What: After all the rescues team return, it will be matter of tending to the wounded and getting the hell out of dodge. The Ringmaster can handle the fleeing part, but someone will need to look after those in the medical tent. Or, maybe, you just want to show up and ask what the hell happened.
Warnings: Some messed up consequences of faerie fuckery.

IN REPAIR↴ As the minutes tick past, all four rescue groups will eventually return. Everyone in the carnival is encouraged to help out, ensuring that the rescues and victims both are taken care of after the fact. You can tag in here as rescuers taking care of business around the carnival, victims recovering, or other workers checking in to see what's going on. This log is for general aftermath threads, made by anyone.

"Aha, totally not what I meant, but I wouldn't wanna assume what you're into."

He's a little surprised that Lambert has stuff to say to him despite just saying so himself, since he'd also just dismissed it as not that important. But it's enough to have him ambling over to stand by the cot. The sense of mild wariness Shima has whenever he's talked to Lambert since arriving at the Carnival is still there on the edges, but after Wismuth, Shima is at least feeling like he has a better grasp of Lambert's real intentions even if he's an asshole about things.

Whatever Lambert has to say can apparently wait, though. He raises a brow at Shima, cocking his head.

"Well? Ladies first."

Wow Lambert, if that's how he's gonna lead in...

"Childermass-san mentioned ya freaked out about the post-KO injuries, so I came ta have a laugh about it."

Hilariously enough, what Lambert wanted to talk about wasn't that far from the topic Shima's just brought up. The witcher snorts softly, looking up.

"The first time I saw that fire," he says, looking at the ceiling, "You were using it to burn souls out of vampires. Dropped them like flies."

"Whoa, what the heck? I sound like a badass."

"You were." Lambert smirks. Emphasis on the past tense? Surely that's just Shima's imagination!

"I've also seen Rin burn monsters to ash with his fire." His gaze slides back to Shima. "But I've never seen them used on a human." He's not willing to admit he overreacted, even if he is providing an explanation.

Look, someone actually agreeing he was ever badass at all ever is startling enough that he'll let the past tense slide completely.

"Oooh. Yeah, well don't worry about it. It can definitely mess a person up too but we had it in check. Okumura-kun isn't the type ta be able ta snuff a guy out just ta spite a Fae. Shouldn't be any lasting side-effects either."

“If there was, I would have killed you.” Lambert says that super casually. Though Childermass has an egg like Strange does now, well. Lambert would still prefer he didn’t get to use it.

“But since it didn’t ... good job. If you hadn’t knocked him out, we’d have one more person to rescue. Or worse.”

"Wow," point, "not cute, considering...!" what he's heard Lambert's team's whole expedition... But the jab is mostly grumbled because he did just pay him a compliment.

"Ya sure are serious about him though." He'd definitely noticed Childermass hovering around all the previous day too. "Ya have some weird old man Thing going on, huh."

If Childermass had been taken by the Rose Queen, suffice to say, Lambert would have tried a lot harder than he did to commit a murder, and damn the consequences. But since that never happened, well, there probably wasn't much point to it...

The observation makes him frown. He'd been aware enough of Childermass being present -- almost every time he woke up, really, to be that obvious, but ... he never got a chance to ask about it, really. What he's said, what he wants Lambert to say. But it's not in him to deny it, either.

"Yeah," he says, simply. Which part of that he's agreeing with, he doesn't specify.

Squints and wrinkles his nose, letting this information sink in. He's not sure if he really wanted to know or not, but he asked, and now he does. It's not like it's not useful to know how people relate to each other here, but.. old men, geh.

A terrible thought occurs to him.

"Strange isn't involved too, is he?"

There's a pause.

"You know that's like me asking if you like getting bugs poured into your pants, right?"

Look, you inflict one terrible mental image to contemplate on him, he's going to inflict one right back.

"What, obviously I didn't know that!! I was just going off everybody's weird tension!" He just got here, he isn't following it that closely! Though, he admits it could have been many kinds of weird tension--he just assumed it was the close relationship kind, since killing a person to rescue them or keep them out of enemy hands seems like a generally charged thing to do, likely to require all kinds of trust and squashy intense feelings probably.

Look, he knows people like this, it's not his fault if it also seems like a Thing when adjacent to a confirmed Thing.

Lambert's completely baffled look says enough, he has no idea what tension you're talking about here, Shima.

"No. Strange isn't involved." His face scrunches up like he's just bitten into a lemon at the thought. No, just no. He can even imagine it: Strange wouldn't shut up, ever. And he'd be so whiny.

"He's my best friend. You've heard of those before, right?" Is he implying Shima's a friendless loser, he sure is.
