What: As the Harbingers reveal themselves, those among the carnival that Creation has chosen will start to discover new powers within themselves. It's because they're magical girls, yo.

HARBINGERS OF VOID↴

On Day 16, the Harbingers begin revealing their new selves... in the form of wreaking havoc on the city! CY-Ren isn't looking for mass panic or serious structural damage - instead she wants constant annoyances and distractions, of the sort that will keep those that might be on her tail distracted from her true plans. However, when Creation is faced with the threat of twelve new Harbingers, it will have to fight in kind...

► HARBINGERS: Your job is to use your powers to create messes for other people to clean up! CY-Ren gives no specific instructions outside of a general framework... flex your powers! See what you can do. Don't destroy the city or anything, but give Creation a run for its money. She needs these civilians alive for her later plans.

► STAR GUARDIANS: Twelve members of the carnival have been chosen by Creation to fight in its name, even if they don't realize it yet. When confronted by the Harbinger's chaos, their Sparks will make themselves known in whatever form is appropriate to the character - and they will be asked if they are willing to use the power of their soul to fight the darkness. How this scene plays out can be flexible, but essentially they will find themselves faced with the question: are they willing to fight for the preservation of life? If they say yes, their Spark will emerge, and they will be able to trigger a magical girl transformation, as you do.

► CHARITY CONCERT: While everyone else is busy with the sudden rise of the Harbingers, CY-Ren's PR team is releasing a statement -- they will say that new information has revealed that there had been bomb threats made against the canceled concert, which are now being blamed for the damages. CY-Ren will make a personal statement, saying that in order to apologize for the failure of her previous performances, a new free to attend event is being planned for the near future - people who had tickets to the previous event and had to go home early get top priority!

9S doesn't mind the skirt and the skimpy top, but it's definitely not his first preference when it comes to clothes. Really, the only part of the entire ensemble he takes issue with are the shoes.

He shakes his head. "I wanted to take them off, but..." 9S shrugs helplessly. "I had a really bad feeling about it. I guess the powers come with the clothes?"

Speaking of which... 9S eyes Yuya.

"I'm guessing the same thing happened to you? Weird voice in your head asking dumb questions? And then..." 9S gestures at Yuya and his new outfit.

"Huh? Oh, yeah," He twists a little, looking over his new magical outfit. "I think it was creation...? And we're Star Guardians, like Noa!"

He doesn't have a familiar to explain any of that to him, but somehow saying it just feels... right. Also he has a bunch of new magic he didn't have before, and nobody else seems to use magic here but guardians and harbingers.

He looks back at 9S, suddenly more severe. "The people CY-Ren kidnapped, they're working with her now... so we must have been given powers to save them, before they can destroy this world."

Save them, of course, because there's no way they're leaving any of them to this fate--or worse, taking them out permanently as a result of it. No, they'll definitely put a stop to things and bring them back around away from the void in the process.

9S can't say he's too impressed with Noa, but that's mostly because Rita and him were nearly crushed thanks to the fight Noa picked with CY-Ren without checking if there was anyone on her team in the line of fire.

9S brushes off imagined dirt from one of his gloves. "So you ran into one of the missing people too, huh?"

Destroying the world... He can't say he's too attached to this particular one, but there are humans here.

"I'll contact Syrlya. You weren't able to detain the person you ran into, right?"

[ooc: handwave 9S contacting Syr so I don't spam his inbox too much?]

Yuya wonders, briefly, why he wouldn't tell Lambert or Sans, but probably whoever Syrlya is can handle it.

"No," Yuya looks sheepish as he says it, averting his gaze. He did a lot more poorly than 'wasn't able to detain'. Maybe he should see if he can stick people in bubbles like Steven can, though.

"Maybe if we can bring them to the Ringmaster, she can fix it."

Hm, that's an idea.

"You think the Ringmaster is more powerful than whatever CY-Ren did to them?"

She is powerful, but there are limits to it. And she didn't seem to want to get too involved, based on the radio post.

"Who did you run into, anyway?"

"Maybe. But I know she's fixed brainwashing before." So even if she can't beat CY-Ren in a direct confrontation (although Yuya's pretty sure she can) he has full confidence in her ability to reverse brainwashing.

Granted it was probably why she didn't want then getting involved, either.

"I ran into Yugo and Steven." And got his ass thoroughly kicked, so he's not going to go into too much detail. "Uh, it was Yugo first and that's when I got these powers."

"Does brainwashing happen a lot?" Because he sure is getting the feeling that the Carnival has a brainwashing problem.

Maybe they shouldn't have gotten involved? But the problem Noa was facing would still persist. It just wouldn't be their problem. He quickly puts that thought out of his mind; it would be the humans' problem and he wouldn't be able to accept that.

"Did they have new powers as well?"

Yuya pauses to consider that. Does everyone being stuck in alternate lives for two month's count as getting brainwashed? Does that mean Strange was double brainwashed?

He opts not to answer that question, instead focusing on the Harbingers. "Yugo definitely did... I guess everyone gets them, whether they're picked by Creation or Void? I guess it wouldn't be as serious if they weren't strong..."

~~If Portland Strange got brainwashed by a Carnival member, does that make him triple brainwashed?~~

"That bad, huh?"

9S surveys Yuya. He's a performer, not a Nightrunner. It makes him wonder...

"Do you even have any combat experience?"

"Uh--no." Definitely not like the Nightrunners or... even like this. Dueling isn't for hurting people, and he could never use solid vision for violence the way academia did. Not in his right mind, Anyway.

"Not really, but I don't want to fight with them anyway! Noa and CY-Ren weren't fighting like that, it was... it was different."

Oh boy. And Creation picked Yuya to fight? That seems a bit unfair. Besides, he doesn't want Yuya getting hurt...

"What do you mean by different?" 9S' lasers spin in lazy circles around him. "I was there, but they broke the stage on us, sooo I didn't see a thing."

He waves a hand vaguely in the air. "CY-Ren was playing her violin and Noa was dancing with a big hoop. They were fighting, but it wasn't exactly like a fight!" He doesn't really have a better way to describe it.

"I saw the stage start to break... is everyone okay?" He doesnt know who else 9S is referring to being with him, but he'd be concerned all the same.

Even though Yuya's a human, the look 9S gives him is one where he clearly thinks Yuya's stupid, brows clearly furrowed in consternation. Yuya, what's that supposed to mean? Granted, 9S is having a hard time trying to imagine what fighting with a musical instrument and a hoop is supposed to look like, but still.

9S waves a hand dismissively. "Yeah, Rita and I are fine."

Amazingly. Thanks to some quick thinking on her part. Granted, the debris falling on him probably wouldn't have hurt him too badly, but Rita's a totally different matter.

"Anyway, if you don't want to fight, how are we supposed to get everyone back?" Can they just stab CY-Ren?

Yuya would explain it better if he could. Instead, he just gives 9S a slightly frustrated look back.

"I don't know, but I don't think being violent is going to convince them the Void is wrong, either! There has to be something better than hurting each other."

Why is everyone's first solution stabbing.
