DAYS OF SUMMER↴![]() You made it! And things are back to normal... more or less. Upon waking, you will be greeted with a clear blue sky and gentle breeze – the carnival has found itself situated between a pair of mountain peaks, with great fields of flowers extending in the distance. In the other direction, you’ll see mountain-top cities and tall waterfalls accenting vast swaths of forest. Some of you will already know this place. It’s the Summerlands. You game here once to rest in safety nearly a year ago, and now you’ve come to rest once again. ► WAKING UP: Shortly after the carnival arrives, the Ringmaster will send out a somewhat cryptic radio message - but her immediate location won't be clear. Whatever items you had on your person at the time the Severing was broken will still be on your person, including whatever clothing. All of the animals and pets of the carnival will have returned to the grounds as well, though they are currently free from their designated living spaces. Things in the carnival will appeared to have naturally aged a month, as if the carnival was been sitting here empty and waiting while everyone was in Portland. The lawn needs mowing. ► SUMMER CITY: After the Summer Fae become aware of everyone's presence, they will welcome you into their city. There are stairs that lead up the sides of the mountains, but thankfully there are also magical means of getting up there as well. The Summer Fae will be willing to help workers with the injured as needed, offering herbal remedies and healing magic to those that want it. You'll also be invited to join them for dinner, but they will not be particularly offended if they are turned down, for now. ► SUMMER PEOPLE: The fae here will mostly enjoy the company of any carnival members that offer it - it doesn't seem that much happens here besides day after day of peaceful meditation and relaxation. It is not uncommon to see Summer Fae spent days doing exactly the same thing, whether that be enjoying the weather, listening to music, or dancing - the day and night periods may be similar to earth, but when you don't need rest it can all blur together just the same. Some of the fae work on feats of agriculture or craftsmanship, and while there is no particularly need to work in this place, they take pride in the fact that they do. ► NEW ARRIVALS: Though the Ringmaster will not be offering much guidance for the first week or so, eventually the carnival will begin running for a few small performance sessions, off and on, as a thank you to their fae hosts. The carnival will also be open to receiving new arrivals during that period, and so there will likely be some newbies to train and get orientated as well. |

He stares at the ashes and the egg - the ash is all too familiar conceptually, when it comes to death - and then he looks up at the others.
"Phoenix?" he asks. Like, it's pretty obvious when you add everything up.

"AH- Sh...She really did leave a pile of ash..." she observes somewhat dumbly, staring to the egg. Being just in time to hear the word 'phoenix', she looks to Sans. "Mnnh, if she's a phoenix, I guess we just wait for her to hatch then... ...but we can't just leave her egg here can we..!?"
A pause, and-
"...She'd probably like some kind of party, too..."

"Oh, uh, no thank you." she says softly to Julien's human body (though she doesn't know that's who it is) while the supervisors enter the scene. She's glad when she sees Carly. At least Carly is someone familiar.
"Will she really be alright?" she asks, looking from Sans to Carly. None of the others were acting like it was a big deal, and even the Ringmaster had seemed unconcerned. Still, it wasn't everyday someone burst into flames, and she couldn't help worrying that somehow something would or had gone wrong.

He recognizes Sans, to be sure -- the face of the skele-angel that prevented him from having any fun at the ritual, that bastard. But hey, as it turns out, he's a supervisor!
(And so is that brat with the shadow demon? Must not be many candidates for important jobs around here.)
He scoops up the egg in his arms, cradling it awkwardly.
"Since you like protectin' shit so much, here!" he shoves the egg at Sans, though he's not stupid enough to let go of it until the skeledude has his arms on it, "I proclaim you keeper of the Boss Egg."

Now that Sans and Carly are on the scene, he's going slowly sag against the back of the bleacher he's been seated on this whole time and stop struggling against just how exhausted he feels. Blood loss, probably, considering how much dry blood is actually still smeared on him.
So yeah, don't mind Childermass. He's more than happy to fall silent and let someone else take over now.

He takes the egg in his hands, though, which is sort of funny due to how big it is compared to his small body. He ignores Zangetsu's supposed mockery, and instead focuses on 'listening' to the egg and tapping a knuckle against its shell.
"Wonder what happens if you smash a phoenix egg," he muses out loud. "Is there just another egg inside of it?"
His grin widens, as he follows up with:
"You know, some kinda... egg-ception?"
no subject
"That's not funny. She could get seriously hurt if you're not careful."

Julien winces and starts to reach out/stand up at the vague threat against the egg but stops himself, and is glad Marinette says it instead. Don't be nest-obsessed, Julien. ...Does this mean he won't be able to eat hen eggs anymore? He hopes not, eggs are delicious. "Yeah, uh... what are you going to do with her?"

"Don't get so egg-cited," he says. "I can pretty much guarantee you that nothing I do too this egg would matter in the long run, but it doesn't matter one way or the other... because it's my job to defend the carnival, and the Ringmaster is technically included in that."
He shrugs.
"She's got a whole room set up for this junk anyway."

Or he wishes. Or anything, really, besides feeling full of aches and existential crisis.
Landing down, because of course he flew, Joker glances over everybody. "Well, if Sans is here ta take care of things, I suppose that's that." He nods his head to the other supervisor, totally pretending right now that they weren't at all awkwardly existing in the same area in another life. "I wouldn't worry about it, all of ya. Now, who needs help gettin' dragged ta the medical tent?"
no subject
And she doesn't know how long it will be. "Sans is right!" She pipes in, managing a hair of optimism in her voice. "The Ringmaster has a tent for the eggs where people revive...So if there's a good place for her to get better, that's it!" She cheers, albeit taking care to hide her cut arms now. It's just a few scratches from the ice in that fight, honest!!

Hiking the egg up into a more comfortable position in his arms, he'll start wandering in the direction of the egg tent.
"That said, I think it's time for a week long nap."
