolled up on the couch. "C'mere I gotta tell you somethin'."

It's still not worth standing up.

"Huh?" Amethyst bloops her tentacles and rotates right way up from where she's been armpit deep in some kind of wind instrument -- something's fallen in there but being underwater means she can't just shake it out. "What's up, bone dogg?"

"Uhh..." Amethyst frowns a little. This isn't really typical of Sans. "She said she spat soda all over herself."

She blinks.

"Whoah," she says. She's drifting in her surprise, shocked out of maintaining the gently undulating tentacle movements required to keep her in one spot. "Whoah, wait – are you for real? No way." Her voice cracks a little. "They can't be."

"No. No way," she says again. "Sans, c'mon, they can't... Steven's here."

Amethyst runs a hand back through her hair, which leaves both of her eyes visible for rather longer than usual thanks to the fact that they're underwater. Both of them are staring at a point on the floor that currently isn't occupied by any distressing chalkware dogs.

"I guess... we just gotta take 'em down if they catch up, right." She doesn't sound super enthusiastic.

Not for the first time, Amethyst wishes Garnet or Pearl was here. She enjoys working under Sans, he's a fun boss, but his leadership doesn't make her feel more secure about a bad situation the way the other Crystal Gems' seniority does.

She guesses she felt kind of that way when Garnet had to step up, after Rose... after Steven. But... Garnet was always... Garnet. Looking up to her and Pearl has always come naturally, even when she's resented it. The fact that Sans is about on her level in terms of responsibility is one of the reasons she likes him. It just doesn't make this situation very reassuring.

Amethyst sighs, coiling one of her tentacles around the tuba. "Better you than me, man."

"Probably..." Amethyst shrugs lopsidedly, a rare look of sympathy crossing her half-hidden face. She manages a little bit of a smile, although it's not a particularly happy expression. "I wouldn't blame ya, though."
