[open] december will be magic again

Who: everyone!
When: the evening of D15
Where: A small meeting hall on the moon, close to the portal to the carnival
What: a whole bunch of show-offs meet up to show off their magic, people interested in magic come to learn about said magic, and other people show up to see if something inevitably gets set on fire. (aka mage club)
Warnings: none so far, will edit if needed.

The meeting hall is a large open space, with hardwood floors and a rustic decor. A few chairs and tables are scattered around, though there aren't enough for the amount of people who'll hopefully show up. Some food has been set out: mostly finger foods (tiny sandwiches, fruit, veggies & dip) though there are some savory options and plenty of home-baked cookies, courtesy of Rin. Drink wise, there's water, hot chocolate, hot tea, and a few bottles of wine because tipsy magic sounds like an awesome idea and this is what happens when the alcoholic makes the dinner menu. Aside from the food table and the few tables, there's not much of anything in the room: plenty of open space for showing off or getting out of the way of someone who wants to show off.

One of the doors of the meeting hall leads to the outside. There's a wider, 'backyard' sort of area with plenty of room for people to cast magic as large and impressive as they want. A fire pit stands outside also for warming your hands and other fire-based magic. Please don't set the building on fire.

This is all very informal. If pressed for details, Strange would have told anyone to just come whenever, stay as long as you like, and so on and so forth. The emphasis is on learning about each other's magic, displaying one's skills and talents, and helping anyone who wished to learn magic decide on a path for them to take.

Showing off is just a given.

Walking on air like that, and staying up there so smoothly, that's a neat trick. Impressive, and attention-grabbing. Papyrus' own jumping around has nothing on that. He comes to admire, and falls afoul of Tyki's grinning demand.

"Uhh... Hmm." He experimentally waves a hand through Tyki again, but hits nothing but that unsettling tingly air. "Hey, are you... by any chance... actually a ghost?"

Tyki loves a good sucker especially when he's offering something that can't be refused. Curiosity is a horrid temptation and his grin widens even more at him falling for it.

"No, not a ghost at all, Mister Cool Bones," he says with his power still activate and working against him. It's only after a minute of him waving his hand in and out that'll he'll finally deactivate it and allow him to touch.

"Oh, no no. Mr. Coolbone is the marowak who lives with me," Papyrus protests through fruitless waving. He's not very sincere or emphatic about the protest; coolbones wouldn't be a bad last name. Better than Sans' adhoc 'the skeleton', which is so obvious as to not need mentioning.

With the pass where their hands suddenly collide, the skeleton startles with a brief rattle of bones. "Whoa! Is it... on a timer?"

"Is that another pokemon?" he asks with vague interest. He's assuming everything is a pokemon at this point if it has an odd name. It goes completely over his head otherwise and he'll ignore the fact his playfulness is ignored.

His fingers are light underneath those bones. Compared to Sans he has no idea how fragile Papyrus might or might not be, "No, I can activate or deactivate it when I want to."

Papyrus nods confirmation - yes, marowak is a kind of pokemon. The many various names for them are bewildering, and the only reason he bothers to remember this one is because there's another of the same sort in the carnival. Otherwise, there's no point drawing out the 'that's not my name, that's my pet's routine like that's not me, that's my parent's. Coolbone could become his last name, there's nothing stopping him. A thought for later.

For now, the question of this move-through trick is more interesting. "What an amazing way to cheat at snowball fights!" He pokes down again, with more confidence in his stability than his brother might have. Papyrus, after all, is in very good health for a skeleton monster. It would take more than a handshake, or even a piledriver, to injure him. "Could a blue attack even hit you, like that...?"

He's not sure just how well he'd get along with a pokemon. Even Morticia, from Greysol, had to constantly remind him to feed himself, do obligating things, and scrounge her up something as well. To think he would ever be able to take care of a pet if it didn't have some way of nudging/reminding him daily it was there would be a troublesome thought. At least with his monster butterflies they didn't need to eat all the time.

"It has been keeping me rather dry and not cold during this winter wonderland and with the small snow war we had without our cabin when someone got carried away." He's not going to mention any names but it did take some time to get all the water out of everything including his bed. Papyrus will earn himself a confused look from Tyki, "I don't know what a blue attack is but maybe not." Given it had the word attack in it and his power was handicapped thanks to the Ringmaster.
