What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly.

► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation.

► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better.

► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week.

► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

( Sassy is good, less so when needing to be serious, but hey, everyone has their own way of living their life. Victor comes to a stop once he's in reasonable conversation distance, tapping a finger on his lips and looking upward. He definitely hasn't heard this joke before. He relents by looking back to Frisk, a faint smile on his lips. )

I have no idea.

['You do you' is something Frisk's learned to live with when it came to the quirks of the Underground and those who lived there. But ways of life can be discussed later. It's bad joke time.]

A labracadabrador.

[Well, if there's one thing Frisk's got going for them, it's an excellent poker face. The kids, meanwhile, just groan. Score.]

( Meanwhile Victor quirks a grin, glancing at the kids and winking. )

Try to say that ten times fast?

[Frisk tries their best but Determination only takes you so far when it comes to tongue twisters and they only manage to do it three times before stumbling.

But they're nothing if not a good actor and pretend to gag, pretending it takes a lot out of them to do that.]

If you wanted to take my breath away, you just needed to be yourself.

[Yeah really. But Frisk giggles and it's clear they're kidding. awful pickup lines always made people laugh.]

( Victor laughs, most the children laughing too; it's silly, and silly appeals to everyone in attendance. )

Ah, this flattery! From a jokester, who wouldn't find it sincere? But let me see... have you heard why the bicycle fell over?

[The laughter has Frisk giggling too. It's...nice when everyone is laughing like this and it also means that they're doing a good job.]

Nope! Why did the bicycle fall over?

Because it was two tired.

( He holds up two fingers and winks. Half his joke inventory is now exhausted, but to be fair, the majority of his humour could follow very dark lines, and weren't really great for kids. Ergo: two tired! )

[Frisk gives an undignified snort and the kids laugh.]

Maybe we should take Mercy on the poor bike and put on the brakes.

[A groan from the kids. Wow, what a way to ruin a good joke with an awful pun.]

( He laughs, more amused at the groans from the kids than anything else. not that he doesn't cause more, lifting a finger to his lips and tapping against them as he muses: )

It would help keep the poor bike from spinning wheels caught up in its own cycling, that's true.

( one of the kids moans something about parental jokes, to the good natured groans of several others. )

[Look kids, parent jokes are good. Or all jokes are good jokes, even the bad ones. As long as people are laughing, it's fine.]

Yup. But I think the kids might be thinking we're going in circles now. Knock knock?

( This is the sad moment where Victor... doesn't know what a knock knock joke is, but hey. Time to learn. )

On the door?

( One of the kids watching starts calling out, "Who's there!" "You're supposed to say who's there!" Victor picks up on this, adding: )

Ah, I see. Who's there?

[Yes. Time to learn some really bad knock knock jokes Victor. They're good for the SOUL.]

Honeydew.

Honeydew?

( The kids help Victor out, chanting "Honeydew who! Honeydew who!" He nods, a brief, exaggerated motion, turning his head to the side and mouthing a Thank You. One child giggles; another gives him a grave nod in return before laughing. )

Honeydew who?

Honeydew you want to hear some garden jokes?

[Bam. Meaning there might be some more puns coming. Sorry kids.]

Now that you've seed it, I'd leaf to hear them!

( This time Victor earns all the big groans. He grins, unashamed. )

[Groan away little kids, Frisk is smiling so hard their face hurts.]

I'll go dig them out. But hopefully they bloom before I have to go.

[Booo...]

You'll be a perennial favourite, I'm sure. So don't go rooting around for too long! It'd soil the sense of anticipation!

( More raspberries! More groaning! One child asks, "Are they really doing this?" )

[They are really doing this. Hold tight because Frisk still has a few minutes of time in their break.]

Thanks, but I think our puns are kind of rotting the kid's. I think someone's at the door too.

[Knock knock Victor.]

( At least they're making it easy for Victor to follow along with the jokes. He glances away, toward what counts as a door, managing to look curious. )

Really? Who's there?

[Frisk knows a few obscure ones, but they're also telling these jokes to kinds so there's no point in it. And it's more fun to be able to follow along.]

It's Anne, I think.

Anne? Anne who?

( At least one kid tells him "Good job!" for remembering how knock knock jokes proceed, while another groans and goes, "Not another one!" )

[Frisk winks at the kids and spreads their arms.]

Anne one you want!

[Badum-tish.]

( Victor snorts, lifting his eyebrows. )

Anne we might be getting to the end of the performance. ( He nods his head back toward the stage. ) Where can we catch you later, hm?

[Yup, looks like it.]

I'm gonna be here again once it's done. You can come back, um...

[Yeah, now Frisk realizes they didn't get Victor's name yet. Whoops.]

Victor.

( He says with a bow, European style, and a wink at the kids. Hamming it up for the younger demographic, who do end up rewarding this nonsense by giggling. )
