With the threat of behave or die hanging over their heads, Hinawa is feeling very nervous. She's only tangentially familiar with the rules and regulations of formal dining and mingling, having only experienced it for the first time during the Celebration, and for the most part she's just a simple country gal. The last thing she wants is to get everyone in trouble because she used the wrong fork, and she can't help but feel like she's not the only one, so she comes up with a plan!

She only hopes it'll be enough.

"Let me just state for the record that it wasn't my choice to sign up for this," was Taako's immediate response; even though he had been thoroughly outed as having been forced into the carnival to repay a debt some time ago, he was always certain to point it out at every opportunity. As far as he was concerned, it was still an incredibly unfair punishment for such a minor "crime."

He frowned, leaning in closer over the table.

"As far as I'm concerned, the past few months of my life have all been one big attempt to not be killed by fae I know next to nothing about, so, really, this is just a day that ends in Y for me."

"Things you do without a choice are still things you do." Not many people knew that truth much better than catpeople, so she was still sympathetic nonetheless. "I think you're close to getting a good handle on fae, though. Truth is, I think you're better off treating them as forces of nature than anything else."

"Yeah, except I'm a wizard, so controlling the weather is totally a thing I'm capable of doing," he mumbled. "Or, uh, would be, if I knew certain spells. Anyway, my point is, the weather, I've got that shit on lock, theoretically, but fae? I tried controlling one of those once, and I'm pretty sure it ended up breaking every bone in my fuckin' torso."

"Sure, the localized weather for a fixed period of time," Ash said, unfazed by his claim. "Not on a global scale with absolute precision. We can get the Ringmaster pointed in a given direction for a little bit, but on the whole?"

Ash waved her hands from the air, front to back, like a storm front blowing through.
