| WHO: The Doctor and YOU WHAT: He's finally socializing again instead of focusing on his magic research 24/7 WHERE: The trailer park, the cookhouse WHEN: After the kidnapping WARNINGS: None yet For the past month The Doctor had been spending nearly all of his time researching and experimenting with magic to the point the Nightrider and Stage Manager had had to drag him out of his trailer-lab or away from the edge of the forest where he was casting spells to do his duties. He kept saying he had made some sort of breakthrough and seeing as he hadn't broadcast a radio show recently or done much to welcome the newcomers it really must have been important to him. At long last, worn out and clearly sleep deprived, The Doctor put a pause to his project and ventured out into the carnival to do something other than the bare minimum of his job. ( Read more... ) |

| WHO: Anyone and Psi WHAT: Moping. WHERE: Here and There WHEN: After Agent-nappings WARNINGS: None!
No matter where you see Psi that day he's far from his usual cheerful self. Whether you need help from him throughout the work day or see him after hours, he appears down and silent. The troll is normally quite talkative, usually involving himself in everyone's business, so it's strange to see him so quiet, even if you don't know him that well.
He goes about his day, handing out assignments to various people and helping with the things that unexpectedly happen now and then. The animal work goes to Ginko and Bonnie, Papyrus is cleaning the mess created by guests the previous night. He checks in on Lars, Yuugi, and Chiaki at various points throughout the day once the carnival opens, helping when he can. His mood rotates between gloomy and frustrated at various points, no doubt a strange sight to some of his newer coworkers especially. Overall he tries to stick to the sidelines, working silently whenever he's able. |

| Who: Pidge and whoever What: Getting used to some changes. Where: The Cookhouse When: Early morning Warnings: Teenage grumpiness
Pidge's morning had been normal up to a certain point. She'd dealt with her roommate's propensity for music at early hours, then stumbled into the bathroom for a shower and to brush her teeth and made a discovery while staring blearily into the mirror. Perched atop her head were a pair of lion's ears to replace her normal set, all fuzzy and tawny and poking out of her hair. The next twenty minutes had been spent alternately tugging on them and beating her head against the faux-tile wall of the shower as she muttered about the unfairness of the world.
Finally, showered, dressed, and mostly put together she sat at a table in the cookhous epoking disconsolately at a plate of eggs, a half-eaten fruit cup and some rapidly cooling bacon. Occasionally, her new ears twitch as they pick up some interesting noise and she has to stop herself from reaching up to scratch at or tug at her new appendages. This place is just the worst. |

| Who: Joker, those working entertainment, and whoever wants to do fun arts and crafts When: The day after the orientation, and then after the ringmaster's announcement Where: The Big Tent and one of the side stages, respectively What: Joker gets his performing ducks all in a row, and then does an arts and crafts corner. As you do. Mingle log!
At around ten in the morning, as he told a few other workers and anyone who'd been listening in on the walkie talkies, Joker starts to radio in those who are working under him to meet up in the big top. Hope you had breakfast and not a hangover! Of course, for anyone who tries not to attend, Joker will cheerfully hunt them down and bother them into going.
Sorry, mandatory, you know how it is.
It's later in the day, after the ringleaders' own announcement, that eventually Joker makes another of himself, this time to the general channel. It's an invitation to one of the side stages to make dreamcatchers together, for anyone who still craves company or simply doesn't know what the hell a dreamcatcher even is. Along with that, Joker has taken it upon himself to make sure signs advertising this are plastered all over the carnival.
He drew them himself. Please appreciate the scribbled stars. - Tags:alois trancy, amethyst, chiaki nanami, elizabeth comstock, greg universe, hinawa, john childermass, jou shan, junko enoshima, kerubim, koltira, lauren, mari makinami illustrious, mika, mutou yuugi, natsu, nona1, papyrus, son goku, steven universe, susan, tanyuu karibusa, the doctor, yotsuba tamaki, yukine miyazawa

| Who: EVERYONE! When: NOW! Where: Around the carnival grounds, and in the Cookhouse. What: Carnival worker orientation, Ringmaster style. Warnings: Alcohol consumption, maybe drugs. Other things? BRAVE NEW WORLD↴

► THE NEW: It doesn't matter when you entered the tent to discuss your new contract with the Ringmaster, you exit it beneath a blanket of stars. Pointedly alien stars at that - currently the carnival grounds are being treated to a show of shooting stars, and what appear to be unnaturally large and living green moons hanging just a bit too close. The carnival was bustling when you entered, but now it's in the latter stages of being shut down for the night. If you manage to find a clock, it states that it's around 8PM.
Workers from during the day will be passing through the grounds, attending to various pieces of business. None of them will seem very surprised or concerned by the goings on, though some may be sympathetic enough to pause and answer your questions. If you put some effort into finding out how it became nighttime, you may discover that it's been anywhere from a few hours to 7 days since you originally signed your contract. Someone may explain to you that it was probably some kind of time bubble, meant to keep you out of the way until the Ringmaster had time to deal with you.
Every few minutes another new person will pop out of the tent, looking just as confused and under the impression that they had only just finished discussing things with the Ringmaster. Weird.
She passed you a note before you left. Opening it up, you'll see you've been assigned a trailer number, and been given the instructions to drop off any excess belongings and do what you can to get settled in. You have until exactly 9:36PM to do so, because that's when you'll be expected to attend what is listed only as "WORKER'S ORIENTATION".
This is, perhaps, more abrupt than you were expecting - but what can you do? You're here for the long haul.
► THE OLD: If you've ever seen a mass recruitment before, then this is no surprise. People enter the tent when they're recruited, and then sometimes how up again days later when the Ringmaster is ready for them. She isn't a big fan of wasting her time on individual orientations when she's expecting a crowd.
Maybe you're too jaded to all of this to care much, but you'll see the newbies wandering around, probably confused and maybe a bit lost. Maybe you're the kind whose is sympathetic enough to pause your role in clean up and give them some directions, and maybe a word of confidence. Maybe you'll just jeer at them, because you're some kind of asshole. Either way, you expect you'll have the chance to see them later tonight.
Whether by world of mouth, radio, or written note, supervisors will be passing out the following message: all workers are to report to the Cookhouse at 9:36PM sharp for "orientation." If you are at all familiar with how things go around here, you probably have a good idea of what this implies.
Mandatory Karaoke Night.
