Where: The Camping Grounds
What: While the Ringmaster attempts to purge the carnival of magical tracing spells and deal with the angry fire fae in her belly, everyone else is getting sent on an emergency camping trip with some unusual local fauna.

CRYPTIC CAMPGROUNDS↴ You're given about three hours to prepare, after the Ringmaster tells you her plans for the coming week. There is a vast selection of camping equipment at your disposal, and the means to take along enough food for the length of the stay. The wilderness of the planet you're left on is nearly idyllic, but some people just don't like the great outdoors. ► CRYPTOZOOLOGY: As it turns out, the carnival won't be alone here. There is a varied ecosystem of cryptids to be found as well, living in relative peace and mostly reacting to the newcomers with curiousity. More details can be found on the plotting post. You are free to NPC the cryptids as much as you need to, as long as you stick to the behaviours described. ► DREAMSHARING: There is a player plot going on which will allow characters to share dreams! These are specifically more dreams than nightmares, and the mushi-adept characters will be here to help. ► CHILLAX: There isn't any plot twist for this setting, so this is mostly an opportunity to decompress from the last plot and get ready for the future. The Ringmaster will show up occasionally to help with needed medical treatments and check on things, but won't stick around for long.

And it just so happens 9S is nearby! As usual, Pod 153 is hovering by his shoulder, though this time, his sword is floating at his back via a glowing ring of light, the blade covered in a scabbard.

9S yelps and catches the fruit before it can bean him in the back of his head. "Hey! What's the big idea?"

Speaking about the back of his head, a mouth at the back of his head cracks open, the tip of its spine-like 'tongue' poking out beneath his visor.

Looks back down just in time to catch that and makes a face. He's never seen one of those 'Two-mouthed Woman' youkai, but the concept is familiar enough that seeing the weird second mouth on 9S's head completely distracts him from actually recognizing who he is for a second, especially since he's mostly only run into him incidentally.

"Holy crap."

"What? What?"

What's got him so surprised/disgusted? It's not the fruit, is it? It can't be.

"The crazy mouth-thing on the back of your head," Shima says as he makes a big loose gesture toward the back of his own head illustratively. Oh yeah, wasn't this guy one of the Guardians in Wismuth?

"Ya didn't have that before did ya?"

He was indeed a Guardian... and struggled a lot with the heels initially.

9S turns his head, as if that will let him see the mouth at the back of it. It's not unlike a dog chasing its tail, though 9S stops a lot quicker.

"What mouth-thing...?" If he can't see it... He reaches up to feel around and his hand lands on the 'tongue'. It's slightly sticky. Letting out an undignified yelp of surprise, he blurts out, "What the hell is that? I can't see it!"

"Ya seriously didn't know that was there?? Uh, hold on, get closer, I'll take a pic..."

Shima shifts so he has his hands free and digs around in his pocket for his phone. He's gonna be sad when it runs out of juice before their camping trip is over but it's not like he's using it for anything else anyway.
