let's get down to business
Who: Nightrunners and whoever wants to make use of the training yard for whatever reason.
When: S2 D1-D5
Where: The Training Yard
What: Training, or pointing and laughing at people training.
Warnings: Explosions and swearing, probably.
Though it's never really been off-limits, once they're down off the moon, Lambert wastes little time informing the nightrunners he officially expects them to get back to training and getting in shape. They can make ample use of the training yard facilities to learn how to work with each other after their extended vacation, or just get to know their newer coworkers in an environment closer to what their actual working conditions will actually be like.
The yard, as usual, isn't limited solely to nightrunners. Anyone who wants to work on their physical or magical skills are welcome, as well as anyone from the other departments who have anything they might want to test out that requires a combatant, for some reason.
Lambert's generally a constant presence at the fringes, sometimes participating in exercise or sparring himself, but mostly just watching and making sure no one's about to put someone's eye out or break the equipment, because that would be bad for obvious reasons.
[ ooc; this is an open log, so bring your own toplevel! ]

"UGH!!" She lets out a frustrated cry, then takes a breath, and starts chanting another spell. "Why don't you both just die already!?"
There's a spark as the spell activates, but rather than a fireball or a lightning bolt, there's an oppressive sense in the air within a large circular area... and then gravity slowly starts to weaken, then reverses, pulling its targets upward. This includes 9S; the magic tractor beam may pull him (and Pod 153) the rest of the way out of the moat and straight up into the air. Within the area of the spell, Rita stands unaffected.
"Screw this! I'm going home," Rita huffs, still red-faced and agitated as she turns and storms off. Within seconds, the spell's effect expires, and anyone still suspended by it will suddenly find themselves at the mercy of gravity once more.

"Well," he says, "I think that went pretty well, don't you?"

"I've certainly had training sessions that went worse!" Strange remarks as he gets back on his feet, still wincing slightly. "Though I don't know how much Rita was paying attention."

After that dip in the moat, 9S looks more like a drowned rat than an android. Once he touches down, 9S shakes his head, flinging droplets of water, before trying to wring out the water from his clothes.
"This is all your fault!" he grumble-yells at the two men. "What else did you two say to Rita to tick her off so much!?"
Because he can't imagine the teasing stopped after he got dunked in the lake.
this may look like a shit post tag but it actually is not
"We'll tell you when you're older," he says. Of course, he's just as likely saying that to get a rise out of the android and keep having someone to tease until they all inevitably leave .

"It's an adult thing," he pipes up. "I doubt you'd understand." Never mind the fact that Rita's also a kid, this might get under 9S's skin, so it's happening. Unlike Lambert's lazy look, Strange's smile is straight up a shithead grin. He's being awful and he knows it. Teasing builds character or something like that!
"Though we could tell you, if you want."

Were they talking to Rita about sex? He's starting to learn that whenever people use his age as an excuse not to tell him something, it has something to do with sex.
He COULD leave; he gets the feeling he's going to regret continuing this conversation. But Strange's obvious bait still snags him, hook, line and sinker.
And because it's the thing he always says to convince people to talk whenever people show hesitation about telling him things because of his age, he adds, "I'm a soldier. I can handle it!"
