What: While the Ringmaster attempts to purge the carnival of magical tracing spells and deal with the angry fire fae in her belly, everyone else is getting sent on an emergency camping trip with some unusual local fauna.
Warnings: Camping.

CRYPTIC CAMPGROUNDS↴ You're given about three hours to prepare, after the Ringmaster tells you her plans for the coming week. There is a vast selection of camping equipment at your disposal, and the means to take along enough food for the length of the stay. The wilderness of the planet you're left on is nearly idyllic, but some people just don't like the great outdoors. ► CRYPTOZOOLOGY: As it turns out, the carnival won't be alone here. There is a varied ecosystem of cryptids to be found as well, living in relative peace and mostly reacting to the newcomers with curiousity. More details can be found on the plotting post. You are free to NPC the cryptids as much as you need to, as long as you stick to the behaviours described. ► DREAMSHARING: There is a player plot going on which will allow characters to share dreams! These are specifically more dreams than nightmares, and the mushi-adept characters will be here to help. ► CHILLAX: There isn't any plot twist for this setting, so this is mostly an opportunity to decompress from the last plot and get ready for the future. The Ringmaster will show up occasionally to help with needed medical treatments and check on things, but won't stick around for long.

[What is she supposed to say to that kind of face? She lets out a soft laugh, reaching over to ruffle his hair.]

I know you will. C'mon, I ain't gonna do all the work for ya just because you don't like doin' it.

[but for real, she's going to get her revenge for tricking her into doing his dirty work]

[Yukio (for once) doesn't avoid the hair ruffle, or bat her hands away. He does grumble a bit, of course.]

Nee-san, you're messing up my hair.

[Nee-san, you're messing up my hair. It's easy to forget the demon that haunts her when Yukio sounds like a little brat. She keeps mussing his hair, merrily ignoring his complaint.]

Your hair~? Nyahaha, got somewhere to be after this? Got a girl or somethin'?

[Actually, she'd be really relieved in a way if that was true...]

[reflash]

No! [Not that he's willing to tell Shura about, that's for sure.]

['I don't have time for girls,' 'Like I'd tell you,' 'Yes, and her name is none of your business.' Anything like that and Shura would have probably just let it slide. But that kind of denial is completely suspicious. She drops her hand from his hair and leans forward.]

Oho! She must be cute if you don't wanna tell me about her~ C'mon, c'mon, I'll find out about her anyway. Does Shiro know?

[She already knows Rin doesn't know. If Rin knew, then there was no way he'd be able to hide his moping from her.]

[reflash]

I'm not telling you!! [He shoves her away, flustered.]

A secret girl, huh~?

[Shura is obviously far too delighted with this turn of events. Yukio had a crush? Wimpy was growing up, even if he had a long way to go. She'll back up at his shoving, leaning back in her chair. However, based on the grin on her face, she's definitely still thinking about it.]

I wonder, what kind of a girl would Yukio go for? She's gotta be a good girl.

[reflash]

You're worse than dad! [Which, of course, means that Father Fujimoto has also been teasing Yukio about his mystery girl.]

So he does know!

[So did he meet her at school or did he meet her somewhere else? She has a lot of questions.]

I gotta ask him~ I'm sure he's super excited that you got a girlfriend.

[reflash]

I... I don't have a girlfriend. [That at least, he's willing to admit.]

She's just... a girl I like.

[exaomori]

She's not your girlfriend yet. [Shura clarifies, because she believes that Yukio really can get whatever girl he wants if he takes the initiative.]

Tell me about her~ Is she a classmate? What d'ya like about her?

[reflash]

[He's cornered, and if he were a little bit older he'd have an actual response for this. But in this dream he's younger and a lot more open and he pillows his head on his hands.

he's never going to get a girlfriend because....]

She likes Rin.

She likes who? How d'ya know that, huh? She tell you?

[reflash]

She didn't have to tell me. [His life is terrible. People actually like Rin.]

I've seen them talking to each other, and I know they like each other.

[exaomori]

You can't just assume that, y'know.

[But maybe he's right. Some things were easy to see. But Rin hadn't been acting any differently? She'd grill him about it later. Right now, Yukio's her priority. She sighs, raising a hand to rub at her temple. This wasn't a little twisted at all.]

Aah, but still. If you like her that way and she doesn't return it--ah, if you were older, I'd buy you a drink. It ain't easy, livin' with that.

[reflash]

[His tail flicks across the floor behind him (his tail from the Carnival, he shouldn't... he shouldn't have that yet, but it's fine, it's fine).]

It's stupid. I should be happy that he found someone who likes him, but--

[He's selfish, and right now he doesn't really care.

Shura's someone who Yukio's always felt he can talk to, even if she brushes him off sometimes. Sometimes it helps to have someone put his issues in perspective.]

I liked her first.

[exaomori]

[There's nothing unusual about Yukio having a tail in this dream just like there's nothing odd about him calling her Nee-san.]

Nyaa, she isn't a toy, Yukio. [What a bratty thing to say. Still, Yukio is just a kid. He wouldn't stay her Wimpy forever, but he still had a long way to go before he could be called a man.] Feelin' one way or the other--it can't be helped, y'know? I'm sure if she's good enough for both you an' Rin to like, then she's a good girl and she wouldn't set out to hurt one of ya by likin' one more than the other. It ain't fair and it hurts, but you can't hate anyone for it, not even yourself.

[Which is the real problem Shura sees. Crushes come and go, but Yukio couldn't let himself get trapped by that self-loathing.]

[reflash]

[She's right. She's usually right, and he can't really be angry at her for it, since they're siblings.

It still stings, but she's right. He's being a brat, and he hates himself for it.]

What should I do? Should I just try to get over it?

[exaomori]

What should you do? What do you wanna do, Yukio?

[She wonders, did he hear the last bit of what she said? Well. She could try to hammer that point in later.]

[reflash]

Nee-san! If I knew what I wanted to do, I'd do it. [That's kind of whiny, he realizes after he says it.]

[exaomori]

[Then don't bitch when I tell you what to do, Shura almost says, but thinks better of it. He is being open with her right now, even if he's a little bratty.]

Tell her, then.

[reflash]

I can't do that! She'll get upset!

[exaomori]

But you'll both know where you stand. She'll tell you no, and then you can come back to my place and mope all ya want. [And by mope, she means cry. She knows him.] But bottling up your feelings and pretending they don't exist won't make 'em go away.

[reflash]

But I'll have to see her again after that.

[exaomori]

Yeah, you will. And it'll probably hurt to see her for a while. But that's part of bein' a man, ownin' up to your feelings.

[It was still awkward to see Shiro after she shoved her tits in his face, not that Yukio needs to know that specific bit.]
