Where: The Camping Grounds
What: While the Ringmaster attempts to purge the carnival of magical tracing spells and deal with the angry fire fae in her belly, everyone else is getting sent on an emergency camping trip with some unusual local fauna.
Warnings: Camping.

CRYPTIC CAMPGROUNDS↴ You're given about three hours to prepare, after the Ringmaster tells you her plans for the coming week. There is a vast selection of camping equipment at your disposal, and the means to take along enough food for the length of the stay. The wilderness of the planet you're left on is nearly idyllic, but some people just don't like the great outdoors. ► CRYPTOZOOLOGY: As it turns out, the carnival won't be alone here. There is a varied ecosystem of cryptids to be found as well, living in relative peace and mostly reacting to the newcomers with curiousity. More details can be found on the plotting post. You are free to NPC the cryptids as much as you need to, as long as you stick to the behaviours described. ► DREAMSHARING: There is a player plot going on which will allow characters to share dreams! These are specifically more dreams than nightmares, and the mushi-adept characters will be here to help. ► CHILLAX: There isn't any plot twist for this setting, so this is mostly an opportunity to decompress from the last plot and get ready for the future. The Ringmaster will show up occasionally to help with needed medical treatments and check on things, but won't stick around for long.

[Judging by the withering look Gongenzaka immediately sends in Yuugo's direction, that's exactly what he's worried about. His face is about as red as Yuuya's hair at the moment (well, half anyway), and he's very much wishing he'd thought to ask the Ringmaster about some sort of shrinking ability now.

With a resigned sigh however, he nods.] ...It is easier to recall one I, the man Gongenzaka, have properly sung, so...

[Well, here goes nothing. He's actually clearing his throat, and bracing himself, and god dammit one of you stop him this is the Worst-]

We're not going to laugh. [And Yuya says that with honesty, although he shoots Yugo a quick look to say 'so you'd better not'.

Anyway, he looks back at Gongenzaka with an encouraging smile and waits patiently. He's discovering hidden depths about his friend today.]

[Well excuse him if he in comparison has a very blunt and insensitive idea of being honest with people. Too bad Yuzu isn't around with her paper fan anymore.

And with Gon about to start, Yugo just waits to see how the song goes. Though there will be a surprise third party that's interested if it's going well.]

[Hoh. Hooboy. Well, here he goes then.

The first thing that's going to be noticed? Gongenzaka raises his voice a touch for song- which is fair. A lot of people do that!

It also sounds like he somehow cleared out every single edge of gruffness from his tone, which has a Very different effect on the sound. He'll probably only get a line or two out before sputtering to a stop due to however the others are responding, sadly.]

[The end of Yuya's tail flicks a little with anticipation as Gongenzaka starts... and then stops while his smile drops, and instead he's openly gaping at Gongenzaka with awe and surprise as he listens.

He expected Gon to be decent enough, but he didn't expect that.]

[Well that was quick. Though considering Gon's nervousness about the matter, maybe they should've expected that much. Still it's definitely more than surprising to hear that's the fuzzy giant's singing voice.]

Woah...! Yeah you are pretty good...!

[See. No laughing here.]

[Yes well it's a bit too late because he sort of broke off the minute Yuuya started gaping.

Melodic song has now been replaced with anxious stammering as he stiffens on the spot.] NH-! Th-That is hardly the response of one who finds it 'good'..!!

[Yuya jerks, suddenly, shaking himself from his stupor before leaning closer to Gon with a grin splitting across his face.] No, it really was good! You never told me you could sing like that!

[He's honestly surprised, but in a good way. Now that he thinks about it, he's pretty sure he knows that song.] You don't have to stop. I'll sing it with you, I think I know it!

[And upon this, seems to be enough reason to answer a certain synchro spirit's feelings and summon out the tiny dragon so they can listen more clearly. Imagine that, Clear Wing liking music.

They rumble and Yugo strokes them under their chin.]

Might help you loosen up a bit more too, Gon.

NHH...G-GONGENZAKA IS JUST FINE, WITH YOU, [He growls, still quite flustered. It does not last long however- not with Yuuya's offer.]

A-Auh... ....You wish to join in..?

[Seriously!? His ears draw backward.] ....It is merely singing, it is not relevant to my own dueling practices after all... ...it did not seem relevant to mention...

We talk to each other for more than just dueling, don't we? [He's teasing, a little, because obviously they do. They're best friends.

He stands up so he can sit next to Gon, gesturing for him to continue.] Come on, start over! I think I remember how this goes.

[He'll probably feel better having someone else sing with him, anyway.]

[Does Yugo care? Nope. Does Yugo have any idea what the nickname basically means? No clue whatsoever if anyone decides not to tell him.]

Definitely sounds like someone with more room to loosen up...! What Yuya said, it'll be great!

W-Well....of course, but...

[Ahhhh. He's not getting out of this. With a sigh, he coughs and attempts to ground himself before starting again. A few passed beats in his mind, and he can begin with those same few lines once more...admittedly now curious to hear when and how Yuuya jumps in.]

[Yuya glances to Yugo and Clear Wing with a smile. Normally he'd ham it up for the audience, but... that's probably too much for Gongenzaka right now.

Instead he listens closely to Gongenzaka, waiting for him to get through the first couple lines before he jumps in singing. He remembers the lyrics less clearly, stumbling once or twice, but he follows well enough to not disrupt the song. His tone is much higher, and it's still identifiable against Gon's voice even when they sing together.

He closes his eyes to focus on the song, surprisingly into it.]

[Well since the two are making such a good duet out of the song, Yugo's certainly not going to butt in with his own voice. The tiny summoned dragon on his shoulder cocks their head in interest at the implied melody... but certainly seems to approve as much as he does.]

[betheman]

[This time at least, the song gets to reach its end. Though it is a bit awkward after. Once the final few lyrics are sung, he sort of becomes aware of the surroundings again, twitching awkwardly as he waits for someone to say something.

...Well. They sang it.]

[Yuya, meanwhile, seems oblivious to the mistakes he made himself while singing. It's not a critical audience, and he's comfortable in the presence of friends.

Yuya opens his eyes and smiles brightly at Gongenzaka.] That was fun.

[Really, it actually was. Yuya looks happily at Gongenzaka for a minute... and then his attention drifts aside to Yugo and--oh, there's Clear Wing, too.] What do you think?
