⇨ THE EPILOGUE
Who: Everyone!
When: Day 61
Where: The Carnival
What: After all the rescues team return, it will be matter of tending to the wounded and getting the hell out of dodge. The Ringmaster can handle the fleeing part, but someone will need to look after those in the medical tent. Or, maybe, you just want to show up and ask what the hell happened.
Warnings: Some messed up consequences of faerie fuckery.

IN REPAIR↴![]() As the minutes tick past, all four rescue groups will eventually return. Everyone in the carnival is encouraged to help out, ensuring that the rescues and victims both are taken care of after the fact. You can tag in here as rescuers taking care of business around the carnival, victims recovering, or other workers checking in to see what's going on. This log is for general aftermath threads, made by anyone. |
You thought wrong dun dun duuuuun
He looks down at the cookies with mild interest. He is kind of hungry from all the on the go moving and regrouping. It's just not sweet he's craving.
"Yes, my group went after Steven. He'll likely be alright." With recovery. Lots of recovery.

That said, she quickly shakes her head. "...I stayed here, after the shadows disappeared," she explains, before frowning. "...Unless you mean... ...When the shadows were there? ...I just stayed with niisama and Kage, and used my shield to make light."
no subject
"Ah good, you were with family," he responds despite knowing what she said before. Family was more likely to protect over anything selfish and undesirable. Or at least, he assumed her brother would. Yet, it's a possibility that Reira was better qualified at the moment given the way the carnival worked. "Resourceful. I was hoping you'd be alright."
no subject
And holds, even as she moves it around a little. "...I had to keep making it so we could see, so..." So that's one way to master it, really.
"...I don't think niisama felt good though... ....He's not used to things yet..."

He can go nap then when the carnival is moving away from this mess. He lowers his gaze to her shield and reaches out to touch it because he can never keep his hands to himself. "Did it expend a lot of your energy?" He lifts a brow at the mention of her brother again, "Physically or mentally?"
no subject
Even so, she lets him touch it- it doesn't feel like stone, as much as it looks somewhat like the moon. It feels more like hardened mist, like ice, but without the chill. It's pure energy, perhaps even 'moonlight', and nothing more.
"I got a lot of books, I think," she declares, considering what Tyki said about leaving things behind now. "...They're in pieces, but I can put them together later at least."
Given he had seen her using her camera, he may be able to guess why it's 'pieces'.

His Power to Choose activates as he slides his hands inside of the shield for just a second. They are out just as easily as they went in. Just for an oral fix, he takes a bite out of that cookie without thinking. "That's some decent progress."
He grins gently, "Figure out what story you're going to read me to sleep with yet?"
no subject
"...I don't think my reading is what puts you to sleep," she notes, recalling when he'd fallen asleep before. "...That's just being tired."
no subject
Tyki blinks at her words with an incredulous look, "Reira, I'm quite aware of what makes someone tired. I meant that the soothing sound of your voice while reading a book to me would be both cute and pleasing to the ears. Didn't anyone ever read you stories before bed?"
no subject
(The countdown really IS on until he figures it all out at this rate)
The girl blinks rapidly however, tilting her head after a moment. "Mnh. I don't know about most things before niisama...I don't think I had a bed back then anyway, before him," she mutters, furrowing her brows. "...But, I didn't have books after I met niisama either- it was only a little bit after that, that I came here anyway..." Actually, her brother didn't even realize she could read for that matter.
Good job, bro. As it is. "...Umnh...Why would you read someone to sleep though? Wouldn't they never hear the ending? ...You're supposed to find out what happens at the end if you read a book," she protests confusedly.
no subject
His stare continues, a flick of worry bleeding into his emotions, but all of that disappears and he reaches out to pat her head like he always does, "When reading someone a story, you are just as much attentive to the person as you are the story itself. When they start to fall asleep, you stop and mark where you are so that the next night they don't miss a single thing. A book doesn't have to be finished in just one night."
no subject
Not knowing, perhaps, is the more forgivable state compared to the alternative. Reira does her best to listen about the logic of having a story read before sleep, finding herself with a grimace at the idea.
"...I don't think I'd be able to fall asleep," she decides, shaking her head. "...not if the story was in the middle of something."
no subject
Maybe it's too late for her, or so he thinks, for her to be soothed by someone's voice or the comfort of their presence in order to fall asleep to a bedtime story. It was less about the story itself and more for the company, the fact someone loved them enough to do so, or the comfort of knowing someone was there.
"Maybe not. Do you always read a book from start to finish or do you break it up into pieces?"
no subject
The end of a scene, basically. She just doesn't realize that's what it is.
no subject
"Hmm, maybe we can think of another time to read then and not during bed time." He just thought it was a cute idea really. He kind of misses Road and her sometimes need for childish things.
no subject
Anyway. "Mnh-!! You would read with me after we leave here?" she starts, a little surprised by the idea. With how Yuuya had reacted when she mentioned getting 'school books' from Acquisitions, she'd sort of thought no one really wanted to read too much...at least, not when they weren't in a library...
no subject
"Yes, of course. I love to dive into a good book. The carnival doesn't have very many save for what is passed around. At this point, I wouldn't even mind fairy tales."
no subject
Hopefully he never sees the damage that poor bear suffered before getting haphazardly stitched back together though. "Mnh...I think I have...at least one fairy tale in my pictures now..." she mutters, frowning.
"...I have to put them together later."
no subject
"No rush, at least. There's always later." Unless they get sucked into another location sooner than later.
no subject
"...I'll show you my books later then," she decides, beaming a little. ...After she puts them together, of course. She feels that since she's already said that however, it should be obvious enough.
no subject
"Sounds good to me. If you need me, I'm here at least until we get moving."
aw yeh tied up just in time for camping...
"Mnh. I'll see you later then," she decides, heading into the tent. Time to deliver... ...however many cookies weren't just eaten, she supposes.
