What: The carnival enjoys a few days in Wismuth, a coastal city on this planet's version of the American east. However, there are a few things very unique about this version of the planet...

PILLAR OF CREATION↴ Upon arriving, things in Wismuth will seem pretty peaceful. It's a massive city, with no shortage of things going on, but things like violent crime and homelessness are at an all time low. You can wander the streets without much scrutiny, presumed to just be tourists, and most people here come across as helpful and friendly. ► VIBRANCY: The main thing that sets this planet apart is its vibrancy - AKA, the raw creative energy its filled with, flowing from its status as a Pillar of Creation. There is no literal pillar, but Wismuth and its planet is a place where Creation's energy comes through strongest. As a result, everything here feels somehow more real, more intense in a way that's hard to put a finger on. Life is abundant, and its bleeds through in every sensation. ► ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of things to see while going around the city. First and foremost, there is a lovely beach area bordering the ocean, and a number of tourist aimed attractions built around it. There are giant malls, movie theaters, live stage performances, museums and all kinds of other points of cultural interest. Anything you can do in a big city you can do here, but better. ► ALLOWANCES: The Ringmaster will be giving everyone a reasonable amount of local currency for a few days on the town. You can't make any massive acquisitions with it, but it's more than enough to eat out, see some shows, go to the beach, and whatever you like. You can feel free to pick up some casual supplies, like mundane clothing and souvenirs. There will be more given out later, after the performance week. ► PERFORMANCE: Performance week is starting early this time, after only a couple days of exploration. When the carnival has already been on vacation for a month, the Ringmaster figures they may as well get right to it, and then do more touring afterwards. Members of the local populace will find themselves in the carnival once performances begin, dazzled by the other worldly sights. Magic doesn't seem to exist here, despite the fact that it will flow easier for people bringing it from other worlds.

"Got it." He turns on his heel, striding to the nearby structure to pop his head inside and scan for any evidence of a broom. At least that should look about as he expects, and wonder of wonders, it does! It's nice to find not everything is wildly different from his expectations when he thought the carnival was just an unexpected detour on his way home for the evening.

Ears and oddities of features on fellow carnies are another matter, but he's only finding the ones that clearly move to be outright distracting. The rest he can pass off for now as similar to stage makeup, albeit for a movie stage instead of anything he's used to. He drops down into a crouch, grimacing at the sound and scent of Barfy in its determined squirming to get at whatever it was pursuing with singleminded focus. With the broom angled, he pushes it under from the other side. "Like this?"

Barfy screeches in what could be either horror or sheer, unadulterated rage as the broom pushes at him. He is also definitely biting the bristles. But, he's being gradually nudged backward.

"--Yes, like that!" Ginko grabs Barfy under the armpits and hauls him backward, leaving a trail of claw scratches on the ground. "Thanks--" Barfy wriggles forward, getting a few inches back under the stall. "Ah, there he goes. Well, it's progress."

In a way, if he'd ever had to chase a mouse or rat out of the kitchen, it was probably similar to this. Seeing he wasn't causing particular damage to Barfy, when Barfy starts to wiggle forward again, Victor shifts and firmly wedges the broom against Barfy's chest and shoulders. This time he better braces himself when he pushes back, forcing Barfy toward Ginko again.

Barfy tries to violently squirm to one side, Victor moving with from his side of the stall, preventing the wild scrambling from paying off by more than an inch or so. With a grunt, he steadily pushes back again. He grimaces, breathing out in a brief sort of bitten off laugh. "Stubborn thing, isn't he?"

Bit by bit, Ginko regains his grip on Barfy as Victor pushes him closer. He finally lifts him up off the ground, and lets out a quiet, amused snort.

"Extremely. Thanks; dragging him out of places he shouldn't be gets pretty tiring after a while."

Victor pops out of the stall again, holding the broom in hand and using the back of his hand to push his hair off his face. "You're welcome! He does this often, I take it?"

Returning the broom while keeping his head turned to hear Ginko's reply, Victor wonders if there's a reason the restraint system that keeps Tyrannosaurus in her pen (why, why is there a Tyrannosaurs rex, why is he just old enough to not find this supremely cool, like he expects Yuri Plisetsky would find it immediately) can't be used for a slippery customer like Barfy. He turns back around once the broom is set back in place. "Need an extra set of hands for opening doors to get him back where he's supposed to be?"

"Whenever he can manage it. At this point, I don't know if he wants to be free that badly, or just hates me." He suspects it's a little of both, actually, since it seems a whole lot like Barfy just hates everyone.

Now that he's gotten a chance to get a better hold on him, Ginko is holding Barfy to his chest, one arm wrapped around the horrible possum-beast's torso and the other keeping a tight grip on the back of his neck, making sure he can't twist around and try to bite. He gives Victor a grateful nod. "Yes, thank you."

"How charming." Victor laughs, falling in step with Ginko, well out of reach of any potentially thrashing or leaping Barfies. "Does he like anyone? Does he even have any... fellows?"

Victor gestures in a circular motion, not sure what Barfy particularly is.

"Lead the way," he adds, inclining his head forward. "What kind of first aid kits do you keep by the menagerie?"

"We don't have any other Rodents of Unusual Size, if that's what you're asking. But, uh-- He does get along with one of the other animal keepers, actually. And one of the former ones who left."

After a moment of thought, he adds, "He only really seems to get along with little girls, actually. Maybe they're less threatening... or less worth trying to eat."

Ginko leads Victor toward the menagerie, keeping Barfy secure as they go. "Well, we have a pretty basic one for emergencies... it's got antiseptic, bandages... not much else, but it does the job."
