THE ALIEN HORDES↴ ![]() On the morning of Day 44, things go a bit differently. The carnival opens it's doors and for an hour, things are going just fine...until the aliens attack, that is. ► ALIEN INVASION: The carnival, the athlete's village, and Olympic Spaceship will find themselves overrun by aliens: specifically, a race called the Greimen. The name's accurate: they look like stereotypical grey aliens, only 2-4 feet tall. They're invading the spaceship and the planet, trying to take control of Zargon and Olympic Spaceship for themselves. The main strength these aliens have is their numbers: there's literally thousands of them. Unfortunately for the aliens, they don't have many other strengths. They're easily punchable, kickable, ray guns permanently set to stun, and other amusing space weapons designed to minorly inconvenience people. ► FUCK THIS SHIT I'M OUT: The fighting lasts for a good half-hour or so before the Ringmaster decides no, this is dumb. Characters who aren't at the carnival will feel a compulsion to return to the carnival. Once everyone's there, the Ringmaster will magically eject the remaining aliens from carnival grounds and yank the carnival away from the Olympics themselves. ► OOC GUIDELINES: Despite the fact that this is a fight log, the carnage shouldn't be too excessive! No horribly mutilating the aliens, y'all. The aliens are only mildly better equipped than the Space Olympics themselves, so everything will be a bit comedic and light-hearted. Characters can get hurt, but the wounds should tend more towards 'amusing injuries' than 'someone losing a leg'. As the log's forward-dated, feel free to keep doing all your fun space olympics nonsense in the other logs! |

Rita steers her robot into a relatively safe place, then takes a look around. Her gaze settles on a wedge-shaped robot that appears to have some wiring hanging out of it. Rita walks over, picks it up, and brings it over to Cole.
"This one's equipped with a hinged flipper. If I attach it at your base, you should be able to lift things off the ground -- just enough to carry them." Bringing it over to Cole, she now takes a good, close look at his shell. "I'll need to see your wiring. Is there a panel I can use to look inside...?"
no subject
Well. This is new for Cole as well. He thought he could do that but he didn't know he could do that. Almost instantly, the eye of the squid thing blinks as Cole tries to adjust for the fact that he's now got two eyes who can see things and he doesn't really know how to swap from one to the other.
no subject
"Wh... what the hell!? You had an organic body in there all along!?"
She definitely thought he was a robot. Also, the squid body is super gross.
no subject
Well this is a shock to Cole. Problems of being turned into something via magic: you don't really know much about it to begin with. Cole knew there was something inside, but he though it was still robot-like, not anything organic.
"I can't see it," Cole whines slightly. His eyestalk moves up and down, as it tries to see the tentacle fleshy interior, while the eye on the fleshy interior continues to try and scan up to see the eyestalk.

Gritting her teeth, she reluctantly leans in to get a closer look at the wiring connecting his body to the shell. "I... ugh," she starts, then cuts herself off, shaking her head at the sight. "I can probably make this work, still." But she's not happy about it, okay?
no subject
Which doesn't really explain much. How did he not notice it, he didn't have to move the creepy squid tentacles so he didn't pay any mind to it. Good job, Cole. Still, she says she can help so Cole's instantly grateful that Rita can and will help.
"Thank you," he murmurs. He's staying still, though. Cole's got no idea how to make these things work, that's all for Rita to take care of and for Rita to boss him around.
no subject
"... There. Give it a try. Can you move it?"
Congrats, Cole, you now have the lifting capability of a miniature snow plow.
no subject
"I can! Thank you, Rita!" And he continues to just lift up and set down the snowplow. "What did you need again?"
Because he can lift things, he can straight up help Rita now.
no subject
But they're not quite finished yet. At least seeing her success gives her more patience to continue.
"A robot with hands," she reminds him, "or some other grabbing mechanism. Whatever you want, really."
no subject
So Cole whirrs off, leaving Rita and the rest of the robotics team behind as he starts scouring the carnage for something with arms.
no subject
By the time Cole returns, the alien attackers will have been driven away from this part of the sector, and several of the mechanics have either pursued them or left. Rita remains, not too far from where she was before, sitting on the floor with her robot. A panel on the small machine is open, and she seems to be in the middle of performing repairs on it.
no subject
"This one was the only one with two arms." He has no idea of this will work or not but hey, here it is.
no subject
She drags it over closer and swiftly removes several screws, allowing her to pull the hands free from the rest of the robot's body. Rising to her feet, she turns attention to Cole's stump-like appendages. "Just hold still and I'll have this done in a few minutes."
Not that it seems like she needs to tell him to hold still.
no subject
It's when the hands are fully attached that Cole speaks. "Are you done?"
This is good. Granted, he still can't bend over, but at least he can open doors now.
no subject
"Yeah, that should do it. Try moving them." Rita's confident they'll work fine, though. She seems to have figured out how the movable parts of the shell connect to the... thing inside it.
"This should give you more versatility, but... I'd be careful if you're planning on hanging around here much longer," she goes on to advise him. "This sector's quieted down, but it sounds like things are still escalating in other parts of the station." It wouldn't take much to get caught up in more of the fighting.
no subject
At her words of advice, he nods. "I need to be around to steal more things," Cole explains. Now, with all the chaos, it's a good time to just straight up steal stuff from the Space Olympics. "This will help. Thank you."
no subject
"Well, whatever. Do what you want. But if things get hairy, come back right away. Wouldn't want you to become part of the scrap heap they've got started here." She nods to the broken robot bits strewn about the floor.
no subject
He starts to roll away but pauses and turns back to Rita.
"You should be safe also." She's still Rita! He still cares about her and doesn't want her to get hurt!
