well, i think i see another side, maybe [OPEN]
Who: June and YOU!
When: Day 28
Where: the trailer park, the medical tent, Around
What: Mom has arrived! Come say hello. Maybe bring one of those molded jello trays. Everyone loves those.
The last thing June was expecting when wandering into a carnival she hadn’t heard was coming to town was to get tricked into some kind of arcane contract by a mysterious being, but then, last week she’d been kidnapped in the trunk of a transforming alien sports car, so these days, she doesn’t really know what to expect. She is pretty annoyed about the part where she’d been manipulated into it, and if it weren’t for the promise that she’d be returned home afterward...well, she doesn’t know how solid that guarantee really is, but she doesn’t have much choice but to trust the Ringmaster right now. It’s not that June is opposed to a little adventure now and then, but she has responsibilities. Jack doesn’t exactly have a dad anymore, and while the Autobots have proven to be dedicated guardians, he still needs his mother. That’s what June’s telling herself, and it’s true — but if she were honest, the prospect of going an entire year without seeing her only son is...a little bit of a difficult one.
She’ll make do while she’s here, though, and they’re apparently in need of medical staff, and that’s something she can do. As long as she’s able to help people, keep busy, she’ll be alright. She hopes the people around here are at least a little less...eccentric than the Ringmaster seems to be.

June is doing her best to settle into her trailer — she doesn’t have much with her, but she’s trying to at least make it feel cozy. Mostly so far it feels more...dorm-y, which simultaneously makes her feel both younger and older than her actual age. Hopefully in the near future she'll have more of a chance to collect some decor, plant some flowers, make this place feel a little more homey -- but for now, it'll do. Well, the mailbox is a little crooked, but she can fix that.
"Home sweet home," she sighs wryly, righting the mailbox and stepping back to have a look at her trailer, just to take it all in. It's a lot to take in. After a moment, the mailbox lists to the side again with a squeak.
Ah, well.
medical tent
Seeing as this is where she'll be working, June might as well familiarize herself with the medical facilities. Well...what facilities they have to speak of, anyway. She wasn't exactly expecting a fully-outfitted emergency ward, but she was sort of envisioning something more than...a tent. Well, she'll make do -- she always does, and she's got enough experience to make up for it.
She hasn't met the doctor yet -- West, she's pretty sure his name is -- but she's glad there is a doctor on staff, at least. (Later, when she finally meets him, she will retract that statement.) He's got a little office partitioned off in here, and while June is ordinarily the 'respect other people's privacy' type, she is definitely having a little look around, just to see what they've got to work with.
June hasn't met any of the other staff yet either, and she isn't exactly set up to work, but hey, she's still in her scrubs, and if anyone comes in needing treatment, she'll do her best to help them.

"Reviving corpses?" Seriously??? She sounds both incredulous and, again, appalled. "And this man is in charge of medical?"

When he notices the new woman, wearing scrubs at that, he pauses for a moment to assess her, but Yukio seems to have things handled. He can greet the new employee when he's done with the Noctus. He continues on to a table near the examination areas with a fish tank absolutely full of this thing, and promptly upends the fish into the tank. Honestly, he's been a little concerned about the Noctus, as nearly the entire medical staff was too occupied with Void nonsense to be looking after it. It seems. Probably fine? It's hard to tell. It grabs the fish, anyway.
Herbert takes the opportunity to take some more notes down on a notebook near the tank. It's never entirely clear to him how it eats, and it's not as if he has multiple Nocti going that he can just dissect. Observation alone will have to do.

At least Herbert is pretty obviously demonstrating exactly what Yukio was talking about.

"Excuse me," she says pointedly, following Herbert in quick strikes. "Are you Dr. West? I'm June Darby. The new nurse."

"Yeees. Dr West." A brief polite smile flickers over his face and disappears much too quickly. "Dr. Herbert. West--I was expecting you today..." A pause, for analysis. "...Mrs Darby." Or is it safer to say Miss? He never knows with women. Too late, now. "I've been occupied elsewhere without the chance to, check in on...my pet." He sounds almost questioning. Is that the phrasing he wants? "So you'll understand I needed to be, certain it was healthy first."
Herbert glances back. The fish seem to be gone now, so he fishes in his pocket and pulls out a plastic spoon, which he drops into the tank. The Noctus starts excitedly touching it and waving it around as he looks at June again. "Iiit's good you've joined. We've needed a qualified nurse for some time."
