What: After all the rescues team return, it will be matter of tending to the wounded and getting the hell out of dodge. The Ringmaster can handle the fleeing part, but someone will need to look after those in the medical tent. Or, maybe, you just want to show up and ask what the hell happened.
Warnings: Some messed up consequences of faerie fuckery.

IN REPAIR↴ As the minutes tick past, all four rescue groups will eventually return. Everyone in the carnival is encouraged to help out, ensuring that the rescues and victims both are taken care of after the fact. You can tag in here as rescuers taking care of business around the carnival, victims recovering, or other workers checking in to see what's going on. This log is for general aftermath threads, made by anyone.

Lapis stops her poking long enough to look Amethyst dead in the eye. With an extremely uncomfortable expression as she asks what can only be considered an extremely stupid question.

"Yeah, totally fine after being drowned for a few days straight and stuck in another fusion with Jasper, which, by the way, was also drowned a few dozen or so times. I'm doing fantastic."

[drrdrrdrr]

"Yikez," says Amethyst, with a Z and without dropping eye contact. She hops up onto the cot next to Lapis and stretches. "That was kinda a rhetorical question, but okay. Sounds pretty gross."

"Apparently, I was also worn like a necklace." Which, you know, she's also not a fan of. At all. But she's also just being grumpy because it helps her Cope. Badly, but it's something. Lapis leans into her arm, which ripples strangely as it's touched.

"Thought I managed to kill her, but apparently not. Seems like the fae are resistant to both crushing and being eaten." Which is, for the record, Absolute Bullshit.

Amethyst sort of grimaces with her purple cat face. "Eesh, yeah, I thought gems were pretty tough but these guys are in another league if they can beat you at drowning, huh?"

Lapis gives her A Look.

"Ignoring what just happened, I haven't drowned anyone in thousands of years, you know." Steven and Connie don't count? They were almost drowned. Big difference?

[drrdrrdrr]

"Sure, whatever," says Amethyst, who remembers Steven and Connie almost drowning fairly clearly. She sort of dismissively waves a tiny paw. "I just meant, y'know, the whole water deal, that's kind of your thing."

"I'm not the only Gem out there who's thing is water, you know." Sure, maybe she's one of the main ones, but you know.

[drrdrrdrr]

Amethyst does a somewhat theatrical shrug, because it has to be exaggerated to get the full shrug impact across as a quadruped but also because she thinks Lapis is nitpicking. "Only one I've ever met," she says. "Anyway, that doesn't mean it's not your thing."

'Yeah, well. Apparently it's not my thing." Lapis responds, clearly grumpy. Not that she hasn't been grumpy since things have settled, but you know. "Shouldn't you be with Steven right now? Or Peridot? You like them better than me." She sounds a little mean while asking, but she is actually curious as to why she's bothering with her.

[drrdrrdrr]

"They're asleep," says Amethyst pragmatically. "Anyway, I like you fine, even if you're kind of a buzzkill."

[mirrortide]

"Huh." It doesn't sound like Amethyst likes her when she calls her a buzzkill like that, so Lapis doesn't exactly take it at face value. "And you're bothering me because there's no one more interesting to. Got it."

[drrdrrdrr]

She shrugs again. "I dunno, some of these other guys might be more interesting. I just wanted to see how you were doing. I mean, I figured you'd be doing crappy, but, y'know."

"You're not exactly far off the mark." She's still definitely surprised that Amethyst has chosen her to bother out of all possible other options in the med tent."But now you know just how great I'm doing, so why hang around?"

[drrdrrdrr]

"Uh," says Amethyst. "I dunno, we like, never talk, so I figured maybe we... should?"

[mirrortide]

"You... want to talk. With me." No offense, Amethyst, but Lapis can't really wrap her head around why, and she looks dubious at best. "Why?"

[drrdrrdrr]

"Well... y'know, Peridot and Steven both like you a whole lot, and they've got pretty good taste."

Lapis puts her head into her hand, and still manages to look utterly unconvinced about Amethysts intent. She didn't care about her when she was in the mirror, after all. Which is a long time ago now, but still. At the very least, she doesn't mention that out loud. "So you'd only talk to me because they do."

[drrdrrdrr]

Amethyst raises her eyebrows, and stops being a cat. "Yeah, actually, dude, you kinda act like this all the time," she gestures to all of Lapis, "so I probably wouldn't bother if you weren't coming with some sweet testimonials."

Hah. She knew it.

"Well, sorry to say but you're absolutely right. There's not much point in talking to someone like me." Especially since Amethyst wouldn't care about her otherwise. That much is obvious. "You should go back to Peridot. I'm sure she'd like your company more than I would."

[drrdrrdrr]

Amethyst rolls her eyes and makes a fart sound with her mouth. "Okay, but she'd also like your company a whole lot, so shoot me for bein' curious."

Still unimpressed, Lapis looks around for a few seconds, spots a glass of water, and promptly uses her powers to shoot beads of water at Amethyst. With the same force that someone might flick water off their hand at someone with, which is to say, it's probably more done as a joke than anything else.

Amethyst is taken completely by surprise, and one of them gets up her nose and makes her snort explosively; her eyes are watering a little when she pushes the back of her hand over her face, but she's actually smiling.

"See, this is what I'm talking about. Can you do that with soda?"

"Of course I can." That's 100% not the reaction she was expecting, but she can deal with it. "Why, you want a demonstration or something?"

[drrdrrdrr]

"I mean, if there's any soda in here, sure," says Amethyst. "Why, you wanna give one?" She sounds a little skeptical, honestly.

"I have literally nothing better to do." Especially since Peridot is adamant that Lapis remains here until she's looked at and given the okay to go. "So if you go find one, I could."
