Performance and Dreamcatchers
Who: Joker, those working entertainment, and whoever wants to do fun arts and crafts
When: The day after the orientation, and then after the ringmaster's announcement
Where: The Big Tent and one of the side stages, respectively
What: Joker gets his performing ducks all in a row, and then does an arts and crafts corner. As you do. Mingle log!
At around ten in the morning, as he told a few other workers and anyone who'd been listening in on the walkie talkies, Joker starts to radio in those who are working under him to meet up in the big top. Hope you had breakfast and not a hangover! Of course, for anyone who tries not to attend, Joker will cheerfully hunt them down and bother them into going.
Sorry, mandatory, you know how it is.
It's later in the day, after the ringleaders' own announcement, that eventually Joker makes another of himself, this time to the general channel. It's an invitation to one of the side stages to make dreamcatchers together, for anyone who still craves company or simply doesn't know what the hell a dreamcatcher even is. Along with that, Joker has taken it upon himself to make sure signs advertising this are plastered all over the carnival.
He drew them himself. Please appreciate the scribbled stars.

He doesn't really pay Greg any attention until he starts playing his guitar, which is when he stops what he's doing and looks up to listen. When Greg slows down or ends a song, he speaks up.]
Are you a singer?
no subject
Me? Yeah, I'd say so. Not officially around here, I mean, but the rock never leaves the star. Why, you got any requests?
[ It's mostly a joke. He has serious doubts people from all across different realities have the same music library to pull from. ]
no subject
Really? Do you know anything by Douglas Rootbank?
[Probably not, since he only exists in Tamaki's universe.]
no subject
[ Still, he twangs at a few strings, trying to sound out what sort of music a "Douglas Rootbank" might make. Folksy, maybe? Something country... ]
You a music fan yourself?
no subject
I'm an idol. I sing too!
[He shrugs.] But I'm supposed to be an acrobat here.
no subject
Guess they don't have need for a whole lot of music acts here, but at least you're on the stage, huh? That's a pretty impressive performer set.
no subject
Thank you! I did a backflip for the lady, and she said, "Acrobat!" like that.
[He's pretty proud of himself. Who knew that backflipping could be such a useful skill?]
What do you do?
no subject
I'm on lights. Back when I toured as a one man band, it was up to me do most of my stage effects. [ Sure, it's been a few years since he's been on a stage, but Greg's pretty proud of the skillset it gave him. ] You want anything flashy or special to brighten up your act, I'm your guy.

[He moves his hand in a splaying motion meant to signify "shine," supposedly. He means it all in a good way - something he's learned from his mistakes is that making enemies with the staff is always a bad idea. And they work hard to make the show good, so why wouldn't he be nice to them?]
no subject
I dunno how it is being an idol, [ Definitely not meant to belittle; he genuinely doesn't, ] but hitting a power chord in time with the perfect lighting cue, it always feels way cooler to me. [ With how little success he had, it was the little victories. The very, very little victories. ]

When you're an idol, you sing a solo or do a cool dance move and the fans cheer. And then you do the fanservice and they go, "Kyaaaaa!"
[That's Tamaki's best "screaming teenage girl" impression.]
no subject
[ Is that like groupies? ...He doesn't want to know, if it's like groupies. ]
Aaahaa, well, terminology aside, sounds like we're coming from the same place.
no subject
[He flips his hair and does what he considers to be a "cool pose." It's not really that bad of a pose, though he's not exactly the model of the group.
Anyway, that's all the explanation Greg is getting on what "fanservice" is.]
Sou-chan told me there are different kinds of words for different kinds of shows. But it's all about making the fans happy.
no subject
I'd say you got it in one. It's all about sharing with the audience! [ He snaps his fingers, flashing a thumbs up. ] Any time I went on stage, I wanted to make sure I gave fans back much fun as I was having! Even if no one really showed up. [ Why is he acting like an expert then ]
no subject
[Maybe Greg isn't well known yet? Tamaki's group used to get single digit crowds too before they finally started getting fans.
Or maybe Greg just sucked?]
Why not?
no subject
[ He shrugs, and plucks at a few strings. ]
There's a lot of factors, but you're not here for my life story. Turned out one fan was enough, and I stopped performing much after I settled down.
no subject
We only had 9 fans at first. But we got a lot more! Maybe you stopped too soon.
[Maybe he just wanted to stop?]
no subject
Ehh, maybe so, but I can't say I have any regrets. I had fun performing, and I still have fun playing on my own. It all turned out for the best in the end, either way.
no subject
[It makes sense. If he doesn't want to do it, he doesn't have to.]
no subject
I already had my chance at it. There's already plenty of talented performers here to put in the spotlight. Like you!
no subject
[He smiles happily again, glad to be called talented.]
Another guy from my idol group is here. Please take care of him, too.
