When: Day 115
Where: Polaris
What: On the morning of day 115, a couple hours before the technicians would come to pick up the test subjects, the escape plan will officially come into effect. If your character has been left out of the loop up till this point, feel free that someone hastily explains the plan during the initial phase! The meat of everything else will be played out via megathreads and any private toplevels people want to make.
Warnings: Probably violence.

PEER REVIEW↴ The plan starts with getting everyone out of their cells. Childermass is going to be using his Gilded Mark to enhance his shadow movement abilities, unabling him to teleport himself and other people out of containment. If your character has other ways of escaping they are free to pursue that, but on a base level, it can be assumed that everyone gets out thanks to Childermass. (Thanks Childermass!) Once everyone has been removed from their cells by some means or another, they will be forced to split into teams as swiftly as possible, as the moment people start breaking out, negative attention from the staff will start building. The area is poorly guarded at first, but as people become aware of the breakout, more will arrive. Gild, speaking on behalf of her inside plant, will say that those that 1) want to get their stuff back, 2) want to find Ignatius, should get the assistance of their allied Deltas to access sector A5. From there, they will have to access Polaris's storage in A3, a neighbouring sector, and find access to C2, the station where Ignatius is being held. They should expect to be met with armed resistance, but with any luck allies will be there to assist them. In general, characters will be most effective if they back one of these major objectives: ► TEAM LOOT: This team is trying to get back the items and pets that were confiscated when the group was brought into Polaris. Their objective, according to their allies on the inside, is to get to A5, and then make their way to A3. The important thing is being able to locate their stuff among a sea of other items, and to make it through security in order to reclaim it. Gild's plant has said that they will assist with this. After getting these items, Team Loot may wish to merge with Team Rescue. ► TEAM RESCUE: This team's primary focus is to get to A5 and then make their way to C2. If desired, they may wait for or join with Team Loot, or they may strike out ahead in order to take advantage of the element of surprise. The key factors are obtaining a way to access C2, as well as being prepared for armed conflict with the technicians guarding it, as well as possibly the Mother of Invention herself. Though, the ideal is that Gild will be distracting here at that time. ► TEAM DISTRACTION: This team can do their thing wherever they please, as their main intent is to sew general discord and distract the staff from the teams doing more important things. They should be prepared for armed resistance, but what tactics they pursue beyond that point are highly variable. ► TEAM FORTRESS: This team is attempting to set up a protective base of operations in the original sector in order to survive the conflict and protect their noncombatant comrades. How they accomplish this is also highly variable. Other objectives may exist, of course, and can be made with their own separate top levels. Chunks of these megathreads will have to be played out in summary form, so when characters are simply trying to get from place to place and specifics aren't necessary, feel free to stick to that format. Assume that everyone is already out of their cells for the purpose of the megathreads. Here is a shitty map of how the sectors connect, from a side view of the central Polaris hub.

Carly grimaces. "...I can at least move the one, if I try...the other one just hurts too much, so it's probably only that..." she says softly. "...Sore from...whatever they put in your chest?" she asks, not expecting there to be anything else in between.

"Want me to see if I can find something for you to prop your back up on? Or your leg, but I don't want to move it. It's whatever you want, though."

He settles down next to her, though not anywhere she can't lull her head away from. "...don't worry about it. I'm not in pain anymore."

"Ah...that would be good," Carly decides quietly. "...I think if I keep laying here like this, I'll just end up falling asleep, and miss everything..."

...Ahhh... But she continues to look at Yuusei's face, silent for but a moment. "...You're sure..?" she manages softly.

[alphudo]

Yuusei's gaze drifts toward the entrance to the tuck shop. "...I suppose so."

He turns to briefly depart, glancing behind him as a last-second check of certainty before scouring the shop for something to let Carly rest her back against. He's only gone for a few minutes, though, and he returns empty-handed.

"There isn't much in these open areas," he informs, "and all the apartments are closed off. Sorry if I got your hopes up..."

As he moves to settle down next to Carly again, his lips purse. "...actually, do you mind if I move you again? I have an idea."

"Heh..?" Carly blinks a bit owlishly for a good second or two, trying to piece out what Yuusei's plan is. But with no idea, and nothing to really say to it, she nods.

"Ahh...just make sure you're careful, of course!" she insists, nodding. Not that he wouldn't be but...y'know.

Be careful.

He's as careful as he can afford to be, putting an arm under her legs again and holding gingerly onto what looks like an intact portion of Carly's broken leg. Resting her back against his other arm, he lifts her off the ground, but he only moves her a few feet away from the wall, setting her back down again shortly after. He doesn't let go of her upper body just yet, though, taking a moment to move behind her before finally letting go so she can lean against his side.

If Yuusei couldn't find anything, then maybe he himself will be fine.

"Is this... okay...?"

It takes a bit to realize just what Yuusei is doing- but it's pretty obvious when he sits down himself, and Carly turns her head about to make sure she doesn't disorient herself; spikes there, spikes over there as well...and there's the other's upper body, right-

She leans back, and smiles. "...It's fine," she replies. "...It's sort of nice~ You're warm."

[alphudo]

"Warm?" He's not sure why this strikes him as so surprising, what with the uncomfortable itch of heat in both his blood and his heart gnawing at his bones over the last two or so weeks. Time has really ticked by in a manner unable to be calculated despite each day being labelled practically before their eyes. It's like everything just melted together in the end. "I suppose so."

Even so, though the time was hard to measure, the things that happened are ever-present in his mind, and though some of those memories will be held with him to the bitter end out of spite alone, others...

"Hey, up here. I want to see your face."

[insidescoop]

"Mnnh! Even before that...mnnh..." She coughs, not really sure of how to bring up the surgery. "...Well, even just after we got here, you were a bit warmer..!" The advantages of flammable blood?

Well. Carly turns her head as requested, even if confusion is clear on her face. "Eh? You want to see my face..?"

[alphudo]

"Yeah, I remember that. Honestly, I'm glad that wasn't a development caused by... everything else." He smiles. "If anything, it... makes me happy that you like it." It's something among all of this that's bearable.

Then Carly looks up at him, and he leans forward to wrap his arms over her shoulders, across her chest. And he kisses her. Properly, for once.

Some of these memories he would rather die than forget.

"It's a nice feeling after all," she compliments with a smile, "And-"

And she doesn't get to finish speaking, because Yuusei's face is far closer than she thought it was, she realizes. Extremely close, in fact, and as his lips press against hers she realizes what he was asking. "Mn-"

And she finds she doesn't mind that at all, bringing her own arms around him to kiss back.
