Who: Amethyst and anyone who's still at the Carnival while the Hunt Take 2 is going on
When: Day 178
Where: Around the Carnival
What: Amethyst picked a bit of an awkward time to get brought back.
A: for people who feel like explaining to her what is going on
"Hellooooo?"
Amethyst peers around the edge of a trailer. It's not like she was expecting a parade or anything, but... it's daytime, and so far, since she emerged out of the woods and onto the grounds of the Carnival proper, she hasn't seen anybody.
She figures, probably, they've just stopped off somewhere and the Ringmaster's let everyone go look around and they're all just, shopping, or exploring, or something totally fine and not dangerous. But
-- well, maybe it's just because she'd been kind of gearing herself up for some enthusiastic reunions while she was making her way through the forest, but she can't help but feel a little worried?
Which sucks. She hates feeling worried.
"Maaan... Everyone better not be getting up to something awesome without me," she says aloud, and kicks a rock. It bounces off the nearest trailer... Or the nearest person. Whichever.
B: for people who do not
After she's gotten filled in on what's actually going on, Amethyst doesn't settle down much. She kind of wants to just take a nap in a big heap of familiar Carnival trash? But her trailer, it figures, is locked, because something's wrong with the Warden, whose name she can't remember, which is messed up, and she kind of really wants to go see what's going on and try and help or something except that it sounds like someone who doesn't know what's been going on since the Carnival got here going out there might not be a great idea...
So she ends up just heading to the Cookhouse and trying to distract herself with food. ('Food'.) (In this instance, technically a sandwich. Better not to ask for more details.)

"....I guess that means you have to wait until the contest is over, though..." ...She should. Maybe explain. Said contest.

But it's far from usual-even she's aware of that. Part of her would rather not ruin that. But the other....
Reira chews her lip, and looks down a moment. It's better to tell the truth after all. "Ummh... ...It's...not a good one," she eventually says. "...But explaining why isn't short-it's a 'long story'," she manages, pulling the term from something she'd heard awkwardly traded between others earlier in her stay.
"...We have the time but... ....Long stories normally aren't nice ones, I think. ....This one really isn't."

"And they also took some of the others from the Carnival-so now the Ringmaster has to fight for them, but..." She chews her lip.
"...'The Prince' chose what the contest was. ....And said it would be a 'hunt', where he'd bring the 'animals' back after they were killed. ....but the animals are going to be the people he took."
So that's....something to take in.

"Wait... wait. You're tellin' me... this Prince guy... has taken a buncha people from the Carnival, and now everyone who's gone off to do this 'contest' has to try and kill them?"
