⇨ THE CELEBRATION

Who: Everyone, especially YOU.
When: Day 60 - Day 65
Where: The Celebration
What: The carnival workers are invited to spend the week within the realm of the Celebration, the grounds of a party that has been going on for centuries. Accommodations are luxurious, but those with keen instincts might notice something off about this whole arrangement... (Questions can go to the original setting post!)
Warnings: Booze, drugs, sex, and everything in between.

THE CELEBRATION

If you observe that the layout of the Celebration grounds seem inconsistent, then you would be correct. In reality, what lies at the end of each corridor depends largely on what the guests of the Celebration want at the time - if a few people find themselves craving a drink, a bar may appear. If a group finds themselves wanting to dance, a club will open up. This goes on at all hours of the night, and given how many dedicated partiers fill the building, the services are well used. It isn't instantaneous, and the Host has to consciously decide to provide that service, but the changes are fast none-the-less.

► ROOMS: Each trailer pair will be assigned a room to themselves - whether or not it has two double beds or a single king sized bed seems essentially random. Hopefully you aren't too sensitive about keeping that space to yourself. The curtains at the far side of the room don't actually lead outside, but instead to a walk-in closet filled with the Host's best guesses at the type of clothing you might like. They may not hit the nail on the head, but at the very least all the clothing will be in your size. The styles could be just about anything, from any universe, but they do tend to average out to clothing that is Earth-ish. Either that, or clothing that looks like they are meant for elves from a high fantasy novel to wear.

► SHOPPING: If none of your pre-picked outfits tickle your fancy, plenty of boutiques and clothing shops can also be found around the grounds - whatever you're thinking of, you'll probably be able to find a shop appropriate for it eventually. Though, maybe it doesn't really count as shopping if you don't have to pay for any of the things you take back to your room with you? Unfortunately, from the sounds of it, you won't be allowed to drag all of your haul back to the carnival with you, so you better enjoy it while you can.

► DINING: There is no daily schedule to follow, after you arrive. You are free to attend the dining room whenever you wish, and will be seated at large round tables with whoever else may be around at the time, and can either order from the menu or most dishes you may think of off the top of your head. If you don't like the fine dining experience, there are also a selection of smaller cafes and eateries that open and close at varying times of day - and, of course, you can always call for room service.

► ENTERTAINMENT: There is plenty of live music around the grounds (not that you can ever seem to remember who the performers were afterwards) whether it comes to harp music while you eat or a full set of DJs in the club you found. If you are inclined to look for them, you may also find some cozy lounges with big screen TVs, and access to a multi-universal quantity of films. What's there or isn't there is unpredictable, but if you come from a standard variety of Earth you probably recognize some of them.

► SUBSTANCES: You don't have to be coy about it - just ask one of your servers, and you'll be able to get whatever kind of vices you might be craving. Drugs, alcohol, ice cream... it's all good. If this sounds like a nightmare for potential addicts, you would be correct. It's not uncommon to see people clearly over-indulging in certain locations, though guests are usually escorted back to their rooms if they take ill - only to see them back at it again the next day.

► SPA DAY: If you'd like to take a swim, pools of various aesthetics are easy to find. So are hot tubs, and saunas, and Host servants who are willing to give you a massage or manicure. If the party crowd isn't your scene, there are plenty of more low-key opportunities to indulge.

► GREENSPACE: There is one park area on the grounds, which appears to be constructed on the rooftops of other parts of the complex. While there are trees and greenery, there is no real sky that you can see - only the illusion of one. It may start to occur to you over time that no window or rooftop actually leads to any kind of outdoors. The Celebration really is there only thing here.

These are really just examples, and you can get creative with what kind of services you find offered while here, when it comes to generally mundane comforts. It really feels like the Host wants to win you over, as if you staying just a little longer has some sort of intrinsic appeal.

He hadn't realized it yet but Yuuri was becoming far too comfortable in this place. His anxiety hadn't reared it's ugly head in a couple days now and he'd been wandering away from his fellow Carnival workers more and more in favor of joining up with some of the party goers. More than once he'd gotten his hands on something that was most likely spiked or drugged but he couldn't be bothered to think too long about it.

The young man ends up in the park by accident, a giggling mess that's lacking his glasses and wearing one of the outfits he'd found in his closet--one that he'd been wearing for about three days straight now. The cuddlefish spots that had stayed with him after their visit to Atlantis are glowing softly thanks to the lack of true light right now and as he wanders down the pathway almost dancing with each step, he looks like he could actually belong in this place.

"You look lonely~" Yuuri mused in a sing-songy voice that was very unlike him as he smiled brightly at Tamaki after the other startled, reaching over to brush his fingers over the other's horns without hesitation. "Want some company?"

Tamaki reacts a bit too nonchalantly to his horns suddenly being caressed. Time being an idol and a friend who is a very clingy drunk have gotten him used to sudden touches, and being in the Celebration has dulled his inhibitions even further.

So he doesn't move away when Yuuri touches his horns (it's a very weird, foreign feeling, not quite like any of his other appendages). He has his own glowing spots, lime green lines of code that glide over his skin like mobile tattoos, occasionally crossing his neck or face before disappearing under his clothes again. They mix with the light of Yuuri's cuddlefish spots.

"I guess." He makes room for Yuuri on the bench. "Just looking at the fake sky, though..."

Said as a rebuttal to the idea that he looks lonely.

The glow of the other's markings is fascinating to Yuuri and he can't help but reach out to brush his fingers over the other's neck. The fact that they're moving is even more interesting and his fingers chase them, or at least start to, before the other is moving to make room for him on the bench.

"Fake sky?" Yuuri mused as he happily crawled onto the bench, pressing close to the other's side as he looked up towards the stars.

"Why's it fake?"
puddingemote: (but i can write a song)

Tamaki jolts a little under Yuuri suddenly pressing up against his side, but it's not bad. It's kind of nice.

He follows the other's gaze, looking over the lights that hang in a poor imitation of a real night's sky.

"Because I know the difference between a satellite and a star," he explains. "Real stars are pretty. They make constellations and stuff. Satellites just move around."

He points up with the arm Yuuri isn't leaned on. "Those aren't even satellites, though. They're just lights. Like someone is shining them up there."

Yuuri doesn't notice the jolt, just cuddles close as he let's out a thoughtful hum.

"Maybe the stars here are different. Everything else about this place is different," he pointed out, turning his head some in an attempt to look at Tamaki but it was hard given his head was nestled against the other's shoulder.

Please excuse the horn digging into your shoulder good sir.

"Or maybe this place just doesn't have stars. Or it could be really, really cloudy! So they made them!" Yuuri added, giggling as an afterthought. "That's rather silly though..."
puddingemote: (i been sleepin in my bed)

Ow, that horn hurts a little bit. He shifts a little so the horn and Yuuri's head are a little more comfortable placed.

Yuuri's reasoning does make him think, though. If this place doesn't have stars, maybe they had to make them, so that people could still enjoy them. Thinking about it that way, it sounds less bad and more bittersweet.

"It makes sense. They made stars so we could still see them..." He smiles a little, leaning his own head back towards Yuuri's. "That's nice..."

Yuuri's quite pleased to hear the other accept the explanation he'd given and he shifts just a bit closer to him because of it.

"Very nice. They just want to make everyone happy here," he mused contently. While one of his arms was pinned between them slightly, the other is draped across Tamaki's waist now, fingers toying with the hem of the other's shirt. "They're all such good people. So welcoming...a lot of fun, tool."
puddingemote: (you're my)

[personal profile] puddingemote 2017-03-09 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah..." The more he thinks about it, Yuuri is exactly right. They want everyone here to be happy; everyone's very nice, and there are so many things to do, and every need they have is attended to. And it doesn't even cost money! This place is a perfect paradise.

He sighs, happily, not yet reacting to Yuuri playing with his shirt hem. "Maybe we can stay here forever... if the Ringmaster will let us..."

"I wonder if she would..maybe she'll end up liking this place, too!" Yuuri said hopefully, fingers slipping under the hem of Tamaki's shirt now to brush lightly against the skin there.

If he were in his proper state of mind, he would be well aware of how bad all of this was. Of how not right it was.

But right now, it just seems like the best place ever.

"You should come play games with me."
puddingemote: (i been livin a lonely life)

[personal profile] puddingemote 2017-03-13 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Tamaki can't really think straight either anymore. If he were in his right mind, there's no way he'd ever want to stay here, and not go home to his friends, but right now, nothing sounds more appealing than that. Besides, one of his friends is here, so what's the problem?

Thought Yuuri touching his skin now is a bit weird, he's distracted by the words coming out of his mouth.

"What kind of games? Like puzzles?"
