Who: Susan and Lauren
When: sometime. after Susan gets Sans' letter. i'm good at this.
Where: their trailer
What: Susan tells Lauren about their quest
Susan was very pleased about getting a response back that basically amounted to his apology going over well. Sure, they had to actually do something to still get the staff back, but it couldn't be that hard, right? Quests were fun, they did them all the time, and this one might be weird but who cares, it's still something to do.
And so he happily goes inside, letter in hand, the door only barely shutting behind him before he's already talking.
"Lauren, guess what? We have an adventure we have to go on!"

"What are you talking about?"

"What?" Lauren asks, only looking more confused thanks to Susan's response.

"I wrote him a letter to say sorry for what you did. And he said he would give back your staff if we get him a shirt."
no subject
"You wrote a letter apologizing for me?" Disbelief colors his voice.

"You can't apologize for me. I'm not sorry about what I did and you can't tell people I am!"

"Then how come they can talk and walk and fight like people?"

But clerics too could revive the deceased, was that really much different from the strange circumstances these other beings had found themselves in? He didn't know, he hadn't asked. It didn't matter.
"I don't care. You can't just speak on my behalf without talking to me about it first."

It isn't often that Susan gets mad at his brother, but this is definitely one of those times. He thought Lauren would be happy that he didn't have to talk to anyone to get his staff back, but apparently his brother was too caught up on this dumb skeleton thing to even care about it. He turns around after shouting at him, heading straight back out the door and to the strange forest surrounding everything.

"Lauren?"

"Up here!"
no subject
"You should just come down!"

He sighs, before rolling over to a crouching position and clambering over the edge of the trailer. He drops to the ground landing on his feet in front of his brother. He frowns, looking slightly uncomfortable.
"Hey."
no subject
"I found a really cool tree. You should see it sometime."
no subject
Of course Susan's normally cheerful demeanor doesn't do much to make him feel at ease. He looks down, kicking at the ground with his boots.
"Yeah."
no subject
"...Are you mad at me?"
no subject
"No."
no subject
"...Okay. Then, we should go inside." Not because he likes it inside (although it's kind of fun, still, to him), but because it's just the two of them that way. Or four, if you count Fluff and Stanley, but close enough.

Lauren just nods. Only looking to Susan briefly before turning around to head inside.

"I thought, maybe you wouldn't want to talk to him on your own, but I didn't want you to not have your staff. I'm sorry I made you mad."
no subject
Lauren looks at him on the bed, before he moves to sit there two.
"No. It's okay. I'm sorry I started shouting at you."
no subject
"If you don't want to do it, that's okay, too. I know you don't like him... But all he wants is a shirt and I thought it would be fun."
no subject
Lauren just frowning, running his fingers over the blankets stitching.
"Even if I found whatever he wanted I wouldn't be able to get it back like that."

It's such a complicated feeling, he doesn't have any idea how he can even begin to explain. "I don't want to do anything to help someone like that."
They very thought fills him with a terrible combination of shame, anger, and disgust.

"I don't know."

no subject
"Okay. Let's do it."
no subject
"I don't know where to go though to find one."

He hasn't checked that out yet, anyway, so it'll be fun.
