This is not how healthy individuals deal with their problems.

Who: Psi and Open
What: Drinking Alien Booze
Where: The Cookhouse and Around (see prompts)
When: Right after the supervisor meeting.
Warnings: People using alcohol in unhealthy ways. Drunkenness. Adult language highly likely.

He takes to the air as soon as the meeting is over, sick of looking at that weird symbol and sick of listening to everybody talk about what to do next. All the other supervisors seemed to feel like some kind of violent response was necessary. Perhaps in their minds if the carnival didn't respond it would allow the vampires a second chance to attack. The Psionic, however, didn't agree with that line of thinking. The reality was that none of them had any way of knowing if the vampires were considering a second attack or not. The Psionic really didn't see anything wrong with getting rid of sygil and leaving it at that. It was weakening the wards, so of course they needed to remove it, but so long as the wards could be fixed they were safe here.

Even as he thinks that he can't help but feel some small sense of doubt. Even if he did feel that way, everyone else seemed to disagree. Was he missing something that seemed obvious to everyone else? Maybe they knew something he didn't. It's those sorts of fears and anxieties that begin to emerge as he flies. He doesn't want to remember the first attack, but the images come unbidden as his worries grow. Would a kid as young as Bonnie be forced to defend herself from beings like that? Miko and Lars were older. They were a bit more capable and a bit more annoying, but could they truly stand up to a foe like that?

It's nights like these when the Psionic misses his Alternian companions most. They had always know what to say and do. Their absence stings tonight in a way it hasn't in a long time, so where he ends up doing really isn't much of a surprise.

I. The Cookhouse
When he finds the bottle he holds it up victoriously. The drink inside appears to be a truly distressing shade of fluorescent lavender. He smiles before twisting off the top and pouring himself a drink. It's an Alternian liquor, or at least that's what the label seems to imply.

"This stuff is the best. Here, try this." And if you're nearby he pours you a drink. Even if you're not that nearby he'll probably end up calling you over. "This is what real liquor tastes like."

II. Around the Carnival

He's just a little bit drunk right now. He isn't stumbling, but his psionics seem to be going off much more frequently then normal.

"Hey, you! You!" he shouts loudly as he see's you walking by. He rapidly waves your character over before excitedly asking them, "Truth or dare?"

III. Supervisor Grove

Now he's really really drunk. He probably should not have drank that entire bottle, but it's too late for regrets now. His head is spinning, which is annoying, and he keeps wobbling a bit as he tries to balance himself. He stumbles, tries to catch himself with his own psionics, misjudges the force and ends up pushing himself flat on his back in the opposite direction. There's the thud of his body hitting the ground before before he just starts laughing hysterically. He makes no attempt to get up whatsoever.

"Neither," answers John Childermass, who is far too sober for anything a drunken Psi might consider fun.

He'd retreated from the medical tent (and Strange's spying) before the supervisor's meeting had drawn to an end, supposedly to rest, but mostly to put an end to a completely non-sigil related argument. Unfortunately, rest doesn't come easy when you're stuck wondering what the hell happened after all, so instead he's seated on the steps of his own trailer, filling the time by — once again — writing in one of his little memo books.

As much as he'd been hoping to spot a supervisor on the way back from the meeting, spotting one being drunk and disorderly isn't exactly what he'd meant. He does stop writing to look up, though, and keep an eye on Psi as he approaches.

"Have you been drinking?"

Kind of obviously yes, sure, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.

So very, very drunk. Childermass frowns at the shouting, but it's not like telling Psi to be quiet is going to help if he's already that far gone. Instead, he closes the notebook and, briefly, considers refusing again, but then what? Be pestered until he agrees, anyway? Besides, this probably isn't even the most absurd thing he's dealt with since getting here...

"Fine." He knows this game by another name, but he imagines it still works the same. "I'll pick truth."

Okay, one question in and Childermass is already done with this game. Of all the things to ask... It doesn't even take more than a short moment to figure out what Psi's really asking and now he has to decide whether to answer it rudely or not. Regardless, the answer is going to be deadpan as all hell.

"Mr. Strange and I are acquaintances by way of our work," is the most boring answer of all time, but it's true, so deal with it. "So 'friends' is not a word I would use."

He's not dignifying the 'more than friends' part with an answer.

"And I believe that makes it your turn."

Susan doesn't even question it when the Psionic waves him over, interested to see what's going on. The question though makes him pause, since he's never played that game before or even heard of it (where would you when you live in a forest?).

"What do you mean?"

Childermass is good at boring, particularly when it's actually anything but. It's Psi's turn, however, and he's chosen dare! Dare. What would even be a good dare? The first thing to come to mind is daring him to talk about the supervisor meeting, but that as the first dare seems a bit too presumptuous.

Maybe as the next one.

He leans back against the trailer door and looks about them, gaze eventually landing on someone else's trailer.

"Alright. Go climb that," he says, pointing the trailer in question out. "And bring me back something from the top of it. If you can't find anything, move on to the next one over."

Furthermore, he levels his pointing finger back to Psi.

"No flying."

"Oh, okay!" He laughs too as he gets it, then nods.

"Okay, then... Truth!" Not that dare doesn't sound fun, too, but he has to start somewhere.

The thing about staying around to creep on the supervisor meeting long enough is that you actually see some interesting things. And hey, even if the log's still going and sigils have yet to be blown up, the Ringmaster yelled at some people and that in itself is worthy of gossip. So, Strange has left the medical tent and is walking around the carnival itself, trying to find Childermass in an attempt to gossip and...well, maybe sort of apologize for the fight. Maybe. Even if the other man was needlessly stubborn about the stupid timeline.

Instead, he spots Psi who...well, even from afar Strange can tell that the poor man's a bit drunk. Still, he doesn't have to be at his fullest facilities to answer a simple question. So, as the other man waves him over, Strange decides to walk on over to the supervisor.

As Psi starts his question, Strange asks, at the same time, "You haven't seen Childermass around, have you?" Oh, wait, there was a question. There's a pause before Strange answers, "Dare?" After all, what's the worst that Psi could dare him to do?

Well, so far, so good.

"Take all the time you need," Childermass assures him. He'll wait. He's got nowhere else to be, really, and this is about as entertaining as writing now that it's Psi's turn, so he's just going to lean back and enjoy the show.

He bounces in place a little while he waits, but luckily he doesn't have long enough to really get impatient before the Psionic asks that. Susan laughs a little in response, making a little face and shaking his head.

"No way! I never really see anyone except my brother." And that would be weird.
kingsroads: (maybe don't DO that?!)

[personal profile] kingsroads 2017-01-13 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well alright then. He didn't expect that for a dare. He expected something fun and show-offy, not kissing. There's a pause as Strange mulls this over. The problem with this is that he doesn't really want to kiss anybody. He's married (sort of) so any sort of passionate kisses are strictly set aside for Arabella. Still, he's already seeing a way to complete this and fulfill all the requirements.

"I'm afraid in order to complete that, I'm going to need your hand," he says, as if it's the most matter-of-fact thing in the world.

After all, Psi is technically the next person he sees...and the troll didn't specify where the kiss had to be. One quick little kiss on the hand, like a gentleman would to a lady, and he'll have completed the dare to the letter!

Ginko didn't really come to the Cookhouse with drinking in mind, but he doesn't really see any need to turn down the offer. ...Especially given how his shoulder keeps hurting. The sooner that finishes healing, the better, and in the meantime he guesses he'll just put up with it.

And stick to light work, which is a little annoying.

However, he does raise an eyebrow at the color of the liquid as he examines it in his glass. "Should I ask what it is, or is it better that I don't know?"

'Psiioniic falls back down' was certainly on the list of possibilities Childermass had in mind with this dare, though that fall did sound particularly bad. It could be he's just acting out drunkenly, but it's enough to get Childermass to set his notes aside and stand up from the trailer steps.

A few steps later, he's dropped down into a crouch next to Psi. He'll check on him, but he's not going to reach out to the troll unless it's clear he actually does need the help.

"Alright there?"

Which roughly translates to 'you dead yet, man'?

Strange can't help but smile a little self-satisfied smile as he takes Psi's hand. He bends down slightly as he raises the troll's hand to his mouth, giving it a quick kiss, but a kiss nonetheless.

As he drops Psi's hand, Strange is still a bit puffed up with pride. "There we go! One kiss, given to the next person I saw." And probably a sign that it's a good idea to get specific with these dares. "I believe that it's your turn?"

"Who would I even get a crush on here?" It's funny to even think about, honestly.

But okay, now they get to continue the game it seems? He's definitely okay with that.

"Truth or dare?"
