Performance and Dreamcatchers

Who: Joker, those working entertainment, and whoever wants to do fun arts and crafts
When: The day after the orientation, and then after the ringmaster's announcement
Where: The Big Tent and one of the side stages, respectively
What: Joker gets his performing ducks all in a row, and then does an arts and crafts corner. As you do. Mingle log!

At around ten in the morning, as he told a few other workers and anyone who'd been listening in on the walkie talkies, Joker starts to radio in those who are working under him to meet up in the big top. Hope you had breakfast and not a hangover! Of course, for anyone who tries not to attend, Joker will cheerfully hunt them down and bother them into going.

Sorry, mandatory, you know how it is.

It's later in the day, after the ringleaders' own announcement, that eventually Joker makes another of himself, this time to the general channel. It's an invitation to one of the side stages to make dreamcatchers together, for anyone who still craves company or simply doesn't know what the hell a dreamcatcher even is. Along with that, Joker has taken it upon himself to make sure signs advertising this are plastered all over the carnival.

[ An eyebrow quirks, smile widening a moment, before Greg raises a placating hand. ]

Nicknames can't just be chosen. They gotta come natural, or else they won't capture your own natural coolness.

[ He ties off his wrapped hoop, leaving the extra leather to make a loop. ]

Sometimes your coolest self shows through in an emergency! Or maybe it'll happen when you're just chilling. Nicknames're fickle beings.

[Papyrus strokes his completely imaginary beard for a few seconds, nodding thoughtfully.]

Cool nicknames are more complicated than I ever anticipated.

[With that confession out there, he looks back at the dreamcatchers and compares them. So he needs to finish wrapping around its circumference, and then... leave a little extra.]

[ At first he was joking around a little, but it seems Papyrus is taking this to heart. Not surprising, really. You don't need skin to want to fit in. ]

Coolness is a delicate and poorly understood science. No one has perfectly unlocked its secrets.

[All the wanting in his bones doesn't make him very good at it.]

Just imagine... The study of coolness. Coolology. People must line up to fund those grants. And who wouldn't? It would almost be worth all the long and boring paperwork, to be the one to unlock those deep secrets!

[Who needed quantum physics when you could have a degree in the fine art of being a cool dude? Too bad monster college didn't offer that major. He might have gone, if they did...]

[ Greg pauses for a moment, then nods as he cuts off a length of string. ]

You can write all the papers
And put on your shades,
There's more to being cool
Than passing grades!

Like the most important thing -- attendance!

[He leans over, watching the most recent step, and studies his own dreamcatcher's loose strings. What if, instead of cutting them, he tied them around some pasta...? What kind of pasta would be best for catching dreams?]

You betcha! Sing, write, compose, play... you got anything music needs doing, I'm your guy.

[It's not food until it's cooked. Before that, it's anything you can imagine. And Papyrus can imagine quite a lot!]

That's cool! I dreamed for years of having a theme song, but writing one is so hard! Much less setting it to a tune...

[ Well, Greg's kept his fair share of macaroni art over the years of dadhood, maybe he can't judge. ]

Ooh, that's a tall order. Capturing your essence in melody is no small feat. Do you play anything?
