What: Yuzu gets some of her answers from her friends.

Performance week caught them faster than expected, and before Yuya realized it more than a few days passed from when he promised Gongenzaka that they'd talk to Yuzu. He doesn't have an act to perform for today, so he pressed Yuzu over the radio for the chance that they could meet at her trailer, before collecting Gongenzaka. He's holding Koemi a little too tightly as he knocks on the door to let her know they've arrived.

Once Yuzu opens the door, Yuya takes a deep breath and smiles. It's a little forced, but he doesn't want to start this conversation upset. It'd find its way there anyway.

"Hey, Yuzu... uh, I guess there's a lot to explain, so can we sit inside?"

Yuzu let out a slight sigh, shaking her head. "To be honest, I think I should have been left in the dark about some of these things. What Reira told me, what she did, was enough to... well... really shake me."

She does smile a bit. "I'm still a little sore at you guys, but I can forgive you for it. Though, I guess you're wondering about what I do know."

She lets out a sigh. "I know about the four Yuyas. And I know about the four mes... and that the four mes were one person, but that's all I know."

"If you don't want us to tell you--" He glances aside to Gongenzaka as he cuts himself off, wrestling with Koemi a bit before she wedges herself out of his arms because he's holding too tightly, and instead squishes against his side.

Yuzu's chance to back out might have to come a little later, however, because he stares at her with dread knotting his stomach. Well, it's a good thing they agreed to talk about that first, isn't it? How much has it been bothering her to know only part of the story, with nothing but her imagination to fill in the blanks?

"That's... it's the truth. It was you, and Ruri, and Rin, and Serena. It's the same with us. You remember Yuto? We were the same person, too."

Apology accepted, but certainly not without cost. Marishi moves cautiously over toward Yuzu's daemon, before sitting down to offer a bit of comfort. Gongenzaka himself however, remains seated where he is, nodding. "...Aah. A man named 'Zarc'. ...However... ...If you truly do not wish to hear more, we can respect that, certainly. It is your decision."

"Haaa... and there is the problem." Yuzu said, sighing. "On one hand, I want to know. I need to know. I don't like being left in the dark. But, what Reira told me, what little she did... it shook me. Scared me. It still seems farfetched and all, but..."

She shook her head at that. "I'm still not sure if I'm ready... or if I'll ever be ready. At least right now."

"It's what your contract is for, right?" But he had the same conflict about telling her, so he understands this. Ultimately, though, this isn't about his feelings--it's about Yuzu's. It's about her comfort and her happiness and that's all Yuya's wanted, in all of this.

Which is what also drowns out the last bit of uncertainty about it. Yuya can't be hesitant and reluctant when Yuzu isn't even sure what she wants. He wants her to trust him, whether it's to tell her the truth or to let her wait until she's ready. Not get influenced by how bothered he is on the subject.

So with a deep breath Yuya stands so that he can stand closer to Yuzu, reaching to place his hands gently on her shoulders, if she'll allow it, and looks at her very seriously. "Yuzu, I won't hide anything from you. I'll tell you anything you want to know, and if you don't want to know then I won't bring it up. Whatever you want, everything's still going to be okay. It's fine."

"Aah, if that is what you came for... ...then it will no doubt happen when the time is right." All the same.... ...He is a bit worried, as much as he tries to internalize.

Marishi is the one who speaks instead. "....Be careful how you judge yourself however-sometimes our greatest option is to jump in before doubt strikes. That doesn't mean doing so now-but in the future, it may be that 'moment'."

"It is what I came here for, Yuya." Yuzu said, smiling a bit. "But, if I have to have it, I'd rather it be when it's good and ready."

She can't help but chuckle. "I'm sure the Ringmaster probably already has the answer, but is keeping it silent. I wouldn't blame her. After what little I found out, if I found out everything right then and there, I don't know if I could have handled it."

Yuya glances aside briefly because he knows the Ringmaster has at least part of the story from a lot of different sources. He's not sure how he feels about her being the one to tell Yuzu because, as much as he respects her, she isn't... a gentle person at all.

He looks back to her and nods. "So you don't want me to tell you anything yet? I'll tell Reira and Yugo too if that's what you want."

"A-Auuh...it would...probably be best for us to head them off, in that case..." Especially Reira, given she Lives Here.

Yuzu thought about this for a moment before deciding to speak up. "As long as it isn't about me, Yuya. But... since we're on that subject... you know about Sora, don't you?"

[hippocarnival]

Nothing about Yuzu--all right. He can do that easily. His face scrunches up a little because... the truth about Sora isn't going to start nicely. But he's their friend and Yuzu should know the truth.

"Yeah..." He pulls his hands back and stands up straight again. "Sora's from another dimension, one where they mostly fusion summon. They have a duel school there called Academia, where they train people to use dueling to fight!"

Or trained. He deeply hopes that when Leo's brought down from power, it'll be able to change. "Shun and Yuto are from the XYZ dimension, which... was invaded by Academia. Sora's part of Academia so that's why they hate each other." He waves his hand quickly.

"But Sora left them! You know, he really is our friend, so he left Academia to help us instead."

[otoko]

"Aaauh," Gongenzaka agrees, nodding. "....It is a long or short story depending on how one looks at it, but... ...Sora not only joined our side, but was key in the fight against Academia in the long run."

Not to mention Zarc, rather frankly....but that's not something to really focus on.

Yuzu let that sink in a bit. Okay, so Sora IS good. That was good. But, now this thing about fighting groups from other dimensions?

"...did we get caught up in a war?" she asked. "We're just kids! We shouldn't be doing things like that!"

"Uh--" Okay, yeah, sure. They shouldn't be, but Yuzu was the one in trouble and Yuya sure as hell wasn't going to sit back and wait for Reiji to save her even if he did forcibly conscript Yuya into the fight against his will.

While he's momentarily dazed by that thought, Koemi hops over to join Gon and Yuzu's daemons.

"Yeah, we did. But Academia invaded us while the Maiami Championship was happening, so we didn't really have a lot of choice." He quickly realizes how bad that sounds and waves his hands quickly. "But we stopped them! Maiami didn't get destroyed."

[otoko]

"...More than that, Yuzu... ...that war was caused by the one who kidnapped Kurosaki's sister, Ruri."

"No doubt you can connect those dots together," Marishi adds, albeit with some worry at the edge of her voice.

[fusionactuallysuitsher]

Yep, she could indeed connected the dots, leaving her to sigh and rub her forehead in distress.

"...this doesn't make sense. I-I mean, it does, but... it seems so far-fetched!" Yuzu proclaimed.

"I didn't believe it at first either, but... it's really true," he sounds a little more defeated at that. There's really no way he can make this easier to stomach. He hasn't spent a lot of time thinking about it, but--it's really messed up, isn't it? Things were so normal for them until a few months ago, and now Yuzu just has to believe all of this.

"...It is...complicated, as you can imagine."

"Especially so the more it's explained, I will admit." The pair of them sigh, and look to Yuzu with concern.

"...As I, the man Gongenzaka, have sworn however-we will do everything in our power to keep from flooding you with such news."

Marishi nods, frowning herself. "Indeed... ...Frankly, I'm a little worried we've already said too much, right after you wished to hear nothing more." Oops.
