PILLAR OF CREATION↴![]() Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds. |

metal things that like to eat people
Yet that focus is broken the moment his brows furrow and he gets that ping from his Noah subconsciously of something. It's familiar to his nephew but he's not around and it causes him to straighten a little too quickly as he eyes his surroundings.
Thankfully Cole speaks, given he could be a lot more defensive, and he'll get that feeling of wariness from Tyki if he's still able. The cheerful smile is there regardless with his exceptional poker face, "I was wondering given the seats. What does it do though, Mister Cole?" Yes, he remembers his voice from the Acquisitions channel given that was the purpose of getting to know each other.

Of course, if it was the same as the thing Cole saw move (which yes, was a car, but heck if Cole knows that) then this thing could move on it's own and honestly, he doesn't know what to think about that.
"Different shapes, similar sizes, but they're all the same. I think. Things usually are." Birds, people, trees. Individual members look different and feel different but they're still birds, people, trees to begin with.

"It doesn't look all that appealing," he comments again with his hand settling on the door to gently let his fingertips feel inside for anything strange. He's finding hinges, wires, and assorted other metal pieces.
no subject
"It's not alive. And there's nothing pushing it. So how can it move?"
He's not touching the car, but Cole moves over to the side, looking at the rear door, the gas tank, and so on and so forth. He doesn't outright get on the floor to look underneath the car, but he's definitely squatting down to get a better look at the tires and—
"Oh!" Cole exclaims, a bit surprised. "I see myself!" In the reflection of the hubcap, that is.
no subject
He bends haphazardly and almost in too much flexibility as he looks down at Cole's reflection in the mirror, "Hmm, so you can." He rights himself and lets his fingers slide along the front until they catch underneath an opening. It makes him feel along the warm surface longer until he finds a latch and with a quick pop the entire hood is lifted. Tyki blinks confused at all the various parts of the engine, "I have no idea."
no subject
He just kind of stares at the engine for a moment, utterly confused and not even knowing which part to talk about first. Unlike Tyki, Cole's hands are at his side as he looks over the thing. Eventually, he comes to the only conclusion that might get him some use.
"Maybe we should ask somebody?" It's phrased as a question: Cole has no idea if it would be a good idea to ask somebody or not. But it's obvious to him that these two have no idea just what the heck to do next with the odd metal machine.
no subject
It's why he stops half grab at the idea that comes to mind and he lets go of a part he was about to fiddle with a slight distressed look at oil now on his gloves. He smears it between thumb and forefinger, "A carnival member would be more likely to give us a less confused answer but we could grab someone off the street." From what he gathered over the acquisitions channel was that most of the crew he was working with weren't people persons.
no subject
And he is keeping it that way, thank you very much. There's really no need for anybody to see him or anybody to remember him. He could help easier that way, in and out, a comforting voice in one's head over an actual spirit. This place...did it even have spirits to begin with? Another reason why he should stay hidden.
"Besides, it would hurt if we grabbed them."
no subject
He spreads out his fingers and lets the oil just stop touching him as it gently drips through his fingertips and onto the ground, "Yet how to approach someone without seeming out of place isn't really advised. I am well into my twenties and I have seen younger people in these metal traps." Yet his eyes are already scanning the sidewalks for people passing by.
no subject
"We should ask them at the carnival," he decides, though his tone isn't so certain about that. "Magical, mystical, myriad. We're already our of place then." And they're already coming to visit then. After all, isn't that the point of the carnival? To get visitors and possible new workers? They ask the people when they visit and who cares if they seem out of place.
no subject
"That's actually not a bad idea. If I were to ask them at the carnival without seeming out of place and as if I never had a chance to own a car then I could properly ask." Because he is use to talking and adapting.
no subject
Of course, most people don't want to be interrogated about cars while playing 'toss the bottle at the milk bottles,' but Cole still has yet to learn the ins and outs of being a game operator and figuring out how things like this work. All he realizes is they're talking to him anyway, of course they'd want to keep talking to him!
no subject
Tyki wasn't one to judge someone by first appearances though. Tyki himself always kept up his con even if people could sometimes see through it. He knows better than to assume and will probe as much as possible until he learns more than he should know. Yet, he didn't always have to have the answers. He could figure it out another way, "Either way I can share what I learn after performances."
no subject
It is now very obvious to Tyki that the Ringmaster probably had no idea what the hell to do with Cole. Still, Tyki sharing what he learned, that's a good sign. "I'll do the same."
Hopefully between the two of them, they'll be able to get enough information to paint a vague picture of what a car is. Unfortunately, one of the two is Cole.
no subject
Regardless, that still makes him someone that usually has to talk to a lot of people. Game booths allowed people to play but after one failed attempt it was the push and pull that made them waste more money. But now that the casual talk is out of the way Tyki will casually glance towards Cole as he turns to face him directly.
His fingers will lift a little towards his forehead and he'll poke there gently against it, "So, was that you poking around in my head?"
no subject
"It couldn't have been. Your hair would get in the way." Poking around in his head? He couldn't do that, he was too solid to get inside someone's head.
no subject
"If I wanted to I could poke around in my own head but I didn't mean physically. Someone was peeking around in my mind for a moment there. I'll ask again, was that you?"
no subject
Because most people couldn't. Barring accidents, most people couldn't tell that Cole was looking through their mind, and seeing what they thought. Considering that Tyki did, that was...interesting.
Unless he was talking about Cole picking up on one of his memories. Cole's not entirely sure (he's not entirely sure about a lot of things).
no subject
"I know someone that cannot stay out of my head. Someone in my family. " Plus Joyd often responded first to mental intrusions given this body was his host.
no subject
"Spirits don't have families." Because it has to be a spirit, right? Spirits and demons, the only two things Cole can think of that enter and change and see like that, like how Tyki's talking about. But spirits don't have families (at least, Cole doesn't have a family). So who exactly is he thinking of?
no subject
Not to mention if Cole bothers to dive in again he might notice something else lurking inside. Something smothering and dark. Something that keeps him from diving to deep into those memories.
no subject
Cole doesn't really have any experience with regards to telepathy or empathy or any other abilities that might be given by magic or anything else. At least for him, the lines are drawn and the lines are clear. So he's having a damn hard time trying to figure out just what Tyki's family member is.
no subject
He doesn't know Cole well enough to mention he's a Noah. Not like he did with Lambert or show off any of his own powers like he did with Childermass. Unlike those he is open with, Cole was just not one of them. "He didn't always have that ability but then you weren't always a spirit, were you?"
no subject
"I think I was. Scared and unsure, not knowing, stories split into two directions." His voice lowers as Cole tilts his head towards the ground. "Broken and bloody, guts spilled. I wanted to help. But I couldn't. So I remembered him instead. And got confused, minds merging, thoughts twisted together. But I still was me. Not knowing isn't not being."
Cole tried to help the real Cole, the mage who's face and name he shares. But there wasn't anything he could do to help the dying man. And so, he accidentally took on the mage's memories as well and things got...weird.
no subject
Though he blinks in a hint of curiosity at what he says. Spirits never started off as spirits. They had to be dragged back from their controlled peace in order to harness them or they had to have a reason to stick around, "That's another difference then in my world. No one starts off as a spirit. You only become one after you die and most of the time there has to be something else interfering with death to make a spirit."
The Earl had a heavy hand in that often causing loved ones to call back souls. His uses were for creating Akuma though and not to make spirits.
