Fever in the Morning ++ OPEN
Who: Doll and you!
When: S2:D11-D22
Where: Around the carnival
What: Where has Doll been while all this Harbinger/Guardian craziness has been happening? Bedridden at the carnival. Which one of you passed her the mono, hmm?
Warnings: Sniffles, adorable sick thing, potentially contagious.
[Uh, Medic? - Backdated S2:D11]
[Sometime soon after Performance Week, Doll starts looking a little pale and feeling a little off. Of course it's probably nothing-- she's tired, she's been working on new routines, not sleeping as well as she did in a comfy bed on the moon. There are so many reasons she could be feeling off.]
[After her last performance, she sets to cleaning and organizing the makeup in the dressing areas. She finds herself trying to hurry because she's so tired that she just wants to get back to her trailer and go to sleep. Maybe she pushed herself too hard on the rope tonight, because she's never felt this warm after a performance. She's never had double vision after a performance either. Forget the makeup, she needs some air.]
[Doll wobbles outside and tries to sit on one of the nearby storage crates-- but misses and falls over. It's a short trip to the ground and she's not hurt, but wow she's dizzy and her limbs feel like solid weights. Is somebody going to find her like this?]
[Should be in Bed]
[Once Doll realized she was sick and wouldn't be able to hang around Wismuth as much as she'd like, she'd dutifully retired to bed in her and Joker's trailer. And for the most part, she's got everything she needs in there-- except for food. Wrapped in a blanket and determined to be at least a little self-sufficient, Doll shuffles across the grounds heading for the mess hall. It's slow going and she's not exactly keeping a low profile here, but how else is she supposed to get fed?]
[WHAT'S Going on Over There?!]
[Is there some ruckus made after something's gone south in Wismuth? Doll's regular sleep cycle is all kinds of ridiculous from doing nothing but sleeping, so anytime of the day or night if there's somebody making noise outside her curiosity will get the best of her. She'll wrap herself in her trusty blanket, put on her slippers and shuffle out of the trailer to see what's going on.]
Oi-- [And she coughs, her throat not used to doing much talking yet.] What's goin' on?
((OOC Note: The last two prompts can happen any old time, she's kicking around the carnival while plot things happen, feel free to date any interaction whenever! :3b))

What? Do you expect me to disappear the moment you turn your back? [Even if he does consider doing that at times. After that Manor he had done that for weeks avoiding contact.] I can find Ginko later. You don't have to get up.
no subject
I love Mister Ginko, but I dunno where he is now. I'm righ' here. [Doll shuffles back to her next with the box and settles back down. She opens it up and pulls out a roll of bandages, some gauze, and a bottle.]
I've been told this stuff is great-- stings like th'dickens, but better'n a splash'a whiskey. [It's an antiseptic, from the sharp smell that comes out of it as she opens the bottle and puts some on the gauze.] Haven' used it f'r somethin' like this, jus' blisters so far, but I bet it's great.
no subject
I sort of know where he is right now. [It doesn't stop the excuses either way and he'll watch her cough again and reluctantly give into the situation.] If it'll get you to settle down I'll go along with your tough demands.
[Yet a bit of wariness shows on his face as his fingers curl inwards like he wants to retreat.] What is it?
no subject
It's like... soap. Fer wounds. [Very scientific description.] I put it on th'blisters I get durin' practice, heals 'em up real quick without any trouble! Back where Joker 'n me 're from, if ya get too hurt, sometimes ya lose yer leg 'r yer arm. Real risky business. But this makes sure that doesn' happen!
[She holds the bottle out for Tyki to examine while she looks at his hand and starts gently removing the... whatever it is... that's wrapped around his hand.] Y'don' wanna lose yer hand, obviously.
no subject
The world has really moved on despite everything. [It comes off really easy given it is just wrapped and tied in one spot. It almost falls off from how blood soaked it is. He's been using this hand even after it was hurt. A part of him doesn't want her to expend the effort or get his blood on her fingers.] I do rather like my hands. I'm good with them in a lot of ways.
[He could be reassuring and let her know that it would likely heal on its own in a couple of days, good as new, but he doesn't.]
no subject
People are pretty superstitious, right? [She agrees with a nod, pouring some of the antiseptic into the gauze and taking Tyki's hand gently.] Yanno people used ta think that bathing would make ya sick. [She shudders.] Imagine never washin'. Imagine never washin' down there. [Doll squirms in place.]
Alrigh' this'll sting a little. [She starts dabbing gently at the wound, just a little at a time to get him used to the sensation.]
no subject
For me it was less so as much as the look of things. Everything looks a lot cleaner. Methods are explained better. [Ginko was put through the paces when he had to explain every little thing to him.] I may not have bathed every day if I was on the go or traveling but I at least washed where it counted.
[She's gentle and he appreciates that even as it stings. The cut is rather deep to the point something embedded itself within him. Even so, he didn't look like it hurt save for the faintest twitch of his fingertips. It's an ugly wound and she gets blood for every dab in return.]
no subject
Ohhh, ya mean everythin' here! Gosh yeah, th'first time Tamaki showed me a, a micro-wave, I nearly lost my head! [She laughs as she gently cleans the blood away from the cut on his hand before going right for the cut itself.]
Havin' hot water in a minute, amazin'! [She discards the gauze when it's bloody enough and gets another scrap, dousing it in the same antiseptic.] Yanno what the best thing is? Hot baths... [She sighs and snuffles.] Would feel real good ta have one now.
no subject
The light conversation was at least lifting his mood a little.]
That's the best part of this place, Miss Doll. Normally a bath would have to be drawn and it would a hassle to anyone that would. It wasn't always cold by the time I got home. [Even if he never had to actually draw his own bath.] The hot springs are truly a pleasure. It's better than a hot bath.
no subject
Oh have you been? I haven't had th'time jus' yet... Ah. [She frowns gently as she discards another bit of bloody gauze and goes for the bandage.] I know I might feel miles better if I could jus' get all these aches out, but... [Joker would never let her go, and she'll never make it all that way by herself.]
no subject
It's not that far of a walk if you're use to walking and it is within the carnival which just makes it better and accessible at all times. [His brow raises gently as his hand stays there obediently for the most part.] But..?
no subject
Well I can' jus' go over there now. I c'n barely walk as it is... [She starts wrapping Tyki's hand firmly, wrapping the bandage expertly from mid-forearm towards his wrist. About halfway down, she takes another bit of gauze and lays it on his palm before continuing.] If all that's goin' on in Wismuth though, I don' wanna take anybody away from everythin'. 'Specially if some of us were dragged inta that 'Void' thing.
no subject
[And ward off anyone else from approaching though he might request to hold her hand or talk to him so he knows she hasn't dozed off in the water. He's watching his hand now instead of her as she seems to know what she's doing.] If taking you, later on, is better than now so you don't feel so guilty then that's fine. I'm a little burnt out on Wismuth for today at least.
[There is a possibility he will venture back out after midnight when the city is brighter at night unless Zangetsu was sleeping.] Do you want to know who was taken?
FFFF I LOST THIS SORRY
[Meanwhile though, she finishes wrapping Tyki's arm neatly, clipping the end of the bandage with the very useful metal clips]
...guess I should know, yeah? Who was it?
♥
After you eat, that is. Your soup is going to get cold because you're worrying about little old me. [She's done though and he'll flex his fingertips lightly. He knows he'll end up opening it again eventually but it'll do for now.] Thanks.
[And then with careful and slow words he begins to recite the names he has heard:] Papyrus, Amethyst, Mari, Steven, Shima, Lapis, Carly, Childermass, Herbert, Yuugo, Lavellan, Taako, Tanyuu, and Connie.
no subject
[For the most part, she doesn't recognize a lot of the names except for ones she's heard in passing-- except for Carly and Tanyuu. Those get her attention and her face falls.] Oh no... Ginko must be beside himself, is Joker with him?
no subject
He gently takes the plate with the bowl on top and holds it out for her to take along with the spoon. Once she takes it he'll offer her the spoon.] A light chicken noodle with small bits of noodles so it is not so raw on your throat.
When isn't he with Joker? [Said a little too teasingly to be casual.]
no subject
Oh? [Doll smirks a little to herself.] Somethin' happen? [She's saying that far too innocently for it to be a simple question.]
no subject
He snorts at her inquiry.] Wouldn't you like to know, little princess. Eat up.
no subject
no subject
You mean by safety in numbers? Zangetsu is closeby and has been. He was just a little too far out when I got cut. [Cut, he says.]
no subject
[...oh. That. Was a little too much sharing.]
Good. 'M glad ya got somebody watchin' over ya, even if they're not stuck ta yer hip.
no subject
[No, it was the right amount of sharing and now even Tyki looks confused.] He has things to take care of and we're never that far apart.
no subject
[Doll brightens up though.] Exactly! Stuff happens real quick 'round here. S' nice ta have somebody who ain't that far away. Like you!
no subject
He points to her soup to make sure she's eating and talking somewhat at the same time.] Well, there is the possibility that is the case. If they feel anything for each other it would be your hypocritical brother and ginko that would probably not even see it. [Which kind of makes sense now that he thinks about it. Lots of things Tyki says goes right over Ginko's head, or seems to.] I try.
