What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.

THE BIG CLEANSE↴ As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely. ► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that. Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional. ► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well. ► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

Oh, to be completely ignorant of small cultural details. Shura grins at the sight of his kimono on the wrong way, but she won't laugh. The overall picture works, even if that print is certainly something. Well, that kind of print suited him in a way.

"Nyaha! I wouldna' thought you could pull of somethin' like that, but it looks good!" He did seem like a colorful guy, and a guy working in his area should be a little ostentatious.

"But you like the way it looks like this? Heh, I should show you how to do a nice knot. I mean, if you're gonna go for that print, you might as well go all the way with it~"

I still have the bottle in my trailer, if you want to try some when we get back to the Carnival. It would probably knock you out too, since all you drink is cheap beer. [Also he's going to start in on that tempura now, since it's hot.]

It's later in the day when Tanyuu returns to the room, a few bags hanging off an arm, and she pauses in the doorway.

"Ginko! Did you just get back?"

[ wow, son, wow. Those are fighting words, and Shura raises a brow. Just what had gotten into him to make him so feisty? ]

Ah, well that beer is good, y’know. But do you think that’s all I drink? It almost sounds like you’re tryna say you can handle your booze better than I can~

[ Eat that tempura up, Yukio. He’s going to need it if he’s going to survive drinking with Shura. ]

I've seen you drink before. You don't have much of a tolerance.

Ginko jolts, turning to look at Tanyuu after a moment with... maybe guilt? It's hard to say, because whatever crosses his face is gone an instant later.

He doesn't even sit up, just inclines his head in what might pass for a nod. "...Just... a few hours ago."

That's recent, right?

Lambert grins, willing to play along. "Exactly. Takes a gem to pick a gem, after all." He moves aside so Steven can get a better look at the display. Fortunately, it's not all that high off the ground, so it shouldn't be hard for Steven to get a look. As expected of a tourist down, the display is meant to dazzle and impress the buyer with sparkle and shine, and this stall has plenty of it, in every configuration from earrings to necklaces to rings.

What Lambert draws attention to, though, are the earrings, which he points to with a clawed finger.

"I'm thinking of getting one of those. What do you think?"

"I am made of mirrors, thank you very much. There's a difference." An arbitrary one, but still counts.

"And I suspect it will be six or seven drinks in before I puke on you."

"No, no, you don't need to apologize!" She insists, waving her hands. "I think everything's gone back to normal now."

After all, she hasn't split into two halves like some of the other carnival members. Yet.

"You're coming with us, now, right? With the carnival, I mean," She asks. "That kind of thing tends to happen a lot."

[stompadour]

"Hmh..." Jasper frowns, trying to remember specifics. "She just said she wanted to take the opportunity to relax," she says, wrinkling her nose (or, at least, the nose-adjacent region of her face) in disgust.

"Really?" Jasper raises her (freshly groomed) eyebrows. "They can't have been very important ones."

To be honest, Eruka could sort of respect the few thousand souls thing as long as her soul wasn't one of them, but it's not exactly light dinnertime conversation, so maybe she missed out on most of the details.

"Then you just keep running. As long as you don't get caught, it doesn't matter," she says stoutly. “Just look at the Ringmaster! Sure, her mistakes might be catching up with her now, but she has enemies that live for millenia and are functionally immortal, so that's different!"

Eruka points a finger a Carly, triumphant. "All you have to do ... is outlive the people looking for you!"

So one Jasper is pissed because the other Jasper wants to actually take a vacation. Amazing. "I see," Joker says simply. He'll keep his thoughts to himself in front of the tall muscular woman who can kick his ass. "At least that means we'll have a decent idea of where she is. So, I'll keep an eye out. Keep up the good work."

"MNH-! That-!"

"It's a temporary name," Marishi chuckles. "Because the scripture found describing it stated it had 'red blood flowing through its body'. We don't actually know what it looks like on the outside!"

"Nor species, nor size... ...Simply that it escaped, to run free."

[Well, It isn’t like he’s completely off the mark. But he hasn’t really gotten to see her in full reckless party mode.]

Ha, that ain’t wrong.

[With that, she start in on some of th tempura, but she’ll only get one bite in before grinning. ]

But if you’re so confident, doin’ some shots with me shouldn’t be an issue, right~?

It's very hard. Not having a heart attack. This is too many choices, and she has to pick the first ones she sees???

Upsetting! It's upsetting! Her daemon grumbles a bit the longer they go, even as the pile is getting thinned out.

"Mnnhhhn..."

Steven leans in close, pleased to look at them, though he pauses after a moment and glances back at Lambert.

"Are you trying to pick?" he asks, and then looks back to the display, now putting a serious effort into contemplating it. "Hmm, what's your favourite color?"

Probably not a question a witcher gets asked a lot, but here we are.

Alright, that sounds like a good time to pause. So, with the latest pair put aside, Joker turns around so that he go crouch down in front of Reira.

"Head hurtin'?" he asks, before pausing. "Well, maybe not literally, although I wouldn't be surprised."

Well. Fine. At least they're going. Maybe they'll even enjoy themselves.

"So we're lookin' for something that we don't have a clue what it looks like?" Hanamaru siiiighs. They've got their work cut out for them: this isn't going to be easy.

"Hopefully the Ringmaster's at least got an idea of where to look. Otherwise, it seems a bit hopeless, zura."
