Performance and Dreamcatchers

Who: Joker, those working entertainment, and whoever wants to do fun arts and crafts
When: The day after the orientation, and then after the ringmaster's announcement
Where: The Big Tent and one of the side stages, respectively
What: Joker gets his performing ducks all in a row, and then does an arts and crafts corner. As you do. Mingle log!

At around ten in the morning, as he told a few other workers and anyone who'd been listening in on the walkie talkies, Joker starts to radio in those who are working under him to meet up in the big top. Hope you had breakfast and not a hangover! Of course, for anyone who tries not to attend, Joker will cheerfully hunt them down and bother them into going.

Sorry, mandatory, you know how it is.

It's later in the day, after the ringleaders' own announcement, that eventually Joker makes another of himself, this time to the general channel. It's an invitation to one of the side stages to make dreamcatchers together, for anyone who still craves company or simply doesn't know what the hell a dreamcatcher even is. Along with that, Joker has taken it upon himself to make sure signs advertising this are plastered all over the carnival.

Thanks! [ he answers cheerily as he takes the wire and uses it to secure the bits of the dreamcatcher before it starts unraveling again. Okay, it's not exactly the prettiest looking thing, but at least it won't come apart? ]

It's Goku! Guess there's been lots going on since everything started.

[ Well, started for Goku, at least. Some folks have been here a lot longer than he has. ]

[That's what he signed his contract under anyway. And though he could easily go by Link the "hero" here, it both doesn't feel fitting and he's past such things by now...]

But I wouldn't be opposed if you would rather call me Shadow.

[ Yup, you're Shadow from now on. Goku's met so many new folks since arriving, it's easier to keep track of people by one name only. ]

So what've you been up to? How come you're always awake at night?

[Shadow's starting on his fifth dreamcatcher as he answers. Yes it does take energy out of him, but it feels like less effort and time on his part.]

It comes with being what I am, something made from darkness and shadows. I don't do well with things like being in the sun.

[The light literally burns still, no matter what the princess said. But it's not all bad, considering he still has his powers in this place. And he's used to limited hours for work and free time.]

[ Goku pauses his work to watch him do his thing. He's seen glimpses of it before when they first met, but it's the first time he's really been able to watch with something so intricate. ]

How come you're made from darkness and shadows?

[ How does that work, even? ]

Because dark magic.

[Therefore, Goku shouldn't get too caught up in the details, magic tends to avoid explanation.]

It doesn't really matter now, since that's all in the past.

[ Dark as in bad? He wonders if it's at all similar to Ukoku's magic, which is about shadows. Or actually, it's more like about nothing. He could carve out spaces and erase them from existence, whether it's a tree trunk, the side of a mountain, or the bottom half of your body.

...hopefully Shadow isn't talking about that kind of thing. ]

Why's it in the past? [ Sorry man, Goku is nosy. ]
