What: After all the rescues team return, it will be matter of tending to the wounded and getting the hell out of dodge. The Ringmaster can handle the fleeing part, but someone will need to look after those in the medical tent. Or, maybe, you just want to show up and ask what the hell happened.
Warnings: Some messed up consequences of faerie fuckery.

IN REPAIR↴ As the minutes tick past, all four rescue groups will eventually return. Everyone in the carnival is encouraged to help out, ensuring that the rescues and victims both are taken care of after the fact. You can tag in here as rescuers taking care of business around the carnival, victims recovering, or other workers checking in to see what's going on. This log is for general aftermath threads, made by anyone.

“Said something stupid,” Lambert can’t even remember exactly what he said now — in the heat of the moment, he mouths off without putting a single thought about what’s coming out.

“We had the fae ... we didn’t leave him.”

"You... didn't leave him. What are you talking about?" Please fill her in, Lambert? Is there another fae pissed off at them? Because, like, Lapis can't handle that.

“We trapped him. We gave him our memories. Then I made her come ... and ...” He frowns. He doesn’t remember this part, on account of being incredibly unconscious. “Told ‘er to kill him or take him. Dunno which she did.”

Lapis hopes dead? Like, no offense to Iggy, she doesn't even know him, but she does know that she'd much rather him be dead and not a threat. Mostly because she doesn't understand that Fae are incredibly petty to begin with.

"Why'd you give him your memories?" That sounds like a bad plan, but this is the only thread of that that Lapis cares to follow.

“Mostly because... was tired of them fucking with ours.” It had seemed a good idea at the time. Weaken, shock him, and maybe ... something after that, if the Ringmaster hadn’t called.

“They don’t ... feel the way we do.” Can gems even feel the way humans do? Whatever, for the sake of the conversation that’s a technicality he’ll ignore. “So we tried to make him feel ... mortal.”

Whether it worked or not, he doesn’t know.

"Uhhuh. What I'm getting out of this is that you probably pissed him off that much more before whatever happened happened." And now Lapis is really hoping on death, but you know. "Don't know if you know this, but things that don't normally have to worry about death, generally are really bad at dealing with it."

“I know,” Lambert says, tiredly. “The Ringmaster made the same mistake, when she killed the Winter Queen...”

Which, if Lapis didn’t know before thanks to fusing with Jasper? She knows now. Congrats, all our suffering is because someone made a bad call and their relatives deal badly with death! Sounds way too familiar huh!

“Fae can’t change ... but the Beast did.” He remembers what she was like in Portland. She’d admitted that wasn’t far from the truth. “Maybe we all can.”

"She did what." No wonder all this bad stuff keeps happening. That's what happens when you kill someone high up the food chain, and it takes an immense amount of restraint for Lapis to not start yelling and, quite frankly, flip Lamberts cot right the fuck over.

[whattaprick]

"Wasn't her fault." Whether Lambert realizes Lapis is suddenly in a killing mood or not is debatable, as he looks more or less on the verge of falling asleep again.

"The Winter Maiden used her." He's convinced himself of that story, more or less, even with nothing to support it but his own suspicions and his own spite.

"So she murdered her. Yeah, that seems totally fair." Are you Serious, Lambert? Like, Actually Serious? Of course it's her fault! MURDERING SOMEONE IS A CHOICE.

[whattaprick]

"Well," Lambert says, matter of fact. "She's not exactly smart, is she."

[mirrortide]

Lapis has to absolutely restrain herself from making a comment that would likely get into trouble, so. She's not even going to reply to that, but she does look like she very much agrees with that sentiment.

Lambert misses that look, and the pause gives his brain time to wander around, skipping around thoughts like a mayfly, before he settles on--

"Glad you're back."

[mirrortide]

"What?" Hopefully Lambert is understanding of the fact that Lapis doesn't understand why he'd be glad that she's back. In fact, she's giving him a very obvious I Don't Believe You look. "Why?"

[whattaprick]

"I don't give a shit about you," the witcher tells her plainly, which is probably more along the lines of what she expected him to say.

"But 'Dot and Steven do." He grunts, forehead wrinkling irritably. "The other one get back too?"

Jasper. He's talking about Jasper.

No, that lines up exactly with it, and she frowns, because yeah, that tracks. Whatever, it's at least honest, and Lapis can respect that. "Jasper's back too. Sort of."

[whattaprick]

"Sort of?" Lambert blinks at Lapis, expectantly. Don't just leave him hanging here, Lapis.

[mirrortide]

"Gems damaged. Her physical form is unstable. Waiting on Steven to fix it." There's your deets, jerk.

[whattaprick]

Lambert digests that information.

"She's not very smart either."

[mirrortide]

"No. No she's not." Lapis puts her head into her hand. "Try being stuck to her for six months straight with no one else around."

[whattaprick]

"You don't seem like you'd put up with that." Well, she doesn't. "Lose a bet?"

[mirrortide]

"Stars no." Lapis waves her hand. "I bound her to me in a fusion and stuck us both at the bottom of the ocean." She says it like it's not any big deal, when, in fact, it's a huge deal.

[whattaprick]

"... Why?" It's not that he gets how big a deal it is or isn't... but he's curious.

[mirrortide]

"To protect Steven." Lambert doesn't get any more of an explanation.

[whattaprick]

"Fair enough." Lambert already knows she cares about Steven, like, a lot. No need to reiterate that.

Though after a moment of considering the topic longer, he has to venture:

"Did she kick ass?" No, he absolutely isn't providing any context for the question. Lapis will have to figure that one out herself.
