What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

PILLAR OF CREATION↴ Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

"Uh... sometimes. Usually they just kind of see him as part of general menagerie tours." His mouth gives a wry twist as he looks at Barfy. "So, they don't really get a choice if they want to see the others."

[stompadour]

"... That seems... counterproductive."

"Doesn't seem to hurt tour sales any." He shrugs. "I mean, maybe that has to do with the fact that people don't know what they're going to see before they go in, but I guess seeing one gross, bad-smelling animal might not outweigh the ones that people actually enjoy looking at."

Maybe he's being a little meaner to Barfy than necessary here, but, consider this: Barfy is currently biting him and doesn't give a shit anyway.

[stompadour]

Jasper snorts, watching Barfy chew on Ginko's arm. After a moment's contemplation, she gives a curt nod to this miserable spectacle.

"Is that thing hurting you?"

It wouldn't quite be accurate to say that Ginko suddenly remembers Barfy is definitely still chewing on him, because he absolutely remembered. Now, though, he redirects his attention to him.

"--Ah, right. Yeah, but this is kind of par for the course?" He adjusts his hold to try and pry Barfy off his arm, grimacing. "I'll just go to medical later."

[stompadour]

"... I'll take it," Jasper grits out. She is literally forcing herself to make these words, because this is her job. She holds out her arm. "I'm much less flimsy than you."

...Okay, see, Ginko currently has some kind of hell-animal chewing on his arm, and yet it kind of sounds like Jasper might be the one who's in more pain here.

"Uh... sssure. Thanks." He finally loosens Barfy's grip enough to remove him, then holds him out at arm's length because there's really not a better way to pass this thing from one person to another.

[stompadour]

Jasper clamps two enormous orange hands around Barfy and lifts him away from Ginko's gnawed-on arm. Barfy immediately commences chewing on her fingers, which she doesn't react to -- possibly because she was expecting it, possibly because she's trying to make a point about how sturdy she is... or possibly just because she was already scowling. It's hard to say.

"Where's it supposed to go?"

Well, you know. She's clearly not debilitated by Barfy's shitty chomping, and he's been chewed on enough for one day, so this seems pretty much fine.

"Just this way - he's a few enclosures in." He heads back toward the entrance of the menagerie; thankfully, Barfy hadn't managed to get too far before Ginko caught him.

[stompadour]

Jasper follows him, with Barfy writhing contrarily in her steely grip.

She has, she ponders, been somewhat helpful in this situation. Perhaps putting her in this position isn't so bad a choice? She still feels like her skills are being wasted, but... well, maybe it isn't the worst.

"This happen often?" she grunts.

[dontpokethat]

"Uh... depends on how you look at it." Very encouraging, Ginko. "It's not like it's a weekly occurrence, but he gets out... I'd say every couple months or so. His enclosure isn't any less secure than any of the others, he's just, uh. Slippery."
