PILLAR OF CREATION↴![]() Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds. |

Dat shirt
9S does draw him away from the skyscrapers enough to let him back up off the road and onto a sidewalk and he'll grin wide with renewed expectations. He's also glancing over at his shirt with an amused look. Aw, baby's first change. How adorable. Then again, his had been his golden eyes too.
"I know, I know. But have you seen this place?"
no subject
This is all so new to 9S as well -- he's only ever seen anything like this in old world records! It's even better seeing it in person -- but at least he still has the presence of mind to keep his head firmly attached to his shoulders.
"Have you never been in a city before, Tyki?"
no subject
At least 9S has the knowledge to put forward to what was instead of what is. Tyki's completely blind to everything and he'll take his eyes off things to actually look at 9S. It looks like he might just wander off again at any moment.
"I have been in a city but it was never this tall or grand." It was more of a capital city than a modern city. "Nothing ever goes higher than four stories and that's only if you have money."
no subject
That's so hard to believe. The city ruins is full of multi-storey buildings, and the desert's apartment complex stretches up into the sky. How did Tyki's world fit all its humans in their buildings?
"Well, all of this stuff is non-functional in my time, but we have records." He stretches, flexing his fingers. He's been itching to do some hacking; other than Peridot's machines and Rita's blastia, he's been woefully underutilising his abilities. "If you're interested in anything that's technological, I can show you how they work."
no subject
He really should get his hands on some decent history books. Tyki was the primal stages of fine society and gentle reconstruction of the modern age. They were behind but starting to experiment with bodies, life, and the ease of comfort. The world was torn between two very distinct passages of human livelihood. One either had money or not.
"By all means, Mister Nines."
no subject
9S hums, thinking for a moment. "What about these motor vehicles?" He gestures at the row of parked cars along the sidewalk. "Do they have those where you're from?"
no subject
"No, our transportation is usually a carriage drawn by one to four horses. Most of ours have at least two." Because he was loaded at home and could afford them.
no subject
Admittedly, the row of cars is really tempting. What's it like to drive one of these? He'd seen the broken down truck by the bridge in the city ruins, but it was too rusted to drive. The Carnival doesn't have anything like this and he doesn't know if he'll get a chance like this again.
9S shoots Tyki a sidelong glance. "So... Do you want to ride in one?"
Please say yes, please say yes. Then he'll have an excuse!
no subject
Oh? His eyes perk up along with his ears on top of his head. He's excited for sure and it is showing at his question, "I tried earlier. It didn't go well. So, yes. I would very much like that."
no subject
"Alright, give me a moment."
A ring of light encircles 9S' wrist for a moment before he shoots what appears to be a beam of energy into the car. A brief moment later, the car doors unlock and the car engine turns on. Blinking, 9S turns to Tyki with a grin.
"We're good to go. I'll drive."
Get in the car, Tyki!!
no subject
"Alright," he responds with a hint of curiosity and his brow raises high at the fancy light. It's when he sees it hit the car, with it unlocking and engine starting, that he just opts to the passenger seat when prompted, "It's all yours~"
no subject
9S puts down the handbrake and changes the gearstick from Parking to Drive. "Alright. Let's see..."
Did he mention that he's never driven a car before? And he's used to hooking up more directly to the vehicles he rides in?
Turning the steering wheel and pressing on the accelerator, he abruptly pulls out of the parking spot... in front of an incoming car, which honks him loudly as it swerves around him. But hey, at least he hasn't crashed!
"Whoops!" 9S laughs before saying to Tyki, "You okay there?" Except he doesn't really waste time in getting an answer before he floors it.
no subject
He's watching almost meticulously as if trying to learn himself though he does prefer for others to drive him around. It is what he's use to after all. It's only lazy curiosity that keeps his eyes off the road for the moment.
It doesn't stop him from leaning back in his seat with a sort laugh of surprise. He's having too much fun to be alarmed and at least with no intent of attack he knows he'll be alright, "I'm fine. I'm fine. Go ahe--." His fingers twitch absently on the side of the door. Man, just how fast can this go?
no subject
Expensive cars go fast, that's for sure! Except 9S is used to faster. Granted, he never had to manually steer those before, but for the most part, after that initial mishap, he's weaving through traffic like a pro.
Except for the small thing of not following road rules.
9S lets out a burst of laughter as he slows down to turns a corner. "Oh wow. I wish I had one of these when I was back home."
no subject
It causes that same excitement 9S saw before when he first stepped into this world to bubble up into that recognizable laughter all over again, "Ha ha. How long until it got destroyed though?!"
no subject
Said immediately after he accelerates again.
"...Okay, so the Flight Unit I took out once got destroyed, but sometimes that happens on a mission!"
Well, technically that was a different 9S body, and he doesn't remember a thing about what happened then, but details
no subject
"Hahaha, that's not what I heard," he says with no backing to his words whatsoever. He saw 9S with someone pretty at the manor and for all he knew he might've talked to her. He didn't but it was fun to tease anyways.
"I have no idea what a Flight Unit is! But it flies?!"
no subject
...Wait, did Peridot complain to Tyki about the time he blew up one of her lasers? That wasn't his fault! It was her fault for making lasers that were so easy to hack into!
"Yeah! We use Flight Units to travel from space to Earth. They're expensive to operate, so they're only used in areas where we can't get a transporter signal from Earth to the Bunker."
Do you want to go for a beachside drive, Tyki? Because that's what they're going to do. 9S slows down so Tyki can have a nice view of the ocean and all the people there, too.
"Sooo... uh, what did you hear? About me? And from who?" Subtle.
no subject
"It's still amazing. Humans have gotten that far to the point they have reached space. Never satisfied. Ever climbing." In truth he loved humans even if he was going to destroy them.
But to answer his question, "Now, now, Mister Nines. That's my trade secret." Totally bluffing.
no subject
Maybe they would be able to start growing again when they return to their homes.
"Awww, come on, Tyki!" 9S whines, hunching over the steering wheel. "If the talk is about me, shouldn't I get to hear it?"
no subject
It doesn't stop him from enjoying the air as he fiddles with the buttons on the side of the car until the window ends up coming down on its own. Oh, the feels nice and he'll chuckle gently, "You're too easy but that is one of your finer qualities."
no subject
9S huffs. Maybe he should make Tyki's window go up and make it get stuck that way!
And... Is that comment supposed to be a compliment? 9S would squint at Tyki suspiciously, but that would involve taking his eyes off the road. But he does send him a dubious glance. "Why do you mean by 'too easy'?"
no subject
It is and a little mocking. Still, it's a compliment and one he'll keep consistent. "You're too easy to tease but that isn't anything bad. It just makes you more fun than you already are~" And it'll keep Tyki around because he can.
