What: With the Silver Mirror claimed and the animals of Eden relocated, it's time for the carnival to kick back and enjoy an interdimensional bathhouse and the surrounding festival city. Meanwhile, the scattered shards of the Mirror have an unexpected effect.
Warnings: Dark/Light halves acting weird.

THE BIG CLEANSE↴ As the carnival recovers, the Ringmaster has brought it to the gates of a famous interdimensional bathhouse to rest. She won't be joining you for most of it, though she will be checking in frequently and available by radio. She's fixed a large portion of the Silver Mirror after it shattered, but it seems like pieces are missing. She doesn't want to rest until the missing shards are dealt with, and the Mirror itself is locked away safely. ► YOUR OTHER HALF: The shards missing from the Silver Mirror didn't just disappear - after breaking apart in Eden, fragments of the object embedded themselves in the spirits of those not already touched by its powers, and those that had been the most fae-touched. That means, your characters. The effect of this, explained in more detail on the plotting post, is that some characters will be splitting into two versions of themselves: the Light, and the Dark. This doesn't mean good and evil, of course, it's far more complicated than that. Splits can start happening at any time after arriving in Shabon, and initially characters won't know how to rejoin with their twins. Later on, it will become apparent that they need to reconnect via the shard of the Mirror they share... of course, in order to rejoin, you have to have both halves, and not all twins will be as eager to go back to the way things were before. This plot point is optional. ► SPA DAY: When you're not engaging in metaphysical division, you are free to enjoy the many luxuries that Shabon offers. Things will mostly have an east-Asian bend, like what you would see in the movie Spirited Away, but as long as it doesn't affect the setting much, you can honestly have whatever spa-type services available that you want. Food is served both in restaurants and 'buffet' style. There are also well paid sex workers here, if that is your thing, but make sure to tip well. ► FESTIVAL TOWN: The city surrounding Shabondamashii is largely meant to catch the business of interdimensional tourists. There are frequent parades and other events held, and the architecture is very closely packed. It's easy to get lost if you leave the bathhouse, but it's definitely worth it if you like party. You can pick out a few outfits for yourself and some fun nick nacks, but nothing that would normally require mod approval.

She'd be playing with the cat, too? Well, she could work with that, but Shura wasn't expecting Yukio to suggest him.

"Sure, sure." She flips her last cup, leaving Yukio stuck with the flower cup, and she ever so helpfully scoots the bottle towards him. Was there even enough left in the bottle for that many shots? Oh well, she'd call for some shochu if not.

i can't remember if he knows about ginko's booze blood or not oops

"I wouldn't be surprised," Childermass says with a laugh and finishes his own glass before setting it down to refill it. "Changes seem to go all over the place for some people. For all we know, Lambert's been bleeding alcohol forever and we just can't tell the difference."

[reflash]

There's no way there's enough in the bottle for that many shots, and he has two cups left when he runs out of alcohol to pour.

"It looks like we're out." Not that he really thinks he'll get off the hook for this one, and when Shura orders another round he finishes filling the cups and takes his drinks in quick succession, not outwardly reacting to the different (higher proof) replacement.

"All right, it's your turn." He doesn't ask to add in another set of cups this time, but he's willing to go another round with her.

[starseedling]

"They WHAT?" Steven starts, and at first it's in the jovial tone of just asking for the deets, but then he seems to realize that actually doesn't make any sense at all.

"Wait... I didn't even think they knew how marriage worked."

[starseedling]

"Whuh...?" Steven asks, looking completely confused. There are a lot of questions here. "I didn't... even know you could do that. I thought you weren't allowed to have people sent home?"

If he could have done that, he would have gotten Greg sent home right away, before all that dumb stuff happened.

[drrdrrdrr]

"Ruby read about it in a comic," says Amethyst with a cheerful shrug. "Her and Sapphire had a little falling out about some stuff and they decided to make a big thing out've it when they got back together. Obviously you helped a ton."

[starseedling]

He kind of wants to ask what happened, but at the same time, it's not like he hasn't seen Garnet break up about something before... and there was a lot going on at home. The fact that it has a happy ending is so pleasing, though, that he's not even sure he wants to know.

"Oh man. It must have been so romantic..." Garnet is everyone's favourite couple, after all. "...It sucks that they got in a fight, but... who could ask for a happier ending? I hope I get to see it whenever I go back..."

If Garnet had a wedding and he never gets to see it, he'll be really upset.

[periphrasing]

"You can't, normally. But my contract needed to be renewed, and I'm in pretty good standing with the Ringmaster, so, I did. And now I feel terrible."

She can't bring herself to look at him.

[starseedling]

Does he need to ask her why? Lapis hated it here, the whole time she was present. Things only sort of starting turning around recently, but even so... she felt so trapped.

"What did Lapis say?" he asks.

[drrdrrdrr]

"Aw, of course you will," Amethyst says, giving him a pat (squelch) on the shoulder. "And it'll be great. I never knew how much of a pro at weddings you were."

[starseedling]

"Haha, oh man, I've been keeping a scrapbook filled with all the best wedding stuff ever since dad told me what a wedding was!" Steven says, vicariously pleased at having been able to realize his wedding dreams back at home. "I've never organized a wedding before, but I've watched a lot of TV, and that's practically the same thing."

strange sure af doesn't

[kingsroads]

"I would tell the difference," Strange clarifies. "Even if it was alcoholic blood, it would smell like alcohol. I'm certain I could piece out that scent quicker than you."

Because Strange spent most of his twenties being a fucking useless drunk!

[periphrasing]

It's tempting to argue, and for a second it looks like she might? Jasper clearly doesn't know herself very well, considering that when she was still a whole person, she swore up and down that she had no desire to try any of the new things that this Jasper has been trying.

Suddenly, Peridot realizes: This is not her problem! "You know what? Fine. Have it your way, sort it out yourself!" she gestures irritably. "I like that you're exploring new things. Do whatever makes you happy!"

[atouts]

Okay, that earns a scoff of disbelief. Childermass shakes his head and sets his drink down without taking a sip, lest he laugh it all out again.

"You? Please, I'd sniff that out faster than you ever could," he disagrees.

[periphrasing]

"Nothing." When she says that, her fingers tighten into the fabric of the knees of her slacks, and she keeps staring sullenly into the middle distance.

[starseedling]

Steven still isn't getting it, and it's clear on his face.

"Was... Was she mad?" he asks, interpretting that as 'sullenly silent' and not 'wasn't there to say anything.'

[periphrasing]

Peridot exhales in annoyance. The silence drags for a few long moments, but she lifts her head a bit so that her face isn't totally obscured by her knees when she finally grumbles: "I don't know. I suppose I'll find out whenever I make it home next, because I didn't ask for her input on the matter."

[kingsroads]

Strange laughs, as if Childermass is telling a hilarious joke.

"Shall we put this to a test then?"

[starseedling]

"You... What?" he asks in complete bewilderment. Now he gets it, though it takes a second to sink in. "Peridot!"

[atouts]

"Mr. Strange, I spent my entire childhood around drunkards and criminals," Childermass points out. Whether he knew that before or not, well, he doesn't really talk much about his life, so probably not. "But if you're feeling bold, very well. Let's."

[insidescoop]

"Ah..." Oh.

Carly blinks, and furrows her brows. "That's....a good question. I do have a giant material recycler I suppose..." she hums, crossing her arms. "...I suppose depending on what you need, we'll have to barter!"

[insidescoop]

"Simpler isn't the word I'd use.... ...But I guess they're 'weaker'..! But that just means I get more flavor- more fruit mixes, and slush, and cherries..!"

COCKTAIL PARTY TIME.

[periphrasing]

There it is. Peridot flinches when he says her name, ears twitching back anxiously as she retreats back behind her knees.

"Amethyst told me that she leaves. After you get back from Homeworld, she gets scared of the Diamonds, and then she takes the barn, and all our stuff, and she takes off into space and leaves me and Pumpkin behind. I didn't want to spend an INDEFINITE period of time, wondering when she was going to turn around and do the same thing to me here," she splutters defensively, still refusing to look at him. Her tone is higher pitched than normal, strained to the point where it sounds like it might break.

[starseedling]

He doesn't want to be hard on her, he isn't well suited to it. Yet, as upsetting as it is to hear what Lapis was doing back home...

"But..." he says, his voice becoming softer and sadder at the thought. "You didn't even give her the choice to leave."

[periphrasing]

"I... I didn't need to ask, I already knew what her answer would have been!" she insists, unfurling a bit to steady herself with one hand against the edge of the bath. Panic is starting to slip in and force out the sadness. Part of her knows she made a terrible decision, but she can't allow herself to admit that for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which being, to do so would make her own hurt and betrayal over what Lapis did feel completely invalid.
