Performance and Dreamcatchers

Who: Joker, those working entertainment, and whoever wants to do fun arts and crafts
When: The day after the orientation, and then after the ringmaster's announcement
Where: The Big Tent and one of the side stages, respectively
What: Joker gets his performing ducks all in a row, and then does an arts and crafts corner. As you do. Mingle log!

At around ten in the morning, as he told a few other workers and anyone who'd been listening in on the walkie talkies, Joker starts to radio in those who are working under him to meet up in the big top. Hope you had breakfast and not a hangover! Of course, for anyone who tries not to attend, Joker will cheerfully hunt them down and bother them into going.

Sorry, mandatory, you know how it is.

It's later in the day, after the ringleaders' own announcement, that eventually Joker makes another of himself, this time to the general channel. It's an invitation to one of the side stages to make dreamcatchers together, for anyone who still craves company or simply doesn't know what the hell a dreamcatcher even is. Along with that, Joker has taken it upon himself to make sure signs advertising this are plastered all over the carnival.

He drew them himself. Please appreciate the scribbled stars.

[Let’s be honest: it explains everything about Joker. He laughs again, leaning on one leg while his foot crosses behind it, and wiggles his fingers.]

Well, back when I was first startin’ out, it was only seven of us! When yer that small, sometimes ya gotta share jobs between ya! So I learned a few things, and then I kept learnin’ them. Besides, it’s better ta make people laugh, don’t ya think?

Merriment is a most wonderful thing, to be sure.

[His smile widens. Making people happy is much preferable to making them uneasy, which he has found happening with a few since his arrival. At the very least he was sure nobody would recognize his species in the proper costume.]

What do you suggest for a first act?

Well, jugglin’ tricks and jokes always got laughs back in England for me, but it depends on what ya learn the fastest and what yer already good at.

{A grin flickers over his face.]

Good at cartwheels?

[Gottlieb looks from Joker to his own, erm, nonathletic figure.]

I am not sure I could even do half of one, sir.

[Thank god for honesty. Joker chuckles into his hand.]

Well, it’ll be somethin’ ta work on. After all, as a performer, yer stamina is important. So why don’t we make sure we add a bit of exercise to yer schedule?

[veinglory]

Exercise?

[Well, that word certainly made an impression. The vampire sulked noticeably, wringing his hands.]

Er, what sort of exercise might we be discussing?

[Ah. One of the lazy types. Well, he’s glad to at least find this out sooner instead of later. For now, he just hums and pretends to give it some thought.]

Well, some runnin’ will work up yer stamina, and it’d be good ta make yerself a bit more flexible too, don’t ya think?

[veinglory]

[It is quite possible that Gottlieb has never ran a day in his life. Which, for a coward, should be some kind of badge of honor. Hiding is much preferred.]

I am suddenly very tired. Yes. I do believe I will go have a lay down.

[pipers_son]

[Joker told himself- really!- that he would stop using flirtation as a means to mess with…. Well. People under his area of work, not in general.]
[But…. sometimes to herd cats, you have to use a little catnip.]

[So, reaching forward, he tilts Gottlieb’s chin up and puts on another dashing smile.]

Oh? Now that’s a shame, and here I was thinkin’ I could do a bit a hands on exercise

[Did a firework go off somewhere? Gottlieb is pretty sure he sees sparks go off in his field of vision as Joker speaks. It is very hard to look at that face without feeling a warm fuzzy tingle washing over himself.]

You... don't say... ?

Oh, yes. But if yer not up ta it, so ta speak…

[ha ha dick joke]

[also flirting and dick joke in public around his other employees, ffs joker]

[Funnily enough, the target himself likely doesn't realize the double entendre, but he does realize an incredibly attractive man is offering to spend time with him. That alone is enough for his tune to change, eyes half-lidding as he gives an almost drunk giggle.]

If I may say so, sir, you could sell sand to an inhabitant of the Sahara.

Well, thank ya for the compliment~.

[Chuckling, he taps Gottlieb’s chin playfully before straightening up.]

Does that mean you’ve recovered from yer bout of faintness?

[veinglory]

[Sheepishly he shrugs his shoulders, totally having been caught in his own lie.]

By some miracle, I suppose I have. Will wonders never cease?

The carnival is just full of miracles, innit?

[Grinning good naturedly, he makes a gesture to some of the seats at the side.]

I’ll finish up gettin’ everyone organized, but I’ll be with ya in just a moment~.

[veinglory]

[If there's one thing that can be said for Gottlieb, it's that he tends to be fairly agreeable. Now that he's made a promise, he'll try and abide by it, sitting down politely in the chairs and spectating the other goings on as he waits.]

[It takes a while for Joker to finish sorting everyone out, but soon enough he's trotting over to the vampire with his usual grin.]
So I'm thinkin' we'll get started on stretches first. That'll be nice and easy, I think. Settle down on the floor, legs out in front of ya, if ya would please.

[veinglory]

[Stretches don't sound too terrible! He plops himself down and stretches his legs out as directed.]

There ya go~! And now what you’ll want ta do is lean forward until ya can touch the tip of yer toes…

[Drifting around behind Gottlieb, he gently presses his hand along his back to help get him there.]

Just like this~.

[He wasn’t joking about the hands on thing, although he figures he at least owes it to the poor sod for the trickery.]

[With the stomach Gottlieb has on him, this task is perhaps not as easy as it sounds. He looks determined to do it, however - doubly so at Joker adding a bit of a personal touch to the situation. He gives a giddy laugh and manages to complete the action, looking like he's having a world of fun in spite of his earlier hesitation.]

What a kind teacher you are!

That’s because I’m the best supervisor~. But that’s a good start! Just a few more different ones… I’ll show ya.

[And he does put Gottlieb through the paces, basic stretches including L-style sitting and arm stretches. When he’s done, he takes a step back.]

How do ya feel?

[veinglory]

[Even the simple stretches have him looking like he'd run a marathon. He's a panting, sweaty mess but he manages a weak smile for his supervisor.]

Very, very exercised!

And that was just stretchin’. It looks like I’ll have ta talk with Koel ta see what can pep ya up a bit for actual runnin’.

[He’s going to have to keep a close eye on Gottlieb to make sure he’s actually exercising, too…]
